Did something similar (albeit, much shorter) yesterday by accident. I was making aliens and one backwound on itself at the end. Now if I could only do this on purpose!
I was trying for a Alien Staggerton with Ribbon but I used the wrong decore size for the wrap or something and the Alien Center went vertical...I didnt want to stop and it just made itself...I tried wrapping that but it wouldnt wrap neither horizontally or vertically so its a waste....though I was thinking maybe it would be cool for the center of one of those Altered Bridges but I doubt Ill be able to replicate that mohawk stagg thing again
What I made was inspired by this build by widowmakervapor, I know why he used 24g now, I used 28g and the coils wouldnt stay together...didnt help I didnt have tweezers or nylon pliers for the build though..
This is the biggest I can stick in........... The Modfather..... 4.5mm (9) wrap.. SS316... These are dual SS claptons wrapped in 36g 316LSS

My first dual coil parallel. 2x29g twisted/29g 10 wraps each 3mm id. Ohms out .25Ω. Warm vape, but very flavorful.

Found a bunch of old wires and decided to use them. Should've used 38g to fuse :-\

Wow..Looks amazing, in an overkill type of way but impressive! What did it ohm out at and hows the flavor/clouds??
It was around .12 but it definitly was a flavor build, I made one similar for the Merlin RTA right after. The clouds are similar to a 28g/38g Alien 5 Wrap/3mm ID coil. Its just a great build that doesnt take alot of time compared to the more complex builds Ive done.

I got some shoes to match that build!More stuff from yesterday. Some of the best coloring Ive personally have ever done and then captured well.

The only thing its for is CoilWars..Bridges and Extensions is the theme this week and Ive never made any before...they are COMPLETELY USELESS COILS...and they are very irritating to make. The bridge is a hotspot machine, the entire length turns into a bunch of free ranging hotspots that never seem to come out until it melts.
Some stuff from today, one was supposed to be a low resistance test but it didnt come out as low as Id hope...was thinking .04 but its .06.
The screws just make it look even crazier.
This is another attempt for a bridge coil, SFC's conjoined by Micro Clap Mohawk Wrap. I havent washed or heated this one up yet, saving it for tomorrow for some better pics but I think this may be the one I submit if it fires well enough.

If you make a 'bridge' type coil you need some very low / no resistance wire to use as the bridge part. I agree that they are pointless but they will work like a series rda build if you have silver / nickel wire for the bridge part. Not worth the effort involved though.
I can't remember what it's called when you have different wire types in a strand of wire but since you like doing those could you add smaller gauge, meaning bigger wires, to the middle bridge section? I don't make those coils but I would thing extra mass would heat up slower fatter wire wouldn't cause more resistance. Just shooting ideas.
Stitched enigma. It's not perfect but I'm proud of it. Very hard but fun to build. I was hoping the nichrome ribbon would color up.

It really wasnt that long ago when I was only making Fused Claptons and rarely Id make framed staples....a few months and I got more creative and tried new things....it was only after alot of practice where I got to the point where Im comfortable with just about anything now...except braids...to hell with braids
Funny if you think of it, I said the same thing about everything else back then too...always rationalizing why fused claptons were the best vape and there wasnt a reason to make anything more..Im sure Chef remembers
Them mohaks are challenging..... I have ended with a couple of nests, but not giving up......

his for Mohawks, only stretch the decore until you see little triangles in the decore length. Then stop and try wrapping them.

Yup. I remember saying how much I hated ribbon and we both thought it was pointless - just for show. Now, I love making framed staples, and mega ply regular staples. And they give a great vape with the right mod.
What are you running it on? Sounds pretty burlyI built my first Clapton wire tonight. The only problem Is that I used 2 strands of 24 gauge as the core wire then used 26 gauge to wrap it. It was HUGE. I could barely get it in my rda posts.

I used a Velocity RDA and a RX 200S It came to 0.22 Ohms. I Used up allot of battery power pretty quickly I had to take it off my Mod. I learned my lesson. Now Im shopping for 26 gauge core with 30 gauge to wrap it for my newer Clapton builds. It pretty fun/ I also need those swivels.
Honestly, I would do 32g outerwe wrap, that's what alot of the companies do for basic clapton. For fused clapton I would say 28/36g. Just a suggestion, but hope it helps.

Yeah I was gonna say something bout battery consumption and whatnot but figured I'd leave that to somebody who has more experience with fused Claptons. I made the mistake of doing 26g wrapped around 26g before it's was a little much . But I'm still learning to do em

️ you'll get there. I'm struggling with Mohawks as well and it feels like when I was just starting to learn aliens. I cannot wrap them properly for the life of me. Ray gave lots of good tips so I'll try again soon. Only started building this April after seeing all the amazing coils. I honestly thought I'd be happy learning aliens. The framed staples are worth it though. So so worth learning.

I did something very similar a few days ago but this time I wrapped it much cleaner and its just about flawless...

The best I got is fused claptons still, when I try aliens I only get a couple good inches here n there and that's with 2 core wires.. whenever I try 3 I can't keep em from bunching up.
With the 2 core my worst enemy is when it backs up on itself which it seems to love doing.
Seeing as how we have a hurricane coming tomorrow it'll probably be a good time to practice my alien work... I can't honestly say I've ever even vaped an alien coil before... soon. I hope.
