I think some time down the line Ill make a Full Ribbon Stuffed version also but Ribbon doesnt count for this round as a core for some weird reason...

Next round is one of my favorites....Staggertons and SSFC's. So if I do get through this round and hopefully cant get paid soon enough to get ribbon wire delivered by Wednesday Ill be set for sure!

The key is to make sure there is tension on all 3 cores....if none even has any breathing room it will push outwards from wrap pressure. Try this next time, make a hook/loop from a paper clip for your drill chuck. Thread the wire through your swivels and secure them. Run your fingernails down the cores to get them even and tight. Then with the tight make a bend at a inch away from the end for the drill, push it through the paperclip hoop and then wrap it around the wire to secure them. Pull had on the drill while using your fingernails to push on the knot. This should make them all really right and you wont even need the ribbon sliders anymore.....this is how I make 3ft lengths with nothing but tension and understretched decoreSo I decided to build for my underground series box again. Wanted to do a 4 core stitched alien and it just went to shit. Had a really hard time with keeping the cores flat even with ribbon guides (is not really harder than framed staples???) so I kept pinching and pinching and lo and behold, I miscalculated my alien wrap and ended up short. Binned everything out of frustration. Built alien fraples instead. 2x30gka1/3x.4ka1/38gn80 at .33 ohms.

I forgot to take pictures...but I just did a 12 core Alien a few minutes ago and jumped straight into making my entry for the Staggerton/SSFC round. Ill do it again with 3 cores just so you get the idea though..

First secure your center core and make sure its all twisted and the last bit thats hanging is clipped flush or wrapped tight. Then loop you other cores, if your doing four cores I just do 2 loops.

Pinch the cores with your fingertips and pull to the end, this will straighten them. Put your bend on the end and make sure they are all bent together! Loop it through the loop and then wrap it around itself tightly. Then pull on the knot with your fingertips again as hard as you can while pulling the drill for more tension. This should align them and make them as tight as can be.

Now when you wrap your alien make sure you pull on the drill a bit, as long as you dont overstretch your decore too much you shouldnt find yourself having collapsing problems.
You can see that the cores stay taut the entire length after the alien was finished...this is what you are looking for.

And you do it well - that's a nice tight build.
I made the (2) rows of claptons 316L wasn't that bad, but spinning them with the outside 316L was though..... I took me like (3) days of screwing around to finish 36 inches of coils and messed up another 3 or 4 feet...... I have fucking nests of wire all over the place..... If I found some transformer birds, I would have plenty of nests for them !!!!!
You need to get yourself some 36-40g wire bro!Some random ass coils I built, the fatty at the very bottom is huge and bottoms out to 0.04ohms too low!
The top one is a Clapton, pretty hard to make with 2x24 & 26g doable but a pain and thick wire. Now that I have 32g I'll try some 3core 24g SS with 32g kanthal.

I cleaned the office today in preparation to move into a much larger room. Im also soon picking up a X1 Xtreme 8 footer from @anonymous.buildz on IG (Should double my Alien Output and make it easier overall...@CrazyChef you should check into one also...
This is the "Office" Ive had for over a year now and I feel if I move into the other Room Ill have almost 15ft x 20ft to work with, Im planning on the 12ft Banch and then a 8ft bench just for the X1 to sit on, this bench will be on lockable rollers so I can move it around.

I hope this isn't innapropriate, but your coils make me tingly in my naughty area, and I'm a dude.
This is the best I've done sofar but I've only really been building for a few weeks. I'll get a better lens for my camera soon. Sofar the best part of the whole picture is my mouse pad is Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma having a s'more picnic.
We all start from somewhere bud, about 200 pages ago I was in awe of what @scarecrowjenkins and @CrazyChef were doing and I couldnt even get a alien wrapped correctly and now I feel Ive got a good grip on almost everything (except braids...I hate braids! It just takes a bit of practice and dedication and after some time you could also be pushing out builds that you see here or on Instagram.

The reason I think people are "attracted" to the things I build are due to trying new things, things you dont normally see. Some of the coils are basically useless other then pictures but some like the hybrid coils you can really customize each part of the coil to do what you want whether it be better wicking, faster or slower ramp up/ect. Its all for fun though and I love doing it...Ive gotten used to using my time a bit more wisely then I use to now that Im almost constantly busy but I will keep pushing out what I can and only hope others appreciate the coils.

These are gorgeous...... I made some like these and some super Juggernauts, and the spit back burnt my tongue...... I gave up.....I've been holding off building because the spinLT is supposed to come today. They're taking a while though so what the hell. First go at the tsuka.

Thanks man! Haven't tried juggernauts yet but yeah, there's some spitback with these coils. I'm still trying to play with the wattage to see if it disappears. It sucks if it doesn't because I'll need to rebuild.
Yeah it's a test, sometimes if you pack the coil with a lot of Cotton, tight the spit back goes away...... Sometimes with low wattage and Sometimes high wattage will also make it go away.......
