OMG. I just had an exploding lithium ion battery adventure...so today is my daughter's birthday and I went to the large copy/print shop she owns with her present. I made her some jewelry, and had an extra cheap plated silver chain for the necklace. In a pocket of my purse I carry an extra batt for my provari. So anyway, I tossed the extra chain in my purse. A few minutes later there's a POP and sizzling SMOKE pouring from my purse. Her business has lots of expensive copy machines, not to mention all the paper. Her 3 employees ran around opening doors and getting a couple fans going. Had the smoke alarm sprinklers come on it would have been horrible. OMG. Got my purse outside and finally soaked it with enough water to stop the crazy smoke. Home now, still shaking. Hubby says silver is a GREAT conductor :(

Oh, Mer. I'm glad you're ok. I know you know now that you can't leave batteries just floating around, right? Keep them in cases!

No, no news-making :) I did know they couldn't float around, but I had sure gotten casual on keeping them. Oh, and I think, from the residue, there were 2 batteries:( SO much smoke!

When I was in junior high (7th-8th grade)...we went through a huge "convert to the metric system" push in the US OF A.....so we would be like the entire rest of the world.
Then the powers that be realized we were too stupid to get it and decided that we would just say it was stupid and we would be different.
7 C sounds colder than 45 F......easy peasy.......its 45 F....ill wear shorts and a long tee.....
7 C makes me want to put on my mink bikini thong thingy.....

the worst off here are the ones that did school in the 60s and 70s

learn the basics in imperial, then BAM advanced math in metric, so now that generation just has nFI at all

Eh it is what it is. The sheer unwillingness to engage/learn I guess is the sad part. I'll be the first to admit I wasn't the greatest at this job when I started but I was willing to learn. And learn I did, now I know my shit. I take pride in my work and am disappointed when others don't. Oh well, vacation starts today :D

Not sure about the hot chicky-babe stuff, but my skills are lacking in the kitchen, for sure.
Since we've moved and Hubby is busting his ass with a full time job and fixing this house, I've been doing all the cooking.
He's lost some weight. :facepalm:
