Stop beating around the bush, and sugar coating everything! How do you really feel? lol

What tipped the sales for me was the lack of any appology.
If you guys think this was bad check out this thread, start at page 15, post #728. That went beyond normal trolling. I have no respect for him after that. I'm just going to call a troll a troll, no sense in sugar coating it. I personally think calling him a troll is being generous!

Based on the previous TC-SS mode, Wismec develops the new TC-SS316 mode in the upgraded firmware V3.00. Moreover, the customized TCR mode are also introduced.

TCR(Temperature Coefficient of Resistance), users can set the parameters according to the TCR of coil in this mode.

Through this upgrade, the accuracy of temperature control is greatly improved and the pleasure of vaping will be naturally enhanced.

Yaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Have you figured out how to set the TCR, or is it just customized for 316 through the update.? I haven't been able to find a TCR adjustment after the update.

Hold power and button up when off to adjust TCR.and after you hit 3 clicks to change mode its up and down to cycle through modes now. I think.

316 is now the default I believe.

Has 3 memories for different TCRs. Nice!

Beware! Watts still default to 200 after firmware upgrade. Not nice!

Ok, 3.0 fw installed...Crown tank with .15 ni200 coil, it's reading it at .16 which is better right off the bat. Fw 1.08 read same coil at .17....Now I had to bump my watts up from 70 to 80, and the temp up from 500 to 520 to get the same pull. But I think 3.0 is smoother in delivering said pull. 550 used to be the point of just getting too hot. Now 570 is that point. Haven't got any ss coils so I'm waiting to hear some reports....So far, me likes...

Ok, so power down (5 clicks?) Then hold fire & up to change tcr value. I get nothing doing that. I set mode to M1 and can't figure out how to change tcr...

.

Sorry, hold them for 5 seconds. From M1 hit fire, then up/dn to change setting

Also go back a page on this thread, I added a TCR chart.

Beware, it will set watts to 200 after upgrade.

That was it, thanx.

Yeah, danger... almost didn't change watts after update... again.
Wooo! When I updated last time and didn't notice it defaulted to 200w... that was exciting lol

Hell I can take the temp all the way to 600 and it's not too too hot. I mean I wouldn't vape that hot, but I would think it would be too hot to even use 600...I think maybe they could adjust it so the temps we wouldn't have to set them so frickin high...I'm running between 550 and 600...lol

Yeah, tcr @91 with 316L like I use on my sx mini is not the same or even close. Like a clold barely there vape at 450° to 500°. I moved up to 100 and it's closer. Still playing with it.

I set my TCR to 0100 on M1, and I'm running the crown .5 coil @ 40w @ 580°.. Pretty nice.!! I had to play with the TCR to get it dialed in, but that's what we needed. This thing is awesome now.!!!

I came to rest on 0100, and I can tell you that there is a descernible difference in just a couple of points. From 98 to 100 I could tell the difference.

I'm using the ni200 coil in the Crown...No way we should have to max out the temps to get where we wanna be...l mean 550-570 is fine for me, don't think l would vape long at 600. But what about other people, they might want more heat and being maxed out...you ain't gonna get it...maybe it's that way so some idiot can't scorch his lip...lol

I'll keep that in mind as I plan on updating tomorrow after a few sips of coffee.

Hooray for version 3.0! I haven't upgraded yet but I did upgrade all my Evic minis.
I'm still not totally understanding TCR. Is there any fairly simple description of what it is and does? Any detailed charts? (besides the chart on the previous page, thanks @OneBadWolf)
Does the preferred TCR value change with single and dual coil setups? Does it change at different ohmage?
So many questions......

I think Wismecc has it nailed pretty good on this update. I had reverted to 07, I found 08 a bit lumpy.

I've been comparing the binarys, and the changes between 07-08 and 3 are massive. Still lots of room left in the memory for new stuff!

I was a little uneasy buying this mod with no TCR adjustment, the fact it has worked so well with the bodged firmware they slapped in to get it to market hints that they had a lot of faith in the hardware being capable enough to withstand the reviewers. Kudos.

Liking this mod more and more, And double kudos to Wismec for making the easiest, most painless firmware upgrade tool I've ever used. I didn't even hold my breath after hitting update this time! Triple kudos for being considerate enough to allow reverting back as a safety net. There is a trend in software not to allow that.

I like it so far too, just need to get used to seeing the temps set so high. It hits very nice...

@Analias
Tcr is just a value that lets the mod know what rise in resistance relates to a temp change. All wire are different so you change tcr to align with that wires change in resistance as temps rise.

Single coil is the same as dual coil, no change with different resistances

OH HAPPY DAY!!!!

First off mad props to ONE BAD WOLF for all his help to me in rolling back my firmware to 1.07, and all his insight and help on reviews for me to check out and tank advice! He took the time to write me a full page sharing his thoughts and experience, which for a new vapor was extremely helpful!

Now, off to update my 3 rx's and continue blowing through juice like a cheerleader postgame in the locker room!

The figures below are the set in stone numbers that will work the best. They are more of a starting point and you may or may not have to adjust to your own liking.

Pure Nickel / Ni200 : 0.0052 =520-600 TCR Value

Titanium Grade 1 / T1: 0.0035 =350-370 TCR Value

Stainless Steel / SS 304 : 0.00105 =105-110 TCR Value

Stainless Steel / SS 316 : 0.00092 =92 TCR Value

Stainless Steel / SS 317 : 0.0008888 =89-94 TCR Value

Stainless Steel / SS 410 : 0.00155 =155 TCR Value

Stainless Steel / SS 430 : 0.00138 = 138 TCR Value

thank you, will adjust from .000105 to .000110. One last question, after setting to m1 does it automatically use that when you fire it up? how do you change through the m's is that something you set while it's off and you're adjusting the tcr?

I haven't done the update on the rx200 yet, however its sounding like it's working exactly like the VTC mini which I do have. So in this case:
1. 5 clicks to turn off
2. hold fire and up for 5 seconds
3. move between m1, m2, m3 which stands for memory 1, 2, 3
4. click fire on desired memory
5. up or down to change to desired TCR
6. fire to go back and select another memory
7. etc.
8. when finished setting memory values press fire 5 times to turn on
9. navigate to desired setting by 3 clicking until you're there

Changing through the m's is something I'm not sure how it will work because on the VTC it is different... I would assume on the rx200 repeating step 9 would rotate you thorugh vw, ni, ti, ss, m1, m2, and m3 modes that way...

Looks like M1,2,3...And there's only 4 digits for the settings 0105 not .00105 Which one is for the nickel wire...I'm lost and over my pay grade on this...l don't notice a deference....

As seen in my post above, nickel wire has a coefficient of 0.0052... which would mean on the rx or VTC the setting would be around 520

Thank you! I was shutting it off to change between memories. Sounds identical. Gorgeous puppy BTW.

when you find a wires coefficient, you need to move the decimal point 5 places to the right in order to get the TCR value for the rx

Like I said, I haven't updated yet, so that might be the only way to do so, so don't take my word on that part... but feel free to let us know the findings!

Just tried it and you are correct, click fire 3 times and then you can choose through ni,ss,ti, followed by m1,2,3, fire to select and then it selects and lists your setting next to temp on main screen.

haha I am an idiot, all this talk about ss and I forgot I was running an ni coil in this tank! properly set to 0052 on m1
