Evening all! I have returned from yet another foray into foreign territories. I successfully navigated the Left Coast, Donner Pass (my load was heavy, my truck is a bit of a dog so I had time to crochet a blanket while I was climbing), Price Canyon and the mountain passes in Colorado.
Looks like I will be home until at least Tuesday so I can watch the Broncos/Patriots game. Looking forward to it! (with trepidation, but still looking forward to it!)
Blind squirrel getting a whole bag of nuts!we call that batting above your average here, given it's from cricket i think you say boxing above your weight

Good early morning Knuckles.
So now the weather people are saying we will actually get some snow today...about 5 inches. That kinda makes me happy.
Hope my Southern friends are all warm and safe this morning.
Hasn't even started here yet.Good morning, em and all the other knucks!
Glad you are getting some of the white stuff!
I've woken up to snowmageddan! Our 3-5" is over a foot and it's still snowing. There is NO ONE on the road in front of my house. It's sort of eerie......lol Lots of shoveling to be done, that's for sure. I'll post some pics once the sun comes up a bit. It sure is pretty!

I hope you get to stay in and relax today.

And our two feet has turned in to maybe 12" with only some more off and on showers today.Good morning, em and all the other knucks!

Maybe they should always over estimate. Cuz, people here did stay off the roads and we really have only had minor incidents and road closures.
Still have some shoveling to do today, though.
Scary. Thanks for the advice.A little public service announcement about the Pinch.
No matter what they say, it is not a pocket friendly mod. It has a feather light touch to fire it.
Yesterday, while shoveling, I started smelling and seeing smoke. I look down and there's smoke rolling out of my jacket pocket. Apparently, the pinch was resting just right and was auto firing. I yanked it out of my pocket and there were flames coming out of the air holes and drip tip. I shoved it down in the snow really quick. It just burned up the cotton inside the atty, but damn, that was scary for a minute.
Wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't been talking to my neighbor at the time.
So, if you have one or are getting one, just be aware of that potential.
Good morning er'body!
Hopefully, your neighbor doesn't run to the media. Tomorrow's headlines will read something like, "Roanoke man dives into snow bank after lighting himself on fire with his ecig."A little public service announcement about the Pinch.

No bueno.

Hi Glowy. So glad you're home...I still miss you when you're gone.Sunny and beautiful here. I missed the storms out west....got in between a couple that were in the forecast. We should have showers of both rain and snow in the second half of the game tomorrow.
Steph, that really is beautiful. I would not be leaving home for a few days if I lived there. DH and granddaughter would be out taking turns with the huge snowblower we have. I could make hot chocolate in my new Hamilton Beach Flex Brew (thanks to everyone here that kept raving about them. I asked for it for Christmas).
I miss being here and hanging with all you fabulous folks!Hi Glowy. So glad you're home...I still miss you when you're gone.
No, but all the shoveling was more than enough exercise. It's very strenuous. People have heart attacks all the time while shoveling snow.guessing 22 did not walk or run today
Shit I thought changing a flat yesterday was hard lolNo, but all the shoveling was more than enough exercise. It's very strenuous. People have heart attacks all the time while shoveling snow.
Yeah, that sucks too! I'm sure you burned a few calories though.Shit I thought changing a flat yesterday was hard lol

I'm just happy I did it myself, a lot of people apparently can't, such sad times.Yeah, that sucks too! I'm sure you burned a few calories though.
I would rather chain 8 tires on the big truck than shovel our driveway. I can barely chain 4 tires but I can't shovel snow to save my life. I will change your tires if you will shovel my snow.Shit I thought changing a flat yesterday was hard lol

I'd take that deal any day! Hi glowI would rather chain 8 tires on the big truck than shovel our driveway. I can barely chain 4 tires but I can't shovel snow to save my life. I will change your tires if you will shovel my snow.
It seems the boundary of the storm was about 30 miles south of me. I'm 90 miles north of NYC.em, i read on fb that NYC roads are closed, travel ban. I guess I thought you were closer, or that storms reached further or something. But you said you got only a dusting
I'm at that stage where I get reminded all the time that I'm viewed as an old guy, even though I still think I'm young. It's a little depressing. One of Vaughan's customers described seeing my mod in Australia and said I was an "older fella" lol
