How Much Alcohol Per Day Is Too Much?

You may have heard that one serving of alcohol per day can protect your health. But don’t raise your glass just yet — a study suggests it might be better to cut that amount in half.

Oxford University researchers wanted to determine the optimal amount of alcohol that would correlate to the fewest deaths from chronic disease across England. Previous studies have often looked at the separate effects of alcohol on heart disease, liver disease, or cancers alone.

Special: The Hidden Cause of Fatigue and Low Energy

Using a statistical model, the scientists found that cutting alcohol intake to just over half a unit a day would save over 4,600 lives a year. Half a unit is as little as a quarter of a glass of wine or a quarter of a pint of beer. This is lower than both U.K. government recommendations and American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

While the AHA does not recommend drinking alcohol for health benefits, the organization does acknowledge that numerous medical studies suggest “moderate” amounts of alcohol may be beneficial.

A “moderate” amount is defined as one to two drinks per day for men, and one drink per day for women. (A drink is defined here as 12 ounces of beer, 4 ounces of wine, 1.5 ounces of 80-proof spirits, or 1 ounce of 100-proof spirits.)

To get the benefits of alcohol without any risk, try drinking a small glass of organic grape juice each day.

As you’ll recall from prior updates, the attorneys that represent ICAN are representing the plaintiff in a lawsuit against the FDA to obtain Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine documents. April’s production of the Pfizer documents is made up of 52 PDFs – you may want to check out these yourself:
  • This study appears to contain a detailed two-page list of miscarriages that occurred after vaccination, as well as adverse events suffered by infants who were exposed to the vaccine via breastfeeding.
  • This study shows that one way Pfizer determined whether an adverse event was related to vaccination was based on timing. The study looks at adverse events in different intervals of time. A “risk interval” for certain adverse events was 1-42 days after a dose and a “post-vaccination control interval” was 43-84 days after a dose (or less in some cases). In many cases, if an individual happened to suffer a health event both during the year prior to vaccination as well as during the “risk interval,” the event will “not be counted.” Meaning if an individual suffered from Guillain Barré Syndrome during the year prior to vaccination (say, for example, after a flu vaccine) and then had another case of it during the 42 days after a dose of the Pfizer vaccine, it would not be counted. As the document itself notes, “an erroneously short risk interval may similarly result in underestimation of effect when using post-vaccination time intervals for self-control.”
  • Both this document and this document list the individuals in the study who died, suffered an adverse event or serious adverse event, withdrew, or who got COVID after vaccination.
  • This document curiously references “reactogenicity data changes as requested [by the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER)] (including flags) in the teleconference held on April 8, 2021 and nothing additional,” which appears to suggest that Pfizer was changing some data at the request of the FDA.
  • This document appears to be another textbook example of how Pfizer simply glossed over adverse events, stating, “Few severe AE [(Adverse Events)] were reported but were considered not related to study intervention.”

6 Ways to Combat Dark Circles

Hydrate

When your body is in need of water, the skin beneath your eyes begins to look dull and your eyes appear sunken. This is due to their close proximity to the underlying bone. Stay hydrated so that the water can flush out the toxins and excess salt from your system which can cause puffiness as well.

Coffee Grounds

The caffeine and coffee grounds can do wonders for puffiness. It acts as an anti-inflammatory aid that can help reduce redness and tighten your skin. So once you'd brewed your morning joe, let the grinds cool and place beneath your eyes for 15-20 minutes and wakeup your eyes!

Eye Creams and/or Serums

Pamper your eyes, especially at night! Find a hydrating eye cream and apply to a clean face before bed. Less than a pea size is needed! Use your weakest finger, the ring finger, to dab lightly around the eye occipital bone (around your eye socket). Don't apply it directly under your eye because when the product warms it will melt into your eye, the bone structure around your eyes will allow it to settle beneath your eye. You can also use eye serum in the morning too, just apply 5 minutes before applying makeup.

Eye Strain

We've all heard that blue light can be bad for you, and it puts strain only our eyes, causing you to squint. This can cause the blood vessels around your eyes to enlarge and the skin surrounding your eyes can darken. So limit your screen time, take breaks every hour or so and look outside for twenty seconds to ease the strain.


High Pigment Concealer

They key here is a high pigment, meaning the concentration of color in a concealer. You also want a tiny bit of an orange-y tone. Liquid concealers tend to have little pigment since their water base can't hold much. Creams concealers do a better job at actually concealing because it can hold more color, you'll use much less concealer and just powder lightly after use. If you dislike a powder feeling around your eyes, dampen a sponge and roll over the powdered area to bring back a dewy finish!

Get Enough Sleep

Not getting enough sleep can cause your skin to become dull and pale, which allows dark tissues and blood vessels beneath your skin to show. Sticking to a sleep schedule works wonders, so try to get 7-8 hours a night.

Today we’re talking about one of the things everyone should be talking about… But no one does.



Sexual desire. Libido. Sexual response. Orgasms.



Or the lack thereof ⬆️.



You can’t say we didn’t warn you 😂.



We so often come across female patients who report that their libido seems to be missing in action… They can’t find it anywhere, and it’s been MIA for quite some time.



Sound familiar, Jimi??



If you’re one of the many women who struggle with sexual desire, we know that it can have a serious impact on the relationship with your significant other.



It puts a serious damper on romance and can really take a toll on your mental health.



There are so many reasons why you may be lacking that desire… We’re going to take a look at some of them and some tips on how you can find your AWOL libido.



Fatigue is the most highly reported reason for low sexual desire in our patients.



When you are stressed or sleep-deprived, it causes your adrenal glands to secrete cortisol– the stress hormone.



Cortisol is great when you’re about to be eaten by a lion or hit by a bus– but any other time, it can be bad news.



Cortisol does so many cool things– like protect you in that bus situation… But it can also do things that aren’t so wonderful– like impact your sex drive and suppress ovulation.



Now, this whole reaction goes back to primitive times– when stress on your body meant that you could be in serious danger or your life was at risk… You know, that whole fight or flight concept??



In those times, high stress and a lot of cortisol told the body that reproducing probably wasn’t a great idea right then.



Which means, that body in crisis wasn’t really interested in canoodling.



And here you are, thousands of years later, living life in a constant state of heightened stress, overwhelm, and fatigue…



So what do you think that means for your sexual desire??



Yep, you guessed it… Gonzo.



So what in the world do you do to get it back??



You have to find some balance in your life. That constant stressful state is wreaking havoc on your entire body– your libido is just part of it.



Balance… Easier said than done, right?



Here are a few things you can do to prioritize your wellness (and reduce your stress and fatigue).



🔍 Carve out some time in your day– every day– just for you.



No, folding laundry doesn’t count.



This is quiet time where you hit the “off” button… No problem solving, answering questions, doing chores, helping others… Just time for you.



It can start out as 10 minutes a day– but this is SO important for rewiring your brain. You have to learn to flip that cortisol switch off and on again– instead of it being on 24 hours a day.



🔍 Fix those relationship issues…



Find a way to address any underlying issues that could be quietly impacting your desire.



Whether it's financial issues, having more support around the house, or career-related, find the best way for you and your partner to work through those struggles… It could really help get that desire back.



🔍 Put that racing brain to good use!



You probably have the constant list of to-dos running through your brain. And that can be really distracting when it comes time for intimacy.



So use that to your advantage… Brainstorm some fun, exciting things you and your partner can do. Give that brain things to do to focus on romance.

Did you try that modified citrus pectin? Why am I asking of coarse you didn't or you wouldn't be havin that. Get a high quality organic modified citrus pectin and start using it every day, ;)
