I dont know what make and model car you have, but my husband before he bought an OBDII, used a trick turning the key to accesory and than off for a few cycles. The check engine light flash in a series of lights and pause that correspond to a trouble code.

It starts after it dies but it is 20-60 minutes.
We get fuel I can hear the pump going and it turns just no spark, So done screwing around with it today.
Tomorrow is pulling and checking fuses, pulling coil wires checking for sputtering. Might have to go get a cheapy code reader and return it when done/.

@BigNasty My husband says it is most likely the crankshaft angle sensor, most of the time wont throw a code but he said you can go to local auto parts store and they will read for free. He is ASE certified so if you need anything dont hesitate to ask.

How it is set up with that crankshaft sensor will get someone killed.

The trick is getting to that sensor with American sized hands and not tiny Korean booger hooks.

My husband's car was making this really soft grinding noise. I didn't want it to get worse so I took it in. New car. They told us the engine housing was "crushed in" and would have to be replaced and as it was clearly driver error ??? It would cost something like 4 grand. I laughed. When we got it up on the lift there was a large (but not devestating) rock size dent. There was a piece of plastic hanging off and rasping against the undercarriage when I went forward. It was cut off. No more grinding.

I just want to drag dishonest mechanics across the counter and throttle them. I've dealt with more than my fair share (which is why I took an auto mechanic course).

I've been stuck at home for 2 weeks waiting for an opening with the mechanic to replace a half axle and cv joint and front brake pads on my car. SUCKS ASS!!!! The only reason I didn't replace it myself is that the joint requires a pressed bearing... we don't have the tools for that...

I had some of the same problems you were, a month ago. My plug wire were in the shitter. They were actually arcing with each other. I would pop up the hood and check that out, definitely.

What kind of car are you driving? Most don't have a bearing pressed onto the shaft, the bearing is either pressed into the steering knuckle or held in by a snap ring in a groove. The shaft just slides through to bearing and is held in place with a large nut on the end of it where the wheel is mounted.

Well, when you're living with a guy who regularly blackens your eyes, and you're living a life of booze and drugs and rarely have enough to eat, then yes, having a child would be a disaster. So I left his sorry ass, went home to my parents, had an abortion, and exercised greater judgment in the selection of future partners. My 1st husband couldn't have children, which was a mercy since that marriage lasted barely a year; when I found myself pregnant a month after marrying my 2nd husband, I realized I'd been given a 2nd chance, so I took advantage of it. With a far more suitable partner!
