Food sensitivities are often overlooked or even ignored as being a cause of serious concern because the symptoms often start out very mild.

Food sensitivity is different from true allergy as it rarely is life threatening during an immediate exposure.

That being said, food sensitivities should be honored as your body's way of communicating something is needing to change.

If you are desiring to grow and expand, you should not ignore these messages.

Here are 5 reasons why food sensitivities are a red flag and impacting your next level success.

  1. They indicate that your immune system is out of balance. Although most people think that food sensitivities are just annoying and sometimes embarrassing, they actually indicate loss of oral tolerance. Loss of oral tolerance can create a cascade of disorders such as autoimmune disease, chemical sensitivities, chronic inflammatory disease, or brain degeneration such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimers. In a nutshell, food sensitivities are your body’s way of communicating to you that you are headed towards a more serious inflammatory diagnosis.
  2. Drain you of precious energy and make you tired. When you have food sensitivities, that indicates that you likely also have leaky gut.That means the proteins from those food are ending up in your blood stream and your body is now attacking it like it would a virus or bacteria.This fight takes precious resources and drains you of your energy.
    Your energy is what creates the results you have in your life.Less energy means struggling to create your next level success.
  3. Causes uncomfortable and often embarrassing physical reactions. These can range from bloating that makes you look pregnant. Skin breakouts or rashes that leave you feeling less confident to be seen by the public. Dark circles under your eyes. Joint and other pains in the body.Migraines.Constipation.And many more....All of these physical reactions can result in you feeling less confident in your own skin and less desiring to be in the public eye. The pain can actually cost you time in your business if you have to take time off.
  4. Less capacity to handle stress. Food sensitivities cause inflammation in the body which affect the nervous system, brain and the production of neurotransmitters. This can result in emotional instability, high functioning anxiety, high functioning depression and less resilience of pressure and stress. Numerous studies have shown that emotional intelligence is associated with success within business. The inflammation from the food sensitivities will impact one's emotional intelligence.
  5. Causes confusion. You may have learned along your path to success the saying "stay in your zone of genius". Well, having food intolerances and not knowing which foods cause the reactions or how to get to the root of it all can be overwhelming and confusing.
    You don't have time to waste on stuff like this.You know that spending your time in your zone of genius is what provides success and joy in your life.This is no different.
Identifying food sensitivities can be tricky but it doesn't have to be.

There are many food sensitivity tests out there that are inaccurate.I use a lab that tests foods in cooked, raw, and/or modified forms. The early detection of diet-related triggers of autoimmunity can help you customize an anti-inflammatory diet.

Strict elimination diets without any testing can also be dangerous because if you have lost oral tolerance and not identified the trigger for this immune reaction (which is often not just food related), it is very easy to continue to lose tolerance to more foods and find yourself on a very limited diet.

The inflammatory spike after food exposure happens 21 days later.

Test don't guess and work with a practitioner to figure the big picture.

It's rarely solely due to food.

Two More Reasons to Fight Inflammation

Motivational speaker Zig Ziglar said, "Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment."

If he's right, then you should have vanquished your chronic inflammation — because we sure have repeated the warnings about its dangers. (It fuels cancer, depression, heart disease, gastrointestinal distress, impotence, dementia, and wrinkles.)

But many people still battle it. So here are two more reasons to act now to put out that fire:

Prevent testosterone deficiency. Insufficient testosterone affects 20%-50% of men in the United States. And a recent study in The Journal of Urology found that chronic inflammation, triggered by a diet loaded with sugars and unhealthy fats, is a major cause. In fact, the researchers found that guys who eat such a pro-inflammatory diet are 30% more likely to have testosterone deficiency, compared to men eating an anti-inflammatory diet. And those who eat inflammation-stoking food and have obesity are 60% more likely to contend with it.

Manage complications of atherosclerosis. A study in the journal Nature reveals that inflammation is a culprit linking diabetes, disturbed sleep, an unbalanced microbiome, smoking, and elevated triglycerides and LDL cholesterol to the complications of atherosclerosis, such as heart attacks and strokes. Tamp it down, and you avoid big trouble.

So, one more time, here’s your battle plan. Cool inflammation, lower your risk of heart disease (everyone), and raise your testosterone level (guys) with regular exercise; by ditching sugars, highly processed foods, and red and processed meats; and adopting stress management.

In addition, add plenty of odd omegas, including omega-7 and omega-3 DHA from fish or supplements.

Dr. Mehmet Oz is host of the popular TV show “The Dr. Oz Show.” He is a professor in the Department of Surgery at Columbia University and directs the Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program and New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

We homeschooled our kids through high school. They had a better social life than we did. Church youth group and several homeschool groups provided interaction and one of the groups even had proms. Both graduated from college, the youngest with a double major (two degrees) with summa cum laude honors.

The public school kids that are boxed in and masked are being robbed of necessary interaction and will be unable to read social clues from facial expressions.

Talk and Listen to Your Toddlers

Written by Sting (he credits his infant son at the time with the lyrics: "I've never paid him, so that's another possible lawsuit"), "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da (Is all I want to say to you)" actually might be expressive enough to raise a child's IQ by an average of 14 to 27 percent.

That's according to a study published in Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The point that the researchers were making is that toddlers between 18 and 24 months of age who take more turns speaking in a back-and-forth dialogue with adults — even though they may not be using real words — develop higher "expressive vocabulary scores nine to 14 years later."

The researchers looked at three age groups: 2 to 17 months; 18 to 24 months; and over 25 months.

That's pretty impressive research.

So when you're with your child, boy or girl, put down the cellphone and have discussions with your little one, especially during this very powerful developmental stage in his or her life.

Dr. Russell Blaylock, M.D., writes:

Degeneration (atrophy) of skeletal muscles is very common, but most physicians have no idea what to do about it.

Age-related loss of muscle is most likely caused by inflammation, which increases with aging. In addition, obesity and diabetes both accelerate muscle loss, because both are inflammatory.

Fortunately, a great deal of new research is discovering that natural compounds can not only prevent age-related muscle loss, but even reverse it.

For instance, fruit from the Schisandra chinensis plant (also called magnolia vine) has been shown to prevent age-related muscle atrophy and improve muscle strength and energy production in aged test animals.

Other compounds that have demonstrated this benefit include quercetin, curcumin, and resveratrol, especially when they are used in combination. Resveratrol has been shown to improve muscle strength and muscle diameter in older men.

Quercetin has also been shown to protect muscles from inflammation and atrophy associated with obesity.

These compounds work much better in conjunction with regular exercise, especially resistance exercises. In fact, exercise stimulates the antioxidant network, thus protecting the muscles against damage.

One interesting finding showed that elderly men who take omega-3 oils increase protein synthesis in their muscles, increase mitochondrial function, and enhance muscle response to exercises.

DHA has also been shown to preserve muscle mass under conditions that cause muscle atrophy.

Other studies indicate that the EPA component of omega-3 oils improves muscle protein quality and mitochondrial energy production in aging muscles — benefits not seen using DHA alone. This indicates that using a complete omega-3 oil, such as Carlson’s Norwegian oil, would be more effective against muscle loss.

Depletion of L-carnitine is associated with fatigue, muscle weakness, and muscle atrophy. Supplementing with L-carnitine can relieve these symptoms. The compound has also been shown to prevent muscle loss in cancer patients (a condition called cancer cachexia).

One study examined the nutritional intake of older men with age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia) versus men of the same age without muscle atrophy. The researchers found that the former had significantly lower intakes of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin E, and magnesium.

A group of organic compounds called branched-chain amino acids — including leucine, isoleucine, and valine — can also stimulate muscle building. In studies, aged mice that exercised while being given leucine significantly improved muscle restoration and prevention of muscle atrophy. The benefit of branched-chain amino acids has also been shown in patients with liver disease, a condition that causes severe muscle loss. Branched-chain amino acids can be purchased as a supplement.

Beware of Chemicals in Consumer Products

Ludwig van Beethoven once declared, "Only the pure of heart can make a good soup."

Unfortunately, many soups you're exposed to (we're not talking chicken noodle or split pea) are made from chemicals found in personal beauty and hygiene products.

Parabens, used as antimicrobial preservatives in personal care products, fragrances, pharmaceuticals and foods, are known to negatively affect male hormones and reproductive systems.

Now there's an indication that when they're combined with repeated exposure to other chemicals in consumer products, they affect women's reproductive health too.

Researchers from George Mason University took 509 urine samples from 143 women ages 10 to 44. They found that the women's urine contained parabens, benzophenones (filters that block ultraviolet light), chlorphenols (a biocide that suppresses immune system defenses), and BPA (a hormone disruptor found in plastics and cash register receipts).

Various levels and combinations of these chemicals were associated with damage to women's ovarian function and increases and decreases in normal levels of reproductive hormones.

You should read ingredient labels (the small type); dodge added nonessential-oil fragrances (parabens show up in them, but not on labels), and fragrance suppressors (same problem); refuse receipts or wash hands immediately after touching them; and use certified personal/beauty products free of toxic chemicals.

*-- Sleep Does Not Equal Rest --*

No more constantly sleeping and still feeling exhausted. The secret is easy, you're missing out on other equally important types of rest.

1. Physical Rest - Yes, sleep is physically important. It can be taking a cat nap or sleeping through the whole night. This is usually the easiest rest to replenish, but it can be impacted by any of the six others.

2. Mental Rest - Can't turn your mind off at night? Try scheduling a short break every two hours during the day. Remind yourself you need a break and calm yourself with a few moments to clear your mind, or keep a notebook by the bed to jot down those nagging thoughts that keep you up.

3. Sensory Rest - All the screens, phone calls, and lights can overload our senses. Take a moment to close your eyes for a minute during the day. On the way home from work, turn off the radio in the car. At the end of the day, intentionally unplug for an hour before you go to bed. Give yourself a break from the overstimulation.

4. Creative Rest - Do you remember how you felt the first time you saw the ocean? Put up a few images of places that make you appreciate the world, works of art, or even an item that shows off what you are passionate about outside of work.

5. Emotional Rest - If you're non confrontational or a people pleaser? You need emotional rest more than others. Try not to agree to do any favors for anyone this week. Say No once in a while be honest with yourself and others, when you don't have it in you to do everything.

6. Social Rest - Surround yourself with positive and supportive people. We have a habit of mirroring those around us. So be sure you spend social time face to face with people who want nothing more than your presence. Distance yourself from toxic people.

7. Spiritual Rest - A sense of love and acceptance beyond yourself. Consider volunteering or attending anything that gives you a sense of community.

8. Beauty Rest - Staying on top of your beauty game can be a lot of work, but why not do yourself a favor and give yourself the best treatment while you sleep? Bye Bye Bedhead Satin Pillow Case 2-Pack

Eating Protein Can Aid Weight Loss

In 2018, Icelander Hafthor Julius Bjornsson — known for his role as "The Mountain" Gregor Clegane on the HBO series "Game of Thrones" — won the World's Strongest Man competition.

Bjornsson eats eight meals a day and lifts literally tons of weights. His meals consist of lean meats, grains, vegetables, and healthy fats found in avocados and peanut butter.

"I eat quite healthy for a big guy ... but you get sick of eating all the time,” he said at the time. “Today, I was supposed to have chicken with sweet potatoes and greens. Because I didn't want that, I had salmon. We have very good fish in Iceland."

It's true that high protein foods are good to eat after resistance exercise. They encourage muscle building.

But did you know that if you eat the right amount of protein after working out, it can also help you lose weight?

It works because refueling with protein after muscle-strengthening activities increases the amount of energy-burning muscle mass, and that uses up extra calories.

To take advantage of the muscle building and weight loss:

• Eat protein up to two hours after working out to fuel protein synthesis.

• Enjoy protein from salmon, trout, or skinless chicken.

• Eat 20-30 grams of protein (that’s the equivalent of 4 ounces cooked salmon or 3.5 ounces grilled chicken breast).

I have another encouraging stage IV survival story for you today!

California has a rona tracking app that I don't have installed. Monday I got a text from the state asking if I had the app and if I did should they notify everyone who has the app I may have been near. This is 3 weeks after I had the ronacrom and notification would be useless as they would have had it already. I didn't reply except to cancel any further inquiries.
