Researchers looked at 11 studies of blueberries, including those conducted with children and those with adults. The scientists reported in the Journals of Gerontology that blueberry ingestion improved cognitive functions including delayed memory and executive function in children.

In older healthy and mildly cognitively impaired adults, it improved delayed memory, executive function, and psychomotor function. Executive function refers to skills such as paying attention, organizing, planning, and prioritizing, as well as starting and completing tasks and regulating emotions.

Studies have also shown that blueberry intake reduces the risk of diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and cognitive decline.

Blueberries contain flavonoids. There are more than 6,000 types of flavonoids, and blueberries contain many different kinds. Scientists think that may be why they are so beneficial.

Blueberries aid memory better than any pharmaceutical product on the market. The medicines prescribed for cognitive problems such as in Alzheimer’s disease are a disaster; they simply do not work. Furthermore, they are too expensive and are associated with serious adverse health effects.

To avoid cognitive decline and to treat brain issues, my advice is to eat a whole food diet free of refined sugar, flour, salt, and oils.

And eat flavonoid-containing foods like blueberries on a daily basis. Your brain will appreciate it.

Beware the Dangers of Refined Grains

"The more refined one is, the more unhappy" was Russian author Anton Chekhov's view of the world. And more than 100 years after he penned that observation, nutritional scientists are shouting it from the rooftops
That’s because eating refined carbohydrates not only fuels depression and some cancers (prostate and breast, for example), it lowers the quality of your life — and shortens it.
Special: The High Blood Pressure Hoax
Researchers looked at data from the Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology (PURE) study to evaluate the association between intakes of refined grains, whole grains, and white rice with cardiovascular disease, total mortality, blood lipids, and blood pressure.
The results published in BMJ found that eating around 12 ounces (seven servings) of refined grains a day was associated with a 27% higher risk of death and a 33% higher risk of serious cardiovascular events and higher blood pressure, compared to those who had the lowest intake of refined grains — about 1.7 ounces, which is the amount contained in about 6 ounces of pasta. (White rice wasn't heart-damaging.)
How easy is it to eat 12 ounces of refined carbs in a day? That's what's in a large serving of McDonald's fries, four slices of hearty white bread, a cup of sugared cereal, one baked potato, two scoops of chocolate ice cream, or three Oreos.
Luckily, it's easy —and tasty — to dodge those refined carbohydrate bullets. Opt for natural sugars in fruits, 100% whole grains, lots of high-fiber veggies, and no ultra-processed foods.
Then you can enjoy the happiness that comes from a lack of refinement.

SIBO Is The New Candida – Bloating And Bacterial Overgrowth

Is SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) At The Root Of Your Health Issues?
We have bacteria in our small intestine, which is where we digest our food, but we have an infinitely higher number of bacteria in the colon (the large intestine).
In its simplest terms, SIBO can be defined as having a bacterial overgrowth of many different types of bacteria that belong in the large intestine, but are in the small intestine.
And when bacteria are in the wrong place, this wreaks havoc on our health.

Bacteria In The Wrong Place Can Lead To The Following Health Issues:​

  • Intestinal permeability (leaky gut syndrome)
  • Liver overload
  • Immune trouble
  • Unbearable bloating
  • And potentially brain toxicity
SIBO significantly impacts our digestion of food and absorption of nutrients (because it damages the gut lining).

One Plagued With SIBO Often Experiences:​

  • Trouble digesting most carbohydrates (FODMAPS)
  • Many food sensitivities
  • Constant, excessive bloating (look 6 months preggo-type bloating)
  • Brain fog
  • Exhaustion (from being undernourished and not digesting your food)
  • Long-standing, stubborn constipation
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Vitamin A or Vitamin D deficiency

A Few Things That Can Cause SIBO:​

  • Antibiotic use (sometimes even just 2 or 3 rounds of antibiotics)
  • Inadequate stomach acid
  • Overconsumption of alcohol, sugar, birth control pills, or NSAIDs (anti-inflammatories)
  • Digestive diseases like Celiac, Crohn’s, and ulcerative colitis. The opening of the ileocecal valve from oversitting or under-activity (this is the valve that separates the small intestine from the large intestine and it is a most important border that must remain closed).
The mission to eradicate SIBO can be complicated and requires a multi-pronged approach, but it's absolutely doable.
And according to the newest research, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is actually SIBO! Tell everyone you know with IBS so they can actually have a game plan to become dis-ease free. :)

Dr. Pimentel, Professor of Medicine at Geffen School of Medicine and an associate professor at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, have now shown that 70% of IBS cases, formerly a diagnosis of exclusion, are SIBO!
This is massive for the field of intestinal health and gives hope to those that were diagnosed with IBS and sent home to deal with life-altering symptoms for the rest of their lives.
This is similar to what happened with Peptic Ulcer disease back in the day....we used to not know why people got these ulcers, but then after years of research, we found that H. pylori was the causative agent in 70% of peptic ulcer disease. Now, anyone with ulcers gets checked for H. pylori!
This TRUE root-cause medicine finally being pushed out in the mainstream is to be celebrated!

Thing's with 5G are ramping up all the time.
When’s the last time you got attacked by a cactus? Or a street light for that matter?
Nope? Me neither. Not yet...

Did you know that for years, artificial cacti have lined the sandy roadsides of North Scottsdale, Arizona? They look real at first glance but tucked inside are antennas and radio equipment that provide 4G wireless connectivity to the area.
Large “hiding” structures like this, which in this case are about 24 feet tall, have become so good it's sometimes hard to tell the real cacti from the fakes.
Pretty scary.

Keeping these gut microorganisms healthy throughout your life is critical because they play a major role in maintaining the proficiency of immune cells in the brain called microglia.

The intestines carry out their functions by a carefully coordinated series of mechanisms involving waves of contraction and relaxation of the intestine (called peristalsis), as well as secretion of a number of enzymes and chemical messengers that regulate digestion and other special operations of the intestines.

Many of these operations depend upon neurotransmitters within the walls of the intestines, which are filled with special nerves (together called the enteric nervous system).

Special: Superpower Your “Second Brain”: Experience Better Immune Health and Overall Well-Being

Probiotic bacteria can produce an assortment of these neurotransmitters. For example, the Escherichia, Bacillus, and Saccharomyces species of bacteria produce norepinephrine; Candida, Streptococcus, Escherichia, and Enterococcus produce 5-hydroxytryptamine (also called serotonin); Bacillus can produce dopamine; and Lactobacillus can produce acetylcholine. While most of this activity is localized within the gut wall, these neurotransmitters can also enter the bloodstream and the nervous system.

These colon bacteria also play an essential role in the development of the brain. During adolescence, we see an increase in psychiatric problems such as schizophrenia, substance abuse, and mood disorders, which may be (at least in part) due to changes in the gut microbiota.

This occurs because inflammatory cells (monocytes) are driven toward the brain by the cytokine TNF alpha, which then activates microglia within the brain. Special probiotics can prevent this.

During adulthood, the mix of beneficial probiotics in the colon stabilizes and becomes more resistant to antibiotic damage. But as we pass into older age, this stability and resistance declines, increasing the activation of brain microglia and hence chronic brain inflammation.

If you really want something, don't give up on it. Nothing worth having comes easy. Take a break if you want, or try a different approach but don't quit. Things take time to materialize. You never know, the right opportunity or resource might be around the corner and if you give up now, you won't be able to see your efforts paying off.
