You're going to love the Rafael X, it really is a series Mod fans wet dream! Just got it in the mail, had some pre-made 316L SS 26x2/32 gathering dust. 5 wraps around a 3mm di, hell yeah. Things I don't like but can live with are

1. Neutral post wobbles a bit
2. Hate the swirl thing in the drip tip
3. No air flow adjustment

This RDA really is a game changer IMO.

Not much airflow adjustment - 3 holes, or 1 hole. Too open one way, too restricted the other...

Running on a series wide open works well, but yes the afc is very limited. It's a game changer with the neutral post, can't wait to see what is going to come next.

I'm excited for that, right now being able to run SS fused Clapton's with larger core wire has me excited. 317L is my favorite and smallest gauge I can find is 32. Plus wrapping 32x2/36 and 34x2/38 is a bit of a PiA.

Man, I'm liking this Tobeco TM 2 clone a lot. Very well made. It's instantly vaulted itself into second place behind the Petri. Rockin' some Crazy Chef e bay staples at .2 ohms.

I just use half of the required number of pieces of ribbon needed. Secure one end with wire, "comb" them with a 50/50 PG/VG blend, fold them over to double the amount of stacks, then secure the folded end with more wire. That's really all there is to it.
Half of it is having proper swivels that can spin under pressure. Btw has anyone seen or tried that new magnetic swivel setup? If so... want to share any specs or links?

Beadalon Spool Tamers....they do all the spacing and claptoning...I just point them at a angle and hold one side so they dont spin around the wire...All I do is use one finger to guide/hold the spool with the spool tamer and press the button on the drill...once the length is done I cut it into sections and if Im doing more then 3 cores Ill do another length.

Im rocking that 9 Core as a Ring ;)...I may clean it at some point in the USC and try putting it in the Coo TS RDA though.

nice! many years ago i had an odd job,, i worked a place where we would take a lot of dif metal wire (including gold and silver) and would draw them down thru dies,,, down to 1/10th of a human hair.........after that process we would spin them on our house made/designed machines.......our goal was to create a certain kind of thread to be woven into a 'fabric'.. this fabric was to be nearly bullet proof,, (yes we had a govt contract) .. at the time only the chinese had perfected it..........we had such a difficult time getting enough thread for the fabric............all of the 'scap' became fine jewelry thread,, dolphin antenna's and other items in the tech industry.. ie,, using a single strand 'nicked' a certain way to replace a chip on a computer board..........all kinds of crazy stuff. ...your 'ring' reminded me of it. been catching up on the posts all night......coil porn... lol. surprised i havent ran across any mention of rayon,, just cotton,, and the funny guy with tampons.

anyway,, you guys rock (and the young lady too!)

You always come thru. Appreciate it. These magnets will hold enough tension to clapton staples cleanly?

They should I havent received mine yet but from what Ive seen they will hold a great amount of tension as long as you secure it to a big enough nut and keep it close to the Magnets.

I'm kind of skeptical of how stable this setup is going go be, I've got all the stuff necessary so I'll play with it tomorrow but I truly doubt you'll be able to hold enough tension to make things that pull on the wire.
In other news has anyone ever had a build on a mech that started to hit insanely hard for no reason without changing resistance or anything? Shit has me stumped.

God damn Staples have me so frustrated and angry. How do you even make ribbon work? How the hell are you suppose to perfectly stack infinitely small pieces of flimsy metal? Like, the shit sounds like some kind of test for becoming the head scientist at CERN or something. Its bullshit. Then somehow the ribbon gets pretty close to lined up right, but oh god, how do I get it in the drill and on the swivels? And OH SHIT, its fucking twisting again?! I need liquor and sleep...

Hahaha everyone's been there. Liquor sleep and try again tomorrow. A few tips I've picked up on though, make sure the ribbon is totally straight or youll hate life, wet it a little, and after you tape one end stroke it perfectly straight before you tape the other end.

Hahaha man I hear you on the ribbon...

Using straight up VG to help them stick was something I found useful. Also I did this last ribbon build by stacking two strands, tying those flat the entire length, then doing the same with the additional strands 2 by 2 . . . made it easier however more time consuming.

It needs to be perfectly flat off the spool, then make sure you coat your fingers in VG and slide it up and down the Ribbon....Try "Boxing" the Ribbon by pinching the corners and sliding your fingers up the lengths, once they are stacked wrap some thinner wire around the end and a bit away from the end and then put it in the Flat space between 2 chuck jaws when starting...After you get about a inch wrapped up then undo the chuck and put the claptoned part in the center of the drill and then you can go faster. Make sure to keep sliding the thin wire slider up the length as you travel also.

If you had mounted the coils across +ve to -ve in parallel on a parallel box you would of got the same thing. Electrically the 'neutral' centre post is splitting the PD so you have ~4v across each coil. So its not really that exciting. But I like it when people get excited about stuff so yay! I think they had a good idea but I don't think they executed it well, post holes should of been way bigger maybe a clamp style for the neutral. That way when you did a pair of mahoosive flat coils that ohmed out too low you could just serialise them and they are still good.

An I misreading this deal? 1,000 feet of 316L for $25? Is it from china and glows in the dark?

edit - went for it. Asked if they would swap out the 22/24 for more 26/28. Cheaper for them, we'll see. Between this and the LV order I'm going to have a lot of wire.

Its K.Bee wire, I use it as "practice wire but its clean and pretty decent....I would say its about the same as LV wire.

This was my favorite build in the cricket, in the 13h9h rda. Redid it for the petri to use in the underground... did an extra couple wraps to compensate for the extra power.

No thats a 18650 Battery Dud...you can make a Series box into a normal 4.2V type of mod using it...

That deck tho damn! How do you like it? Attempting aliens next!!

Instagram: @ohmmage
I dont mind it, its alot like a space Twisted Messes RDA or a Phenotype if using it as a 2 Post. I really like the airflow it has wide open!

You do realize that quote is from page 50 something.....The juices Zamplebox uses arent budget juices so once you do find something you like you wont be able to stock up on it before you vape it all...Try some Verdevalleyvapes, yetivape, fivefoldvapors (carnival), suicide bunny, ejuicemafia, vapewild, mechsuace, and somichvape..you could easily buy a TON of juice from each of these or their smaller smaple packs for not even a third of what the cheapest box from zamplbox is and then if you like something you could easily surmount a metric ton for pennies on the dollar. I dont call these budget juices as they are pretty amazing for the costs...they are Affordable juices and they taste amazing...You'll see once you start trying any of these that zamplebox isnt as great as you think it is....unless you dont vape much juice at all...then I guess it could be worth it...
Yeah, I just did a search for Zamplebox and found the post. I'd estimate I vape at least 210ml/month, but that's being conservative. I get a 120ml bottle of something I know I love and between two and six 30ml bottles of various other flavors each month, depending on the size of my existing stash. I don't necessarily think Zamplebox is great, I just think it's a good way to get introduced to new flavors and brands without dropping a ton of cash. I'll give some of those other sites you mentioned a look. I only plan to be on Zamplebox for 3 or 4 months, just enough time to learn about some promising juices and companies, then I'll drop my membership and buy bigger bottles of stuff I've learned about there on my own.

I see I vape between 2000-2800mls in a month so I couldnt imagine using Zamplebox for getting my juice..I guess its good if your just getting it for variety testing and not for savings or bulk juice.

I forget what thread it was that Raymo showed pics of his gross coils. I joked I should check on my Boreas coils...well I did...bleh.

Totally gross. Just a damn crusty, baked on, burned gunky mess. Totally sick. Funny thing is, the flavor wasnt bad off these shockingly. But I did replace them. Threw on a set of SS 28ss/34k or 36k fused claptons to play with. Been vaping them at 450F, and its working damn good. Getting a little more into TC since I have the Hohm Wrecker G2 coming (hopefully) soon.

But, the moral, CHECK YO COILS SON! Dont let em get all funky. This is where the Alleria has a leg up on all other RTAs.

Oh, and I wicked that up with the Native Wicks Platinum that I was talking to Raymo about. Ive had it for a long while not knowing it wasnt even released yet. Its alright stuff actually. My first impression the first time I used it was not being able to see a difference between it and my regular Cotton Bacon. But on this build I can definitely see a difference. Its got a "cleaner" taste, kinda more open, if that makes any more sense. Or maybe its just placebo

Boreas or Vapemail thread I believe...you dont even notice or think of rewicking them in that thing...the flavor is damn good for ever and it almost never seems to diminish! Those look pretty damn bad though!
These were the pics I think....doesnt that cotton look great?? It tasted like damn tree bark burning....without even dry hitting..back to cotton bacon!
