there are 2 types of motorcycle drivers. one's that laid their bike down and one's that will lay their bike down lol
I had a pretty tore up jacket from my crash, i threw it out though and got a new one lol
Very important to keep the shiny side up. That being said I've had my share of road rash.

I wanted to get a slice, but I haven't had much luck or love for single battery mods. :-/ More than likely I just don't know how to properly build for them to get the style of vape I want, but I would love a nice single battery mod that still worked great and gave me a vape that I like. I had a Hcigar VT75 Nano and it turned out to REALLY not be for me. Would only work well with a fully charged fresh battery and then hardly work in the 55+ w range. So I never used the thing and saw the deal for the G2 for $45 shipped, I sold it and bought another G2.
Battery seems to last longer on my Slice over the VT75 26650 version. I really like both mods though and get good battery life on my VT75 if I build right for it, try to keep my ohms at .35 or above so I can run it in the 45 watt range. The Slice takes any tank well though, never have to purpose build for it.

Now if someone can figure out how to put the Slice FSK board into the VT75 I would be in heaven

Been down hard more than once, over 100mph one time. All my buddy's want to go buy gxsr's or 103ci Harleys.. I always show em my scares and tell them learn to ride on something small first, I've ridden since I was six, experience won't save you in all situations. But it can keep you out of quite a few

i started on a 250 (lol no joke) for my first bike. i laid it down (highside unfortunately) but didn't have any major injuries. a few fractured ribs, concussion, and a lot of bruising. no road rash as i was wearing all the right gear and was only doing about 55 at the time. Was just a shitty area, on an Indian reservation. the Indian police said everyone crashes there and they should probably have a sign lol. After that i got an FZ1 (1000 cc bike) had it for like 8 years. no crashes thankfully but only put about 5000 miles on it. then just sold it like 6 months ago. Don't have a bike currently but I'll probably get one again but i want something smaller like a 600cc bike. the FZ1 was just too big for me. couldn't even get both feet on the ground and was stupidly fast. like 0-120 in a few seconds. not needed in my older wiser days. something smaller and fun will suit me just fine

Absolutely, my first ride as a kid was a Honda CT70 3 speed no clutch. After that YZ80, XR200, and my first Street legal dirt bike the XL250.

Not sure if this was mentioned before but anyone have an issue with the G2 battery door not seating well with batts installed? Mine seems a just a tad 'rocky' with new 25r's.

Yeah, sure did, it's not the ribbon. Tried rolling the batts to several positions as well making sure they are well seated.

It's not a big issue, just a bit 'clicky' if you know what I mean. The battery door seems well secured.

If the G2 is new make sure the batteries are pushed down really good. When the mod is new the contacts are really stiff. Happened to me the first time I put my batteries in.

Had something weird with my G2 this morning that never happened with my first one. I had 70% battery remaining when I left it sitting on my desk last night. This morning I come in and it is sitting at 0.0%.

Not sure what caused the slow drain on the batteries. I updated to the newest firmware yesterday. Running my standard config of xXx mode without Auto TC.

Any clues what would be causing that thing to drain the batteries? It didn't use any juice so it didn't push enough through the coils to get it cookin but I don't like the fact that is ate 70% of my batteries while just sitting on my desk.

That is weird. I just sent my Vt133 to Evolv for the same exact reason. Damn thing would not hold a charge overnight.

I lent my BIL my Snow wolf 1.5 and when he gave it back the batteries only had 2.3v in them. IDK How that happened.

Glad you hear they finally got back to you.
So ridiculous, took over 10 days to generate a form to have the mod looked at. I have no fucking idea what people are talking about when they rave about how great Evolv's customer service is. One thing is for sure. Their ticket system is slow as shit and archaic at best. I'll take being able to call HT and speak to a live person any day over a ticket system that reduces me to a fucking number.

That is awful strange. I hardly ever shut down my mods at bed time unless charging through device and I have never noticed much battery drain over night. See if it happens again tonight and if not then just chalk it up to one of those unexplained life mysteries. Get a set to 70% at some point today and then switch them out. When you go to bed switch them back so the 70% ones can sit over night, preferably the same set. If it happens again, then try it the next night with a different set at 70% at bed time.

It took <12 hours for their initial response, but took an additional 5 days to get the 2nd. Each day that passed I would respond to my ticket with Evolv, and finally opened a new ticket...Nick apologized and mentioned that their ticket system with each reply puts a ticket at the rear of the queue...Here is his response....

Hi Don,

My apologies for the lack of communication. Our Helpdesk is sometimes limited in its functionality. We work tickets based on oldest to newest, and one of the limitations is any new reply to a ticket updates the "replied" date and time, and bumps it to the back of the line. Looking at your other ticket it looks like it kept ending up at the back of the Waiting Reply tickets.

If you can get the device sent in to us we will get it fixed.

I think their customer service is good, not awesome cause of the ticket response system...so I have to agree with you there.

My point exactly. To Evolv your just a fucking number. VF and HT have real people answer the phones. They handle your issue in an expeditious manner. I hate when companies like Evolv have no phone number or email address. They use their system as a buffer zone against their customers. Not a fan at all.

For me it's not about HT vs. Evolv. It's about treating your customers with respect. Respecting the fact that they had choices and chose you. Using an archaic ticket system is a big fuck you to everyone that spent their hard earned dollars on an Evolv board. What if I scrimped and saved to buy a DNA and this was my only mod? I gotta wait 10 fucking days to get permission to send it back? I'm sorry that's just unacceptable. Not having an 800 number or an email address also proves that customer service is just a low priority for Evolv. If I ever buy another DNA it will probably be a Vaporshark. I'll pay the extra shekels just so I never ever have to deal with this Evolv Bullshit again.

Hey guys, just to add an additional question about battery anomalies with the G2. I have 6 pairs of LG HE-2 married, and while I've noticed a little bit of difference in the voltage between cells after using them, it wasn't much. The other day I took out a pair that was in the G2 at 42-45 % charge and put them on the charger and replaced with another set. I came back later to get the batteries out of the charger and one of them didn't charge. I tried it in all 3 of my chargers and it won't even detect that a battery is in it. How can a mod drain a battery so low it won't charge and still show over a 40% charge when I took them out of the mod? FWIW, these batteries are only a couple of weeks old, and have only gone through maybe 6-8 charge cycles.

the mod doesn't. I've ran mine to 0 % on the slice and G2 and when i pop them in the charger they read out at like 3.4-3.5 volts still IIRC. most batteries are good to run down to 3.2v

where did you buy the batteries from?

I always run mine to well below 10%. Generally till it says recharge batteries. I generally run everything completely dead before charging most of the time, it's better for the batteries I believe. By completely, I mean till what ever is displaying the level reads dead not actual battery voltage to dead. I've never had a problem with any of my 18650s that I have for any mods. The few times I've used my mech I ran them till the vape was not to my liking which still read around 3.6-3.4V I believe on my battery meter

I had some issues with a Vt75 Nano I had. All sorts of oddball issues with it. I contacted Evolve... took a week to hear back from them. When I did, it was just to ship immediately. Thankfully they are here about 3 hours north in Ohio. So I shipped it, they swapped out the chip, and I got it back within 5 days. Initial response time was horrible... no speed to ticket updates, but they fixed it and it worked fine for everything that I didn't like, hence why I sold it off and got another G2 with that sale. I have not had to work with HT support yet. Only Evolve so far out of all of my mods I have had over the last year and a half.

I am pretty sure that battery just went bad, I would not use it anymore. I have only had that happen to me once a long time ago before I had a G2, the battery just would not charge. I then used a friends Xtar VC4 charger which can revive bad batteries and it worked but I retired the cell anyway just because something was not right.

The Xtar VC series has a battery recovery mode it goes into automatically, from what I saw it reverts to a short charge in NM mode then when the battery is good it then goes into Li mode to fully charge it. I wound up picking up a Xtar VC4 myself but generally use my efest Blu6 most of the time.

I really don't see how the G2 may have caused that cell to go bad but you might want to contact Hohmtech and see what they think.

I have an XTAR VC4 that sits on my desk at work. I LOVE this charger. Does a great job and I like the display on it. I have a 2 battery Nitecore that I used before that. I still use that but it just has the blinking lights. I keep that at the house in case I somehow manage to go through 4 sets of batteries over the weekend.

I first used my VCT5a's in the G2, they made it to where when I hit the button and it shows 0% then tossed them on the charger and they read 3.58, which was maybe 6 hours of fiddling and vaping,( not continuous vaping, but maybe every 5 minutes take a toot.) in SS mode and playing in xxx and adjusting the fsk curve. So I attribute the abnormal run time to that.

Now I have my 30Q's in, slapped them in this morning at around 8am fully charged, 11am now, ran half a tank in my Aromamizer, and sitting at 80% via battery bar.

440f 75w xxx fsk 8.3% running on 2.5.5

I bought them from a Vapor Joe deal from Genuinecells on eBay. They have a damn near perfect buyer feedback rating and guarantee that their cells are 100% authentic.
I'd never buy from ebay regardless the seller rating. 90+% of people buying batteries on ebay wouldn't be able to spot a fake from a non fake. hell even most of us here couldn't.

try contacting the seller though and ask for an exchange. couldn't hurt?

good sites are illumn.com liionwholease.com and imrbatteries.com

I only buy my batteries from Liionwholesale. They are in Penn so I get my orders within 2 maybe 3 days. I trust them from everything that I have read online. I buy a pair of batteries every few months from them and so far I have not ever had any issues with the cells that I have gotten from them.

I always see the deals on batteries but I never pull the trigger... no matter how good the deal. I just spend the $13 every few months and get them from them. Some deals... way too tempting. Even had them in the cart but I close out just before ordering. Don't want something blowing up/melting down around my kids or while at work. Don't want people to have an excuse to give vaping a bad name!

Have to assume everyones ribbon was as long as mine...It was long enough to go under both batts, then across the top of both, and pass the battery tray by an inch.

I cut it just shy of making it to the right edge of the battery tray.

It rocked every time til I did that.

I honestly said to myself when I first placed the batteries in, wow this sure is a long ass ribbon. ;-)

Yes the ribbon will cause the door to not seat right. I have a pair of purple Efest bats that I can't use in my black G2. Even with the bibbon on top they are way to tight to get in and out. They work in my silver G2 if I leave the ribbon on top and tuck it around the edges. It's a minor thing to tuck the ribbon a long the edge.

Speaking of my Silver G2. Two weeks ago today I got the forms together and mailed it to the warranty center because it wouldn't power on.:gaah: Happened without warning. Well today it has returned home with a new FSK chip.:vapemail:I is happy..:bliss:

I have some Sony VTC5's and an looking at the VCT6's. I don't buy into the dislike for Efest. I've used them for 3 years of vapeing and have never had a problem with any of them. I even ran a couple of them down so far on a mech they wouldn't fire the RDA. (wasn't paying attention). I thought they were ruined but I put them in the charger and they were fine. And a month ago I used a 3 year old black 2250 mAh Efest to replace the samsung icr 18650 in a solar powered light that quite working after 3 months. Yes I am getting away from them but I can't complain about how they have worked for me.

Understandable but with all the explosions and stuff it's better to use more proven companies.

Ok, what's the general consensus? For $30 bucks the Slice ( as note above on sale) appears to be a bargain, but I haven't followed real closely the issues with that mod or if they were fixed or not. I have a lot of 26650's 'cause I thought they were going to be the hot ticket, and have a Stout and a one off PCWoodmods squonker that use the battery, but don't want to add another mod to the herd unless there is a good chance I will use it. I do have a G2 that does not see a lot of use (has real black carbon fiber panels permanently installed that look killer), and I would consider a trade. But for the Slice, with current prices, it appears there would have to be some cash or other goodies involved. :)

I didn't bother putting it in a cart as I figured they didn't ship to Canada.

There's an option to select international checkout. I'm pretty sure flat rate to Canada is 38usd from what I seen. Also, I couldn't figure out how to get that coupon code to work for my "pretend order". I applied it before I clicked international checkout but it was cleared off as far as I could tell.
