My Vegas Problem: Shortly after I turned 21, some friends and I cruised through Vegas on our way to rock climb in Utah. A few of em wanted to check out the new (at the time) roller coaster at New York, New York. After the coaster, everyone was using the facilities before taking off again. I got in first and was out quickly. I had my back against a slot machine, and an old lady was giving me the stink eye. It wasn't like she was using it. I took the only 2 quarters I had and plugged em in. The noise! I had no idea. The sirens went off, and I thought I was in trouble. Some uniforms walked over to me and handed me a $1k check and told me I could cash it there (and they pointed to where). At 21, we weren't making the best decisions, so the whole situation still gives me the willies. I almost put my arms up when those alarms went off.

Part II: I was in a nightmare, except that it was real. I hate boats. Hate them. I can make myself car sick, so a boat kills me. My mom's family thought it would be a great bonding adventure to take one of those cheapo cruises. I couldn't go anywhere without a plastic trash bag, hopped up on dramamine, and those sticky things that go behind the ears. No matter how many times I heard that no one gets sick with those things...well...I'm that person. One night on the way back from the on-board doc, a new room had opened. I guess once you're on the open seas, gambling becomes legal. What did my eyes gaze upon? Slots. It was all a sham, and there was one which caught my eye. I waited for a few minutes, and some lady who could barely stand won on my machine. She won my thousand, so my hopes diminished. I know the chances of winning are nil and know the chances winning on one that just cashed out are impossible, but I like the way the pictures looked. When I walked up, I didn't realize that it was a dollar machine. Pretty pricey for me. I figured nothing else could go wrong on the trip and put in the maximum...$4. I didn't just get sirens. I got shit flying from the ceiling. I won the pot, the big pot, and then I threw-up in my bag.

Part III: I have these expectations that I'm supposed to win since it happened twice. It hasn't happened since, and I've tried too many times. That's the thing with luck...it's not real.

What is your machine, RP, which one?

I'm not asking for luck, just curious.

Oh yes! She still lives in Texas so I haven't seen here in a few months but I love having her around. She's moving down here soon so we've gotta find the perfect place for her and it's been fun hitting the thrift stores as we are both thrift store junkies and fans of shit we don't need but will buy for $1. LOL

Yep, very common. It's generally the guy that wants to keep gambling (to win it back). I have seen so many people lose so much. Cars, homes, jobs. Keep it fun, ok?
A daily occurrence at my place of employment, a Native American casino.

28 imo. Not too thin not too thick. Can get anywhere from .5 to 1.5 ohm ant it will fit fine.
+1 for 28g on a KF! I currently am running a huge 22g, 0.6ohm, coil to just have fun with the KF 3.1, but it isn't pratical for the device. A good 7/8 wrap, 2mm ID contact micro coil gives a great vape @ about 1.3-1.5ohms with normal cotton wicking.

@glassgrl, I added the FW Blood Orange to this and it turned out a perfect rainbow flavor mix. This a decent rainbow sherbert recipe.

2% INW Raspberry
1% TFA Key Lime
1.5%-2% FW Blood Orange *1.5% is milder, 2% is with an orange bite
0.5% TFA Sweet Cream
1% TFA Vanilla Ice Cream

Thrift stores are great!

I live with a recovering gambler. Its a crazy addiction!
I lived close to Atlantic city most of my life. before I knew her.
Never found an interest in it except for the alcohol & the beach.

Who mentioned prepping? Ya - I have tendencies. Not super organized right now but in office/ basement I haz enough stuff to eat, have light, ways to cook, keep away zombies. A few of my neighbors says if SHTF they are coming here. :/

<-- Doesn't want to be responsible today

The temple actually is cool, at night, when the lights are on.

I was just curious because that's where I am. It's a small town, so most people have never heard of it.

My office is just off of 29 & JCB / Mountain Industrial. Small world :)

My wife and I used to live near Arcado / Killian Hill; it got too crowded for us so we sold the house and moved up to Buford.

OMG! That one has eggs in it?!?! Wow.
With all the cooking I do on my smoker - I have yet to do one of those.
And I run my smoker quite a bit
ok.. making a note smoke a fatty (the food kind) very very soon.

LMK if you try?

Lol. Will do. There are about a thousand different Fatty recipes on that site. That one looked great, and there are several more I'd like to try.

@HH 1st it's gritty balls... I mean grit balls and gravy now rice balls...

I'll also eat sausage balls, meatballs, cheese balls, and confections in the shape of balls like donut holes, popcorn balls, and truffles.

I'm a hands on learner. i need to hold something in my hands and mess with it to get to know it and understand it.
Why don't women get that? I'm just trying to understand them... no need to involve the police

Also, a couple of pics through my window of the storm the other day.

Blackness approaching...there was a huge amount of dust and smoke blowing in ahead of the storm

The 60-70' Tree next door trying to blow sideways. You can see where one of the branches already fell off in the alley.

Nice collection Caff! I particularly like the natural patina on the Sentinel and the Moneypenny.

In other news I heard back from that BS online selling venue. Basically a bunch of blahblahblah and a paragraph urging me to narc for them. I think they can go suck schweaty balls, big balls, rice balls and especially gritty balls on that score.

FWIW, if anyone else wants to annotate pics with nice numbers like that, I used the free CombiNumerals font for it: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/CombiNumerals-Ltd

Yes, you'd need an image editing program capable of also doing text to do it. I also added some drop shadow and outer glow so the numbers would stand out against the busy-ness of the background.

All simple CE5 layer FX stuff. =)

You aren't near the fires, are you? Stay safe!

No, not yet Those are farther to the West. Hopefully, it stays over there.
We are getting the smoke and dust blowing in though, had air quality alerts for days now.

You guys are getting hammered by fire. The Carlton fire is where I mule deer hunted for years. Not anymore. Might push migration back through Winthrop after that fire pushed them east.

Listening to "AM Coast to Coast" radio show last night, I heard that the fires are pushing Bigfoot to the other side of the mountain and into inhabited areas...

I'm hoping for cooler temps and light rains to help those fires. All those homes and businesses gone.
