I saw the picture on FB but didn't know what was happening. Sorry for your impending loss. No one gets out of this life alive but it is sad to see loved ones move on. Hugs and prayers for all of you.
OK fellow knuckles, I am heading back to bed for a bit. I couldn't sleep before....too much pain keeping me up. Finally gave in and took a flexeril and ibuprofen. They have kicked in....took about an hour. I hate taking flexeril. Makes me a bit groggy the next day and even a bit stabby/grumpy. Watch out!

Wish I could agree but for some reason, I don't feel as though I can accept responsibility for this achievement. There, but for the grace of God, go I. This isn't false humility, honest. I don't know why the program "took" for me. I have seen so many others die from their addictions that just couldn't "get it". I am grateful, to be sure. Best day drunk doesn't hold a candle to my worst day sober!And Glow, huge congrats on 32 years, you are AWESOME

Agree! Lost a friend last week to the disease. He was my neighbor for 20 years and moved, still in this area, in 2010. We talked and visited regularly. He was a damn good closet drunk because I never saw any of the signs. He knew I was in recovery and I thought we were close enough for him to broach the subject. Mutual friends have said that he was probably embarrassed or I would be disappointed with him. Far from it. He was found face down on his driveway with severe head injury...probably blacked out. He was 64.
I'm proud of you Glow. You continue to be grateful! I'm coming up on 20 years - still grateful that God loved me when I couldn't love myself.

I appologize.....took a deep breath and only want to kill half of the fucj-swabs I initially intended to....not that I'd ever do that....but OMG.....some people need to be punched.
On the flip side....had a couple in last night that I dealt with a week ago.....awesome customers.....very appreciative of any help....bought nearly 2k worth of fencing.....said they really appreciated the time I took with them a week ago and would only come back here because of the attention they received.....
Damn near sacreligious that the attention was because she was SMOKIN.....
But to be fair.....he was a handsome man as well. Just not my type......because he had a penis....deal breaker....9 times outta 10....

Received orders from the boss that we have to clean up the domicile before her daughter and fiance move in on Saturday. That means I will probably have to lug a bunch of boxes out of the house and back into storage, because she hasn't found a place for them yet.
They both have jobs, but are re-locating from Seattle so don't have a place yet.
Only the good die young - you and I will probably be around for a while more.

Wish I was in the downunder....118 today in death valley, aka Arizona.
Only 4 months of misery, then it's back to normal....guess we all have to take some of the bad with the good.
Fiji would be my next choice though, to skip any battles......
reasonably close from aus, popular destination. I think bali is more popular, could almost swim there from the top of aus. Big with young people looking for anonymous action
Think I'll stick with onymous....
Although Bali is certainly paradise, perhaps will visit one day.
