Im loving the SS fused claptons I threw in earlier today. I love SS period even tho I'm still vaping on the same Ti coils I put in my Diablo back in January just rewick them every so often they're not even gunked up and they're on my daily go to vape

So I decided to show the Griffin a little love and pulled out the fused Claptons I've been vaping on for a week or so and put in some aliens. The size of these aliens is perfect - they slid right in like they were made for each other. It's vaping nicely at 135 watts on the RX200.

Very nice! I'm still learning how to get the wicks just the right size. This time i cut them to just hardly cover the wick retainer and it's perfect for my vape style.

I like to take the ring off, then cut and position the wicks. I'll make a rough cut, wet and position the wicks, then make a final cut and put the ring back on.

This is a lousy video, but it shows the position of my wicks.

I wish I had some 40 gauge SS on hand. I would make some stainless coils for the Griffin but oh well.

My coils I pulled out are my own fault for getting funky. I let them go too long between cleanings.

I use these ones. They're the perfect size and are a nice match for the amount of tension I like to use.

Because it can be confusing and writing it out before doing such an intricate coil will also be good to measure with and have it come out right. The only real thing you should "Map Out" is the 1" lines so you can keep the wraps/designs to the correct specs. I havent seen anyone else try one of these coils and I dont think too many people knew how to pull it off...So I posted it hoping people would try a crazy hybrid and post their build....I was only trying to help and hopefully inspire people to try something new.

A chief engineer always has blueprints even though its mapped out in his head, if he walks away for a minute or gets distracted he wont loose his train of thought or the design he wanted originally. I find sketching things out keeps you on track and gives you something to refer to when you begin something you may not be 100% confident in doing.
Well said I must have miss interpreted what you where trying to do. I am sorry man

Guess who is collaborating with a RTA company for a RTA?? How do these features sound?
My specs are for a 25mm wide RTA (roughly the size of the VCMT in height)
Will hold 5-7ml's of Juice (depending on how Chamber is done)
20mm 2 post build deck
Juice ports that drain downwards towards wicking (every drop gets used)
Griffin style top fill openings, Top unscrews in 3-4 turns
Real Juice control
6mm chimney ID with domed chamber top
Some knurling On every band/level
Tank can be removed filled with Juice
Swapable posts style options
Delrin Concave drip tip and a SS 510 DT adapter
Airflow Rings may be swapable for different varieties of intake
Airflow will be Cyclonic openings 2mm x 10mm
Air travels in and hits the coils at a 45 degree angle then straight to you mouth.
Adjustable 510 Pin
Colors will be Black, SS, RED/SS
Positive and Negative Posts will have swappable options and Airflow will also have options you can choose yourself.

this is the nothing missed perfectly designed RTA.
dude i will be all over this when it's released.
well done.

Having an issue with drawing up the Juice control while retaining everything...I may have to either drop the Juice control or make it 3 different pieces to control it, which in the end may have weeping or it would be like the VCMT and only adjustable before assembling the tank (Im not a fan of that)...I have an Idea though but I need to draw it up and send it in before this goes further....everything else is a go though.

Theres no way for it to spin and still hold the tank together, the pic only had the chimney and chamber on it and I put the holes on the chimney, I do have a solution that wont need any more parts though....
I told him to make the deck in a way that would allow a silicone gasket on the bottom and on the inside wall of the chimney ( 2-3mm high on the inside of the chimney. People can then rotate the tank enough to use the chimney for juice control but the tank would stay secure unless they unscrew past the gasket height in the chimney..much like how you could adjust the chimney for the coilheads juice ports on the Atlantis V2. Its not ideal but that would be a working design with low extra cost in machining.

Like i was saying, i looked at the alleria a bit (wish first hand) would it be possible to take the type of jfc from the alleria but instead of raising and lowering the chimney it would merely turn the chimney to line up with the channels?

Yes but then your adding a seal between the chamber and the deck...this can lead to weeping like the Crius had issues with. This is something I didnt want for the RTA, this is the issue Im trying to work out.

Its the weekend goddamn it! Mom said I can stay up and watch TV! :D
Everyone's asleep and I installed a stereo and subs in a friends car today and I want to relax...then Ill sleep in tomorrow..These Diablos that came from FT I ordered before I got my first Diablo...This is why I buy most of my gear in the US on Ebay when I can, usually get it in less then 3-4 business days. FT always takes around 2.-3.5 weeks with Epacket/USPS and thats the fastest method for me...I love their prices but I hate waiting, I wish they would open a US Warehouse but I understand why they wouldnt as they would probably be sued or have their stuff ceased...

BTW, That Heimdall Mod you traded me I use almost every day, Im still trying to get that locking ring to unlock but its a hard hitter...hits harder then some of my Copper mods...That Brass Diablo Mod was $12 on FT and I think its one of the best clones I've bought-Its worth twice what it costs in scrap brass lol. I want to buy that Full Copper Dimitri on the site, that would be a nice piece to have....maybe Ill order it next check..

Cool, thanks.

I tried standard swivels with no success so have been doing standard clapton and fused free hand which has been hit and miss wasting a fair bit of wire in the process.

Im Looking forward to trying again and hopefully making better coils.

I use a few 'normal' swivels in a row and juice them with Bones Speed Cream bearing grease. But a ball bearing swivel would maybe be better ....only thing is I didn't have any laying about but I did have these bad boys :D

I tried with around 3 very old standard ones and it kind of worked then it would snag and twist spoiling what i had done.
Ive ordered some now and toothless pliers to straiten if necessary.

I like twisted wire fused claptons anyway (core wires twisted tight before you clapton them) they seem to have some anti-gunking ability - maybe they wick juice better I don't know, just noticed they de-gunk themselves very well. They don't look real purdy though so you rarely see coil-porn type pics of them. But they vape nice and last ages.

I was doing that at first when I didn't want to my swivels where locking up but this makes me want to do it on purpose

use swivels, some attach all three wires to the swivel, i just attach the middle one to the swivel and keep the other two held to it with a wrap of wire

The VTC4s have more amps
The newer vtc5's have 20A continuous amp rating but you can still pick up the 30A version from a handful of distributors. Orbtronic.com for one. I've bought the vtc4's and the vtc5's(both 30A) and I have to say on my stingray x mech I get a "harder" hit from the vtc5's. They also seem to stay cooler after repeated long drags. Not to mention they have a 2600mAh rating as opposed to the vtc4's 2100mAh rating. To be honest, using the same mod, atty, and coil setup for both batteries, the vtc5's last almost twice as long.

Soooo everything was going good for the first few wraps and then, once again, the wires "triangled" up on me again. Maybe I'm not stretching the alien exo enough? Any help would be fantastic....
