6 figures chopdoc?? I wish! Then it would make working all these hours worth it! No...I make $10 an hour, $15 with time and a half for everything over 40. Plus, I'm a temp so if someone takes a notion, they could get rid of me with a drop of the hat.

For $10 an hour, stocking shelves at wally world would be better than killing yourself where your at.

Wow! I want to be there! Oh, how far are you from Charleston? I forget. Trip Advisor (love them) came out with their 25 best restaurants in the USA recently, and FOUR of them are in Charleston! I never knew it was such a fine dining mecca!

Even the ones that aren't listed aren't bad at all -- we dined at a family-owned-and-run place over in Mt Pleasant (the north side of charleston harbor); it was run by a Greek family, and the food was AMAZING -- regular tossed salad had those awesome kalamata olives and feta cheese; the shrimp was FRESH never frozen, and so tender! And they know how to cook a steak medium rare too!

But the best thing about Charleston is still the people -- they put the hospitality in southern hospitality!

I've thought about doing something different. I have something going on right now that I'm waiting on to come to end. Once that happens, I'll have a little more breathing room. I'm actually thinking of trying to find 2 part time jobs after the first of the year. Right now, Wally World is only hiring for the upcoming holiday season.

Painting makes such a HUGE difference. I love painting!

I do too! I'd start it right now, but the ol man has to tape the woodwork and ceiling, and getting him motivated to do anything that doesn't involve snoring in front of the TV is a HUGE effort, and I've been completely unmotivated myself lately, for obvious reasons. But life does go on.

WTH? Late night booze fueled run to the fridge. Hmm.. brick of Colby, pack of shredded Colby.. both 8oz.. $1.89 vs. $2.79?!?

I am SICK of the deceptive corporate practices! The shredded cheese lobby is CLEARLY to blame for this outrageous markup for a little processing.

I am tossing my hat into this damn ring!I will EXPOSE these liars! I WILL make America GRATE AGAIN!

Just to build a little anticipation, tonite we are going to have a guest performance from our favorite comedian, Tequila.

I've always thought tequila should be spelled with 2 L's... because then, in spanish, the pronunciation would be an accurate reflection of what it does. "Te-keel-ya". :giggle:

Jose was a good friend of mine for quite a while... till the bastard tried to keel me! :giggle:

It was one of the few kinds of "liquor"-strength stuff I could drink straight, and when I ordered it at a bar, it was a beer back, "none of that wussy salt and lime." :D But I consider it quite fortunate than no one ever got me onto good Scotch; from what I've heard about it, I think I would probably have liked it a LOT more than other whiskies I tried, because it's not sweet. Bourbon and sour mash and canadian whiskey were always too sweet to me, I could never drink 'em. And rum is made FROM sugar, yet it's not as sweet as corn whiskey. So weird!

Could be in for a raise, too. Unless it was The Onion, I swear I just read a news article that WallyWorld is going to try to achieve the Costco model for its employees. GOOD pay, and BENEFITS, including health insurance. It would be ABOUT DAMN TIME, and I would definitely venture in and see what they have for me. I'd go from loathe to love in a heartbeat.

Agreed that most whiskies are very sweet, excluding bourbon and scotch.. Bourbon might even be, but it has such a woody bite that I don't notice it like whisky (whiskey?). Scotch though, I have plumbed the depths and there are a couple I can drink, but for the most part they taste like.. dirt, to ME.
Tequila and I are fine straight, with a chaser, or frozen with strawberries and a pink umbrella. I have never met Tequila I didn't like.

Rum was once a staple. I rarely drink it any more. I like the black stuff, less sweet, more character. We drink a lot of vodka and gin around here too. Vodka will mix with most anything, and when the Mrs. ain't foolin around, she goes for Sapphire martini's. Just that.. no stinkin vermouth. She will dilute with a couple chevre stuffed olives. I don't really LIKE when she drinks martini's, there is usually a shit storm somewhere near the end. It's her equivalent to many peoples Tequila.

Addictions are such ironic diseases to me. I have gone extended periods without alcohol, both as a test (for a year) and sometimes it just doesn't fit in with what I am doing. On my motorcycle trip this summer, I almost never drank. I was riding or I was sleeping. I never gave it much thought. I've run with a wild bunch too, and while I was happy to explore, nothing ever "bit" me, and as I get older, I just have NO interest. Even gambling and things like that. It's OK.. The wife never has to worry about me losing the house over anything, that's for sure. I AM thankful that I don't seem to have whatever gene or whatever it is, that creates addiction or the tendency.

I'm sure it isn't easy to watch people enjoy what you just cannot. I'd feel bad about joking about having fun with it, but THAT is a slippery slope. Not being able to talk about normal things in life that a select group has a problem dealing with. It would take things to a whole new level of PC. Not that you've ASKED us to not talk about it, I've never seen that from anyone anywhere. But it DOES apply to a lot of things that aren't so different.

Heh. Best quote EVER from Dr. House: "I'm an addict. I have to find something I can turn up to 11 that won't rot my brain." :giggle:

Gambling always seemed totally stupid to me, but I do sorta get that it's a compulsion, just like drink or drugs. I had a summer when I was a teenager when my mom worked at the concession stand at a nearby VFW, which had bingo every day. I got the bingo bug BAD... and then it dawned on me, that $50 pot I won, I had spent a couple hundred playing bingo before I won anything. That pretty much cured me of bingo. :) We buy a Mega Millions or Powerball ticket or 5, when the pot gets really huge, but it's mainly on the principle of "if you don't play, it's IMPOSSIBLE to win," while realizing that playing in our desultory fashion only slightly improves our odds.

When I first quit drinking, I didn't go around people drinking AT ALL; mainly because I was afraid I would develop a resentment, which is death to sobriety. After a few years, that eased considerably; now, I could be around people drinking without giving it a thought; the one thing I really can't stand though are outright DRUNK people, they just annoy the hell out of me; they're clumsy and stupid and prone to vomiting, none of which do I want to be around. :giggle:

Fortunately, I have never enjoyed games of chance at all. With that said, I will almost always risk a dollar (now it's two bucks I think) on quick picks when I'm in a state that has a lotto or powerball or whatever. I'll pay two bucks, but not four :blech:

Casinos have zero appeal to me.

My folks retired to Vegas, and I had gone there with them since I was little. So I've spent a lot of time in Vegas hotels. I hated it at first. The idea of just LOSING money with nothing in return seemed ludicrous. My dad loves it. He had a craps table drawn on the underside of our dining table cover, and we all played for fun. THATS messed up.

But I learned how to make $100 last a whole night of people watching, drinking their top shelf booze, having some laughs and maybe, JUST maybe, getting a crack at the house. I manage my money. When I've played through the $100, and I have less than $100, I find another table or quit. If I have MORE than $100, I put the excess in my pocket. I never lose more than the $100,, but the house has EVERYTHING at stake, with miniscule odds on my pass line odds bet. MUCH better deal than the lottery.

Man, one of the posts in my Chalice III is stripped :(

Anyone know where I can get a replacement or know someone who can fix it?

I love that atty but am loathe to spend the bucks to replace it at this point.

Maybe you can use parts from the $9 clone? I would have thought that anything from Mark Bugs would be titanium?
https://www.fasttech.com/product/2353200-chalice-iii-styled-bottom-feeding-rda-rebuildable

Those clones have been discontinued for well over a year :(

I have also have a clone version but the posts are slightly different. Plus, I'd hate to muck up an authentic atty with substandard cloned parts.

Mine is is the SS version - the titanium Chalice is almost impossible to find

I have a pair of his Wizards. Not the apprentice. I had an apprentice but the switch didn't work for my dry hands. The Wizard was supposed to have an improved sensor. It don't. Not for me anyway. I'd love to love em, but having to lick my finger every time I want to take a vape is friggin gross. I can't ALWAYS have a cold mug of beer nearby, as much as I'd like.

Yeah, Mark Bugs stuff can be hit or miss.

I do have the titanium Gem. It is a ridiculously reliable RTA, but the flavor is meh.

Andria

I don't have dry skin, but my fingertips? Yeah, NOT the moistest part of any body, really. It was a good idea, and if I have something with condensation on it nearby, I can always make it work by touching my fingertip to the glass or whatever first., but it is way to flaky to count on, without having to rely on licking your finger sometimes. Pretty though,, and light as a feather. It weighs almost nothing until you put a battery in it.
