So on aliens, Im having more trouble lol Ima link a couple pics. Am I stretching the wire too muc? Not enough? Whats up? I wrapped like 2 or 3 feet of dual core with this and it just wouldnt line up at all, it just ended up real spaced out and opposite of lining up right.

Should I just start my own "Ask your build questions" thread? lol, I dont wanna constantly be asking questions and shit in here if it pisses people off, its just this is the best place to do it.
Don't you dare! The answers to your questions are helping me figure this shit out!:shades:

@CrazyChef Ive wondered this for a bit but keep forgetting to ask...can a Interlocked Alien also be Stitched? like a Stitched Interlock Alien? I bet it would bunch up like a F**ker but it would be pretty crazy looking if pulled off.
Ive seen it on ig so its doable, i havent tried it yet but, yeah, it sounds like a total clusterfuck

I tried Stitched Aliens and I didnt have the Alien stretched far enough and when I would stretch it more the stitch wire would shoot up more and I'd get sections done but no where near enough for one coil...
This is about all I got that was worth looking at...

Not too bad - now put that fucker around a framed staple and see how much hair you end up with...:p

Two other alternates that I've done are multi-stitched and ribbon stitched. The multi-stitch was meh - just more of the same. The ribbon stitch was pretty badass looking, but again - no real performance value to it.

Im happy right now getting the wrap around a couple cores and not have gaps between, Ill leave the more extraordinary stuff for you to make ;)

Thats why I stock up on Kanthal D from Kingorchid and K.Bee...thats my "test" wire and I use KP wire for use. It saves alot of money that way and when you get good at making something then make it with the wire you prefer to vape with..

I got a few straps of those spool tamers yesterday...those things are a blessing for making claptons and spaced claptons, I suggest everyone but a 3 pack atleast!
Wow I just realized how crappy these pics are...they looked good on the phone..

Are they the "UD Spool Tamers"? I thought those had some kinda pull tab to enable the wire to come out

What size roll do y'all find best to use when making aliens? And is there an easy way to spool off from 1,000 foot to a 100 foot roll?

After much stress, anger, and wasted wire I FINALLY got the alien wire to wrap properly all lined up. Only did a dual core to start because no doubt a triple core would have been a total twisted mess, and it didnt stay as tight as I would have liked, but its a start. Gonna have to practice a lot more. Now that I finally got that first one done, it should start coming a lil easier.

holy shit i need to think about getting an actual camera if i want to keep taking pictures of tiny things. heres a terrible shot of my first framed staples. its 8x.4mm cores with 26/32 clapton frames and a spaced .4mm ribbon wrap. the cores twisted and my wraps are pretty shitty but it seems to vape ok still.

Well Ive wanted to remake that 3 core Staggered Fused Clapton again but this time make it without having to beat it with a hammer to make it half decent looking...I got it this morning on my first try...I have to admit I was pretty damn impressed wit myself! There is only one spot where the clapton didnt line up in the whole wire (at the very end at that!), it looks wavy because of the untwisting but this whole length is FLAWLESS!!!!! Next time I have Ribbon I will try this again but place 2 or 3 pieces of .4 ribbon between the Cores..

What are you doing to keep it all flat? I've been meaning to try it but can't think of a way to keep everything flat since a wire wrap or paperclip won't work even if I use tiny gauge for everything

Paper clip at the very end and every in ch I pinch with Nylon Pliers....it always seems to start twisting up but when it makes a half twist, thats when it needs to be restraightened or it will start bunching up....GO SLOW...I kept speeding up and thats when problems happen...you need to watch it wrap every single dam turn....like 2-3 rotations a second slow...

Yea I was doing that when I tried the staple staggered, it was a huge pain. I was hoping you had a better trick lol

Nope...The best trick was using those Beadalon Spool tamers to make perfectly spaced claptons without doing anything other then spinning the drill...the rest was easy just time consuming....it only took about a half hour start to finish though...
Im going to do 3Core Staggereds, then 2 Core Staggereds, then Claptons on the So Horney now ;)

You guys may think Im crazy but this is the 2nd "So Horney" Build for you guys!
I love this RDA! After making those 3 Core Staggereds earlier I got the idea for a All Staggereds Build for this RDA...
We have Half, Full, and 3 Core Staggereds in a Row...Specs are a bit crazy as they are all different sizes and wire types in cores, clapton, and outerwrap on each and from each other....

Hope you enjoy the pics!

Looking to buy a new drill, how many rpms are the drills you guys use.
I dint think i need 6k rpm but i dont want something that feels like a dead battery, which is how mine feels currently, cells are dead.

The highest Ive seen is barely over 2K RPM (Cordless)...Mine maxes out at 1,700 RPM and has 4 speeds....I wish it had a bit more but for $30 what can you expect?

I use a 2,500 rpm corded one.

Yea mines a 2 speed and think it gets up there around 1700-1800 totally maxed out, but honestly, thats too fast, usually I just keep it maxed on the first speed setting which I think maxes out around 800 or so, maybe a little higher. And with that the wire is gettin wrapped pretty damn fast. Couldnt imagine needing to go much faster and being able to keep control.

Is there really a benefit to those super micro clappies? Like what are you gonna clapton with a clapton?

They are great for smaller RTA's/RDA's and for wattage limited devices like the Mini Volt. You can also use them in builds like the Micro Clapton Zipper or the Claptonception coils.
I was really big into Micro/Nano Fused claptons when I was building for the TFV4 RBA's..
I made these for smaller RTA's and for use on the Mini Volt for @skt239 and others....he says hes only using them at around 28w with good results so you can imagine the battery life is vastly improved over normal Fused Claptons. If your using them in a small chambered RTA/RDA you can have the same flavor and experience as larger RTA'RDA's with coils like these.

I did the Clapception coils a few days ago, wouldnt recommend it. Big use of wire for not that great a vape. For 2 coils you gotta do about 4 feet of the micro clapton. They require a lot of power to get going proper, and even then you wont get anywhere near a fast ramp up. Plus they retain heat like a motherfucker! Might be the hottest build I ever had so far. That all said...they do look cool lol

Yea those are mostly just for coilporn....too thick and bulky anyways. As a single coil they arent as bad....I wouldnt recommend duals

I was going to do a 3 loop vertebraid of 36/40 N80 micro clapton.

The micro twisted fused (2*36x2/40 all N80) I did just a couple days ago was underwhelming. Really cool vape with muted flavor in the STM as high as 4.5v and any higher the wick couldn't keep up.

Fresh build. Dual Fused Clapton set up on the Twisted Messes Squared RDA. 2x26k/36k, 2mm ID, 7 wraps, coming in at a 0.19 Ω.

Vaping real nice at just 80watts, nice smooth, cool, flavorful vapor. Diggin it. Of all the builds Ive tried, everything from regular kanthal, to staples, to dragon scales, I always go back to the fused claptons. They are just perfect for me and uber easy to build (do need to get some nylon tipped pliers though).

After the micro Clapton failures earlier I made this wire instead as I can't use the drill after the baby goes to sleep. 6 loop 36g N80 vertebraid. I even dug out some discontinued currency to shoot the pic on.
;)

I'll wrap it tomorrow. It took an hour and a half to braid enough for a coil. I did around 740 knots...

@raymo2u I did what you said about my build on the NC. MUCH MUCH BETTER! Get a nice warmish vape. Taking it from 9 to 7 wraps took it from .51 to .46 ohm. A lot more flavor and a lot more vapor. The coil looks so small and stretched out now. I need to build something else to throw in another RDA to compare. Not sure of the build that I want to do though. Have to stick to FC's or staples right now because those I can turn out quickly with what build time that I get right now.

I still need to build out my 13h9h and one of my indestructibles. Just not sure what to build. I kind of want a longer coil or something with more coverage. Just conflicted what to build.

I keep seeing these "Groove Fused Claptons...at first I didnt understand what they meant by grooved...some looked like they were trailing the clapton grooves with a outer wrap and others looked like a Fused Clapton with a "groove" down the middle....well I went both ways and then some as usual for you guys!
I did a Fused Clapton in the middle...Just to be a Kool Kid.
Fused Clapton Cores are 26N80, Clapton Cores are 24KA1, Clapton wire on all is 36N80, groove fusing wrap is 42N80
