Jeeze, why is it the first thing I saw was the power pole with secondary voltage and a streetlight... I guess mainly that is what I deal with in my work life, power poles... :giggle:

Got out for a walk before the bad weather hit.
Here right now everywhere is like a sea of yellow from the various types of wattle. Looks beautiful I'll admit but makes me cough and have a dry throat. Still would prefer to walk amongst it than be stuck inside. This is just across the road from our home.

This below is commonly called Egg n Bacon for obvious reasons.
Lovely little native plant.
We get quite a few if not most natives that flower in the colder months of winter going into spring which makes sense as the rest of the year has very little rainfall.

Walked today till my legs were done. Bush is still bathed in yellow. Nice to see though.

Saw this, dont know what it is but nice flower. Dont know if its a native or not as people dump garden stuff in the bush around town and anything can be found growing at times. Its probably a dump plant that grew, leaves dont look native bush to me.

Out today on my own in the bush for a detect. Came up donuts but was nice to get out anyway. We are allowed out where I am for recreation outdoors stuff as long as we stay away from others and dont travel far. Fortunately I can do so close to home.
Was on an old surfaced area but the ground was really noisy from minerals after all the rain we've had. Lot of false signals that had me thinking id found something that turned out to be phantom signals that vanish once the ground is disturbed. Nice place though.

The little carnivorous plants are flowering now. Caught a tiny hover fly feeding on one, as in I caught the pic of it.

11 year old photo I took the day we rescued Maggie (Moo-Moo)

Person who had Maggie already had 3 dogs and found her... Wife worked with his wife and knew we wanted another dog.

He was going to take her to the pound.

Old girl now, here with our old Labrador Jasper

Across the bay is Coronado Island, and said bridge is the Coronado bridge

The previous pictures I posted looking at the city view are from that side.

A lovely ice-cold Tecate basking in the sunlight.
With fresh-squeezed lime and a few grains of MX coarse sea salt for balance... ?

Taken on my $1.50 thift-store Canon A520 and processed in Linux using Xnview.

Run the rest of the deer off this am with my loud driving. But this one said hey.

There's like 5 bucks still in velvet I've been trying to get a pic of for 4 weeks. Lol. Amazing to see them in velvet in person.

Just a screenshot but I'm pretty damn excited I'm going to try to get the financing for this drum set. I'd still have to get bass pedal and a stool and sticks. But damn do I miss playing drums.
And these are easier to record than acoustic drums.

This picture doesn’t show the gloom of the fires...

That isn’t mostly overcast or the marine layer, that is the smoke from the Alpine fire not far from us... air quality is crap

Stay safe n well. We know too well ourselves living in the bush what its like when that happens. We got an air purifier which we hope we wont need this year or into next as lasts years and the earlier months of this had us taping up all the houses vents and gaps.

The area had been surfaced following the gold. The old boys did a good job not leaving anything for me though.

A puddler. In the centre is the remains of the pole. It was conected to a chain, then a horse that walked in circles with an agitator stirring up and breaking up the clay and gravels into a slurry that was afterwards panned off.
The round inside chanel where the gravels and clay was put with water was wood lined.

Found a native wasp nest, theyre tiny wasps and if they do sting its only like a tiny pin prick. This nest was finished. You cant even feel the weight of it. Theyre like the lightest honeycomb wafer you can imagine.
