Your fuse is blown...My is reading 5.1v. Escripe will bypass the fuse when connected:cheers:

Heck, sometimes it almost seems like I know what I'm talking about :giggle::giggle::giggle:.

I can get you a link to where you can get replacement fuses. The thing if it's something wrong with the board, the fuse will just blow again. You never know, it could have just been a bad fuse, but I tend to think it's usually something that causes them to blow.

PS Let me know and I'll shoot you the link.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks, but this one is going back to Evolv for repair. I looked at it and almost bypassed it myself:p I just can't see that good anymore to attempt soldering it into the board.

Good call. If it's something causing it to blow, bypassing it could cause more problems. Unless I know for a fact it was just a bad fuse, I wouldn't recommend someone bypass it (It's there to protect both the board and batteries )

Steve

I figured it to be the fuse also, but I am not 100% convinced it is yet... I tore it down and the fuse still looks as it should...Solid green with the white S' from the mfg. Granted I can't see both sides of the fuse. I think mine the daughter board failed, for when I change it to Power Supply mode in Escribe, mod works fine...Minus battery reading... waiting for Nick to authorize an RMA...which is taking forever...

Must be on a major bender after the Indians lost. ;-)

For anyone that's interested, the Lost Vape Therion 166 is up for pre-sale (ETA 11-17-16) at FT for just under $122
https://www.fasttech.com/search?therion 166

Unfortunately you will need to go back to the 133 or 75 to figure out which color is which since they list them differently than a lot of places. For instance, they have both Auburn and Dark Auburn which I think are there way of saying Ostrich.

Cheers,
Steve

Since it works with "power supply" selected it is not the fuse. Most likely a problem with battery management circuit on the DNA board, I doubt if it's the daughter/battery board at fault .
This situation happened to my Vt133 after about 30 days of receiving it. Evolv was going to have me send in the mod but I did voltage measurements off the balance taps to make sure it was the board at fault and just sent in the board.
Put in the new board and all is well.
I'm not recommending it be done this way just saying what I did.

Hey Steve in trying change your file from PDF to .ecig how do I do that
First you have to download the file to your PC. Then Google how do I change file extensions in whatever operating system you are using (I'm using Windows 10 so I would Google - How do I change file extensions in Windows 10).

If you can't figure it out send me a PM with your E-mail address and I'll email the file to you without changing the file extension. I'm assuming you want the one for the VT133?

Cheers,
Steve

Someone make the case for Pre-Heat/Punch vs. just cranking up the wattage.
(I'm of the impression, if it's of benefit, it's more/mostly so at higher power, with heavy metal... which I don't use.)

JTech is putting the spurs to their rollout of the PH updates (which may only be operable in Power Mode). And while I can see the advantage there, even at low power, I'm at a loss to justify it in TC.

The new NFE (?) editor may have a Graphing Monitor analog, so it may be possible to measure some of this out (my Escribe lappy is down, may get an HP back up late this week).

I would say it is mostly for larger coils. I still use it on simple builds just to get to temp quickly, but it's probably not a big deal. With dual Claptons it makes a big difference in getting a smooth vape from them.

I asked Nick at Evolv..."By chance since the DNA250 is the same price as the 200, that my dead 200 is returned with a 250? "

Waiting for a reply

EDIT: Was denied the 250 LOL

From the site, couldn't tell if it was the stainless or the black one with brown...glad you got your mod bro, truly jealous...debating on waiting a bit longer to see what other sales pop up in the next few weeks.

Thanks! I purchased the Black167 with the Black Croc cover(same one as the vid). That's the cheapest i seen, got the same email as you.
I just couldn't wait any longer:giggle:

My Ecig Profile for the VT133,

I uploaded my Ecig file but had to change the file extension to .pdf. You will have to change the file extension back to .ecig to load it.

To load it, first download the file (paying attention to where you save it on your PC) then
1. Change the file extension back to .ecig (You can't upload a .ecig file here because it's an unsupported format)
2. Hook up your VT133 to Escribe (You probably should save your .ecig file before loading mine so you can go back to yours if you don't like mine. Just click on "File" at the top of Escribe and click on "Save AS" to save yours, name it whatever you like as long as it's not the same as the one I sent you. EX: VT133a).
3. To load the new one - click on "File" at the top of Escribe.
4. Click on "Open"
5. Navigate to where you saved the file (Example - I save mine in Downloads, so I would click on Downloads)
6 Click on the File and then "Open"
7. Click on "Upload Settings to Device" at the top of Escribe to save it to your mod. That's it, you will be done.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you use it I'd like to know what you think.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit 1: I edited the post to add better instructions on how to load the file.
Edit 2: I uploaded my Lavabox M DNA 75 Ecig Profile
Edit 3: I updated the VT133 and Lavabox M DNA 75 flies and deleted the old ones.
Edit 4: I added my Vapor Flask Ecig Profile
Edit 5: I added my Triade DNA250 Ecig Profile

Do you have any profiles for a DNA 200 so I can compare? I'm updating my Vaporshark DNA 200 and just wanted to know if the results I get are somewhat comparable to yours.

I have profiles for the Hcigar VT200, Hotcig DX200, and Lavabox DNA200. What size Lipo does the VS use? IIRC it's a 3s 900mah. If that's the case the Lavabox would be a good match (also a 900mah 3s Lipo). That all being said, the mods resistance and case thermals could be different. Everything else would be the same. Let me know which one you want.

Cheers,
Steve

Your numbers seen awfully high. I'd probably try again. If your room temp number is off that you entered, those numbers would come out like that. If the mod wasn't at a stable temp to start with. I like to run mine before the mod has been used that day if possible, with the actual room temp, in a stable area (not in front of a heat vent, fan, etc). Just my two cents

Cheers,
Steve

Well my Vt133 is home, with a complete new board and none of my profiles ;-)

Was easily able to upload them, minus my case analyzer file...can't find that sadly, so next few hours she sits there.

Side note, the OBS Engine I ordered came in today also!

Thx Steve, mine as I remember was very similar...

one thing I noticed when I plugged it into escribe, it already had the internal resistance set...one of the first things I checked besides adding the 30q curve and battery set options.

Nice to see on the get info tab it saying Evolv Verified️ and wattage tests noted.

Now I need to remember where I can rename the device...escapes me at the moment.

SP5 is out.
https://evolvapor.forumchitchat.com/post/early-firmware-7508618
This service pack is mostly bug fixes.

On the device side:
- DNA 200 and DNA 250 no longer lose the battery meter on startup sometimes.
- Calibration values have been improved slightly for newer DNA 200s and DNA 250s. (More accurate USB Voltage, mainly.)
- Temperature Protected and other messages now show the correct number of flashes again.
- Some VaporShark DNA 200s would reset charging when above 0.8A with 1.2 SP3 and 1.2 SP4. They now charge at full speed.

On the EScribe side:
- Device Monitor no longer shows Battery Cell 3 on 2-cell devices (except in debug mode).
- Get Information shows test information in an easier-to-read form.
- Production Utility's Battery Test is now more thorough. It also shows a progress bar.
- Production Utility's Fire Test completes more quickly now. It also shows a progress bar.
- This resolves some more scaling issues in Large Fonts mode and some crash bugs.
- Minor bug and compatibility fixes.

You rename it when you first plug it into Escribe after you already have Escribe loaded.

Update from my previous post above...

So this morning in better light I noticed a few things off about my VT133..

First off, I have some wear now on the side opposite of the battery tray, like how the bottom shows wear from being on the table...

Second...the Chip wasn't set in correctly ( USB port was in a nasty angle ) and the side panel you remove to access the chip wasn't seated correctly and I actually had to bend it back into shape, since the latch pin was on the outside, they probably tried to press it firmly as they could to make it seat, rather than look at what wasn't seated correctly.

Which leads to the negative cable that runs under the center divider of the battery tray, was sticking out like silly string and not tucked in correctly.

The replacement chip is also missing that electrical flap protector in the center that shields the screw pin on the cover from making any metal to chip contact.

Sort of disappointed overall with Evolv now that I am sitting here looking at my mod, granted I fixed everything above that they missed in haste (Minus replacing the Chip) , but I can't fix the wear of the paint job.

I'll message them and see what they have to say.

So Nick responded to me pretty fast!

Date: 2016-11-15 16:36:00
Name: Nick Coutris

Message:

Hi Don,

I am extremely sorry for the issues upon receipt of your mod.

I will be honest, the VT133 is an extremely difficult mod to repair, this is however no excuse for the condition you received yours in. Because of the daughter board used along the bottom of the device, if the alignment is not perfect when the boards are re-joined it throws the entire alignment of the device off. On top of that there is a very specific order everything has to come apart and go back together in for it all to fit well.

I have spent more time than any other device on the market currently documenting the repair procedure, assembly and disassembly order, and sitting with our techs and showing them how to properly fix one. I will handle this issue internally and take appropriate action to ensure issues like this do not occur in the future.

That being said, it sounds like you are pretty handy with electronics. Is there anything I can do to compensate you for this? Would you like a spare DNA board? I also have a limited quantity of the small daughter boards that HCigar uses across the bottom of the device if you would like a spare one of those as well.

Thanks,
Nick Coutris
Evolv, Inc

I responded, spare parts are awesome!

Aw man, I don't need to see this. They've had my VT133 since Friday. Thats some really bad scratches on there. Totally unacceptable in my opinion. Sorry that happened to you.
