Dear Friend,
Just like us, viruses want to survive. To do so, they need to mutate and outsmart acquired immune defenses. These mutated forms are called variants, and their severity and contagiousness, compared to the original virus, can range from mild to severe.

That is why we’ve all had more than one cold virus in our lives. And, most importantly, this underscores why you must be vigilant about keeping your immune system ready. A well-trained, balanced, and optimized immune system is your best defense against all types of viruses and their variants.

An optimized immune system can develop antibodies to fight new viruses and their variants. How quickly it does this depends on how well your immune system functions. Discover the best natural remedies to strengthen your immune function and help protect you against colds, flu, and other viruses.

Hot Bath May Benefit Leg Circulation

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) occurs when cholesterol builds up in blood vessels supplying blood to the legs, slowing or even blocking the flow of blood. The condition affects about 8.5 million Americans.

Symptoms include pain or cramping when walking, loss of muscle mass, skin that's cool to the touch, and sores or ulcers on the legs or feet that are slow to heal.

Special: Heart Surgeon's Secret to Healthy Blood Pressure

Regular physical activity and supervised exercise programs are key treatments for PAD. However, the authors of a recent study suggest soaking in hot water followed by light exercise may benefit PAD as much as a longer exercise session.

Researchers compared blood pressure and walking distance in two groups, each with 11 PAD patients. One group did up to 90 minutes of walking and resistance training once or twice a week.

The other group, dubbed the heat therapy group, soaked in a pool with warm water (about 102 degrees Fahrenheit) for 20 to 30 minutes and then did up to 30 minutes of calisthenics three to five times a week.

"There was no evident difference between the effects observed in heat therapy via spa bathing and a supervised exercise program," wrote Ashley Akerman and colleagues from the University of Otago and Dunedin Public Hospital in New Zealand.

Dr. Yi-Ming Yang, associate director of peripheral intervention at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, called the idea of using heat therapy to alleviate symptoms of claudication "provocative." Yang said the heat therapy likely increased circulation around the clogged or narrowed blood vessels in the legs.

The beliefs we have about ourselves and others often confine the way we see the world. Many of us get caught up in mistaking our beliefs for facts and look for external evidence to prove them right, or at least keep them alive. With the right tools, however, we can become aware of the patterns that don’t serve us and feel liberated as the creators of our own lives.
Today on The Dhru Purohit Podcast, Dhru sits down with international speaker and philanthropist Shelly Lefkoe to talk about the top ways our belief systems hold us back from living our most fulfilling lives. Dhru and Shelly share their personal stories about overcoming their limiting beliefs and how understanding where they come from is key to letting them go.

One area of research that has become increasingly popular over the past decade has been the body of science that confirms what we’ve all pretty much known for our entire adult lives - exercise is good for us.
And as a neurologist interested in the impact of lifestyle choices on the brain, I have naturally been drawn to the wide-ranging studies demonstrating a clear connection between physical exercise and brain health, and especially the relationship between exercise and risk reduction for Alzheimer’s disease.
But one question almost always surfaces when we explore the relationship between exercise and various health parameters, and it centers on the type of exercise that a person chooses to pursue.
Indeed, there are studies showing how aerobic exercise benefits cardiovascular health, and resistance exercises of various sorts seem helpful for the brain.
So, to cover the bases, my recommendations over the years have generally messaged the notion of exercise diversity, meaning cultivating a program that pushed strength training as well as aerobic conditioning...

Holistic Farming and Improving the Food Chain

In this episode, I am joined by Joel Salatin–American farmer, lecturer, author, and owner of Polyface Farm. He uses successful, unconventional agricultural methods which are “beyond organic”.

Much is covered during this podcast, but stay until the end to learn how our food-spending habits are changing with the times. While we used to spend 18% of our income on food and less on health, now it is the opposite. I see this need to spend more on health in direct correlation with the quality and nutrient density of today’s foods. Spend more money on good quality food that is high in nutrients and you’ll spend less on hospital bills, etc. I can't wait for you to listen to this episode!

Dear Jimi,

If you’ve been part of our IRT community for a while, you probably have some friends and family you would LOVE to bring on board—with their diet, their understanding of GMOs, and the new issues related to gene editing.

But face it, we often have zero credibility left for close friends who’ve heard us talking about this for years—and haven’t budged. You probably gave up trying (or perhaps they quietly excuse themselves when you try yet again.)

My advice: Don’t try this at home.

It won’t work. Let me do it for you.

That’s right. Give me a chance to engage and let’s see if it finally does the trick.

That’s why I created this video. It’s a faced-paced delivery of the essential points about GMOs, Roundup, eating organic, Monsanto’s lies, the FDA’s collusion, GMO 2.0, the threat to future generations, and the urgency of protecting the microbiome.

I was planning to present this straight to a camera, but my close friend Robert Scott Bell invited me on his show this week. So I decided to hijack the interview and turn it into this video, which you can give as a gift to your friends and family this season.

I’m also making it available as an audio download here, as many people are far more likely to listen to this like a podcast in their car than watch it on video.
Click the image below to watch now
Enjoy listening and sharing, and please let us know the impact. Did it finally do the trick with your mom, dad, kids, college friends, etc.?

Good luck!

Break free from the chains of the past. You no longer have to remain bound by the events of the past.

You can't change the past but you can choose to control where you direct your attention in the present.

And that's all that matters. It's not too late. You can still achieve your dreams. You can still be who you want to be.

You can create the life you really want. Breathe and let go of the thoughts, memories, and beliefs that hold you back.

Strive to make constant progress. Focus on the process of inner healing. Things will get better.

Hi Jimi,

Use of a little known super-pesticide made from the same ingredient as Agent Orange is skyrocketing across the United States.

Now sold by Dow Chemical under the name Enlist, it travels through the air, soil, and water, destroying the organic crops, native plants, and wildlife habitats in its path. It’s been found in our water…and threatens hundreds of endangered species.

Together, we’re going to stop it.

In 2017, Center for Food Safety took the Environmental Protection Agency to court to halt its approval of this killer chemical cocktail. But early this year, EPA reapproved it for seven more years!

Our legal team got right to work and filed an intent to sue the EPA (again!) to revoke Enlist’s reapproval, but we’re gearing up for a long fight ahead.

Natural Health Tip:

Lignans, which are abundant in seeds and have anti-inflammatory and carcinogen-deactivating effects, aid in slowing the formation of cancer cells. Additionally, they contain high levels of phytate, a rare cancer-fighting substance that lessens the impact of free radicals and lowers the chance of contracting cancer.
According to a study conducted at Duke University and the University of Toronto in Canada, seeds like flaxseed can aid in lowering tumor development indicators in both men and women with prostate cancer and breast cancer.
Make sure to include seeds in your diet if you want to boost your chances of avoiding and overcoming cancer and living a healthier, longer life.

Thought to Ponder:

According to the cancer stem cell theory, Breast Cancer Stem Cells can be responsible for relapse even after all “observable” signs of a tumor are gone.

But the truth is it is not difficult to kill breast cancer stem cells.

There are substances in nature whose job it is to hunt out and eradicate cancer stem cells.

Merry Christmas Jimi!
I want to share some wonderful and inspiring survivor interviews from 2022 that you may have missed. As you will see, these amazing, against-the-odds healing stories have many similarities, including the single most important factor:
They all believed they could get well.
And that belief inspired radical life-changing action.
That’s the foundation of the Beat Cancer Mindset.
Believe that healing is possible.
Believe you can overcome cancer.
Believe that your life will be better after cancer than it was before.
Believe that your Heavenly Father is guiding your steps and working everything for your good.

Remember, you can’t doubt and believe at the same time. You must believe and take action! That is exactly what each of these people did to beat cancer. I want to share these inspiring stories with you again to give you hope and strengthen your belief that healing is possible. Enjoy!
Dr. Ruby Lathon (thyroid)
Rob Mooberry (stage IV colon)
Dr. Dale Figtree (non-Hodgkin's lymphoma)
Skip Stein (prostate)
Georges Cordoba (stage IV melanoma)
Cortney Campbell (Hodgkin's lymphoma)
Ivonne Vielman (non-Hodkin's lymphoma)
Bill Buvens (stage IV colon and liver)
And I realized I didn't interview any breast cancer survivors in 2022, so here's a "Chris Beat Cancer Classic." My interview with breast cancer survivor and Iron Man champ Dr. Ruth Heidrich.
Merry Christmas and love to you all!

Don't Stop Exercising as You Age

By Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen, MDs

World War II veteran Barbara June Gage, now 102, chronicled her life in the book "Flight Nurse: From Pearl to Tokyo" (written under her married name, Gruning).

When she turned 100, the nurses at her care facility in Lakewood, New Jersey, said the key to Gage's longevity was her rigorous daily workout: leg lifts with weights, stretches, and more.

Special: Doctors Witness Amazing Joint Pain Changes

That doesn't surprise us. We're always advocating more exercise (and a Mediterranean diet), and pointing out that no matter how old you are, it's never too late to start.

A study published in the European Heart Journal reconfirms those facts. Researchers looked at a group of participants, average age of 67 (47% men, 53% women), and found that if you're doing less and less moderate and vigorous exercise when you're 60 and older, you're at a 27% higher risk for heart disease and stroke compared with your peers who get more exercise.

In contrast, they found that if you increase your exercise habits, you reduce your risk for cardiovascular woes by 11%. That's a 37% swing!

The researchers defined moderate exercise as 30-plus minutes a day of brisk walking, dancing, or gardening, and vigorous exercise as 20-plus minutes a day of running, cycling, or aerobics.

Work with your doctors to create an exercise routine that makes you healthier. If you join a workout class for older adults, research shows that it not only promotes longevity, it increases quality of life too.

A Research Gate study uncovered a mysterious toxin behind autoimmune disease:

A 50-year-old woman had been suffering from pain and fatigue for more than 10 years.

Her debilitating symptoms lead to a fibromyalgia diagnosis.

Strangely enough, during a vacation in a foreign country, her pain and exhaustion suddenly vanished...

However, her symptoms reappeared in the days following her return home…

Which made her believe something she was eating or drinking might have caused her the symptoms.

And she was absolutely right.

As it turns out, when she was home, she used aspartame as a sugar replacement.

After she excluded aspartame from her diet, her autoimmune disease vanished completely.

Aspartame is just one of the many toxins associated with autoimmune disease.

My research team and I have found 23 toxins in our food that are even more dangerous…

Download my eBook, 23 Toxic Threats in Our Food that Trigger Autoimmune Disease & How to Reverse Their Effects now and see if these toxins could be the trigger for your autoimmune symptoms:

Hi Jimi ~

Happy Christmas! I hope this year’s holidays find you surrounded by the vibration of love and friendship and healing, because we know those things are incredibly powerful.

I have made it my mission to do good in the world….sounds corny I know (and I am no saint, I assure you). But that’s what motivates me above all else.

I believe that this is something everyone should aspire to. It really would make the world a better place….kind of a ripple/resonance effect. And I’m in the very fortunate position of being able to do that more than most because of a growing international following, that’s to say you dear reader.

So in the spirit of doing good - and in the spirit of Christmas - I invite you to download a free chapter of Dr. Jill Carnahan’s new best seller, Unexpected, and explore one of the most impactful stories of resilience I have ever read.

Plant-Based Cookies for Santa 🎅
(full recipe in this email below)
This year Santa is going plant-based!

Make sure to keep him happy so you stay on the nice list and he leaves you some goodies under your tree!

Here's a simple cookie recipe with just 5 ingredients that you can make tonight!

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Bananas
  • 1/4 cup Medjool Dates
  • 1 tbsp Ground Flaxseed
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups Rolled Oats
Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a food processor or large mixing bowl, combine the chopped bananas, pitted (and softened) dates, ground flaxseed, and cinnamon. Blend or stir until the mixture is smooth and wet.
  3. If using a food processor, transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl. Add the rolled oats to the wet ingredients, and stir until they’re thoroughly mixed.
  4. Divide the batter into 8 equal portions, and place them on your prepared baking sheet, evenly spaced. Each portion will be roughly 2 heaping tablespoons.
  5. The cookies will not change shape in the oven, so flatten them out and gently shape them into cookies before baking.
  6. Bake for about 12 minutes, or until the cookies’ edges begin to brown slightly.
  7. Remove the pan from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
  8. Transfer the slightly cooled cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve for Santa (with plant-based milk) and save some to enjoy yourself too!

Don't get sick during the holidays [here's how]

Hi there!
It's that time of year again - the holidays are here and cold and flu season is upon us! But don't worry, your immune system has got your back.
Your immune system is like a superhero team made up of white blood cells, antibodies, and other cells and proteins that work together to protect your body from harmful invaders like viruses and bacteria. When a cold or flu virus tries to sneak into your body, your immune system jumps into action to fight it off.
So how can you help your immune system do its job? Here are a few tips:
  • Get plenty of sleep: Your body needs rest to repair and rebuild itself, so make sure you're getting enough z's.
  • Eat a healthy diet: Your body needs the right fuel to keep your immune system running smoothly. Fill your plate with fruits, vegetables, and other nutrient-rich foods like eggs and high quality meats.
  • Stay active: Exercise helps boost your immune system, so try to get some physical activity in each day.
  • Wash your hands: Proper hand hygiene is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of cold and flu viruses.
In addition to these tips, there are also some nutritional supplements that may help support your immune system. These include:
  • Vitamin C: This antioxidant helps support the immune system and may help reduce the severity and duration of colds. You can find it in foods like oranges, strawberries, and bell peppers, or you can take it as a supplement.
  • Zinc: This mineral is essential for the proper functioning of the immune system. It can be found in foods like meat, shellfish, and beans, or you can take it as a supplement.
  • Vitamin D: This vitamin helps support the immune system and may also help reduce the risk of respiratory infections. You can get it from foods like fatty fish and fortified foods, or you can take it as a supplement.
  • Elderberry extract: Elderberry is a plant that has been used for centuries to treat colds and flu. Some studies have shown that taking elderberry extract may help reduce the severity and duration of these conditions.
  • Medicinal mushrooms: Some mushrooms, such as reishi and maitake, have been used in traditional medicine to boost the immune system. They may also have antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects.

Comprehensive Stroke Center Offers Revolutionary Treatments

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Should you suspect you’re having a stroke, you’re more likely to get revolutionary treatments if you go to a comprehensive stroke center because those facilities meet specific criteria developed in collaboration with the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association.

Special: 'Heart Attacks in the Brain' Escalating in Baby Boomer Population

These centers treat both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. They also offer 24-hour-a-day stroke treatment, including minimally invasive care, neurosurgery capabilities, and a dedicated neuroscience intensive care unit.

Having neurological services available day and night can mean the difference between recovering from your stroke or dying — or spending the rest of your life paralyzed.

There are over 1,100 comprehensive stroke centers in the United States. You can find the closest at the National Stroke Association’s database at stroke.org.

If you do not live near one of these certified stroke centers, ask your doctor which facilities provide the best urgent stroke care.
