Is there a way to like this post more than once? Congrats raymo. You deserve something like this. Now this gives me more reason to bust my ass and do even better coils.
Oh, and I envy the people with the macro lenses... I have been just using the phone trying to hold it steady on full zoom. Yeah, not lying. I really am holding a phone with the pics I post...

For other stuff theres Coil Society and Temco.
Coil Society's prices are really good for 1000' and up.
Temco's prices are really good but nothing above 36g.

I don't think I am. But I think the 38g helps with the cores being visible. I remember I did a fralien interlock with 36g and they looked chunky. I think for anything more than just normal alien, it looks better with 38g and up

I recently saw the plate "aimhiaf" outside detroit.
I had to use frames which I didn't want but whatever. 28g, 6 ply, 38g

The juice runs to the bottom and there are (4) holes under the deck that suck the juice up into the coils....

Figured I would get my first official post up with a shot of my all day setup. Rocking a SS SMPL mechanical with an OBS Crius. Build is a dual fused clapton with 2x 28g K wrapped in 36g N80... best flavor yet ive been able to get out of the crius, I have 2 and have the same build in both tanks lol.

Just a clean hybrid to show appreciation for my new sponsor!
Since I just was sponsored by Twisted Messes I have to quit the KPContest, a contest held by KidneyPuncher where they have selected a handful of builders to enter. They sent 2 100ft spools of their choice of wire to each builder and the builder needed to make something with the wire. They could use wire other then the 2 spools as long as it was kidneypuncher but the choice wire had to be the main wire used. I chose .4 Ribbon N80 and 40g 316L. I feel bad because the first spool of Ribbon was actually defective and the ribbon would crinkle and bind coming off the spool and it would instantly break with any attempt to straighten it. They sent me a new spool of Ribbon wire and the next day Twisted Messes spawned the question on me...
I feel since they sent me the wire for KPContest I will use it to submit a built for them as that was the intention for the wire anyway, though Im still bowing out. This is my entry:

The RazorBack Mohawk is pretty popular on Instagram right now but many people have troubles even making the initial clapton for it...its difficult but the results look amazing and I plan on experimenting heavily with it soon!
@h_hasselback is one of my friends on IG and he impacted a ton of people posting his build..making something totally different then anything being posted and then having a ton of people try to follow suit I made this as a "Commemorative Picture" for him.

So is the hybrid(be patient, been out of the game and don't have any "social media") start as a normal fused, go to an alien and then back to fused all on the same core?
Sexy stuff, but from what I've seen already I'd expect nothing less.
As for the razor back, that's just insane. Staggered staples and aliens where the hot ticket when I quit lol

Yea the Hybrid coils are all one coil but multiple changes to the wire through it..same wire but different segmented designs in it
That's the best hybrid I've seen.
I hope you and others know, the only reason I developed any skill at all doing this stuff was because of all the sick builds I've seen. I'd have never gone outside premade clapton with out threads like this one and on ECF.
Now I must have a hybrid. Lol.

I must have it aswell. Is the outer wrap all the same piece of wire straight to alien outer back to straight or do you tie individual pieces together somehow?

Ill type out a good tut but try this...
Get a length of core down for a Alien be it framed staple or 3 core/whatever..
Try wrapping the alien in atleast 5"
now unhook the alien wrap from your drill to unwrap it off the wire from the drill side, leave a 1 inch section of alien.
Clapton on both side of the alien, at least 1 inch worth each side....
Then coil it on a 3mm ID, should make 6 wraps with 3 sections, center being alien.
1 inch = 2 wraps on a 3mm ID, wrap accordingly and have fun with that.

So I tried playing with new stuff. I never did a helix (well, once) and braids so decided to give them a go together. I fucked up the helix haha. Wth, here it is.

I tried to stagger some twisted wire once but it acted odd. It just twisted the wire and not the sqivel.

I hit a paperclip half way through and it twisted the wire pretty bad. I'm lucky I saved it at all.

What do you do to keep the transition tidy? If you look close you can see part of my alien hanging. All in all it was a good first try and I learned alot. Shouldhave used 36 for the interlock so it's more obvious...it blends in now.
I hit a paperclip half way through and it twisted the wire pretty bad. I'm lucky I saved it at all.

Ha..... I had to lower the temp down to 177 watts...... On 193 watts it was a Satan throat fuck....
That's why I like 30mm and bigger rdas and tanks just to put big coils and play around.....
You notice how I had to stagger them to get them to burn evenly.......

I'll post a side one when I have to wick her again.... This photo was when I was testing the aliens before any adjustments....
The (4) coils are 316L so they fire hot immediately no ramping... And I had released the fire button, they were cooling down already.... They were red hot.....

I always like seeing your build posts, you do have some crazy things going on, but crazy in a good way.
I like your quad coil build a few posts up, what is that? Aliens and Fused claptons? Also 177W is madness to me lol.
Your wire came out good, I don't mind if the twist around, it makes them look real alien and it doesn't change how they perform. ....
