Squonkers are Bonkers

You Squonkers really are BONKERS!!!!! Ahmmm....I'm squonking too soooo.....
Well, never mnd that, how is the draw on this Nuppin y'all are talking about?

I have 3 Nuppins and if I have the money I'd get more. Now that that's out of the way, I think it's the most versatile atty I have in my arsenal. It shines with DL and MTL like Lucy mentioned. Despite its small size you can build to your heart's delight (dual, single, parallel..you name it, as long as you maintain your sanity of course). It is also very sensitive to the amount of wick you have in it. A dual coil with lots of wicking will restrict the airflow and vice versa, simply because it has no juice well. So whatever volume in the chamber is used up by your build and wick.

For my style of vaping (mostly MTL and occasionally RLH) it is perfect . If you can find one get it without hesitation.

There was an attempt at cloning it (focal) but they ended up making a 22 mm version. Not surprised it didn't fly.

Sure. That's great. Tell us fng's about some awesome shit we can't have.....

Hi all! Happy new year!

I just wanted to introduce myself.

I've been squonking for a few years, and am mostly using gear that you'd call "nostalgia vaping". Reo Variable Volt Grands with Reomizer 2.0's for ADV, and Reo LP + RM4 for cloud chasing. I've been boring out the airhole in the RM2 top cap over the years to get a more air over the years, and I'm hankering for more air.

I've read this thread since page 30 (which is what brought me over from Over There - the community here) and placed an order for a bunch of atties from Fasttech. As well as Coppervapes in both aluminum and brass. Tomorrow I expect the mailman to hand me over clones of the Ohman Pancake, Norbert Origin Little, Odis O-atty, DDP Typhon, as well an authentic Chtulu Hastur 2s.

I kind of wish I had added the Shift BF to my order, but the amount of plastic is that topcap in proximity of the coil put me off.

Are there other atomizers that you guys recommend I try out? I've read a lot of positive posts here about the Hadalay & NoPity but I'm trying to move away from the restricted lung hit. Also, people seem to really like the Goon but the build deck looks hella wonky to me.

Oh before I forget my other squankers are a gDeal GDNA40 and a Laik wood box. I also have a Versa mech and three Atmizoo Rollers, but those belong in a different thread. Edit: I'm trying out clones now because I have bought authentics in the past that were hyped, but I didn't end up using them, keeping them only because they are machined pieces of art like Bugz Chalice III and Ohman Genesis

We're glad you finally showed up, 215z. It seems we've been waiting years!

All that new gear is going to keep you busy for a while, but please let us know if that new stuff meets your expectations. There is a lot of hype around here, but a lot of good reviews too.

Welcome, 215z! I'm running 2 Grand LPs & a Lost Vape Halcyon. My current "main" atties are a Tugboat v2, Nuppin, & the SXK Shift BF. If you want air flow, snag a Goon (24mm or 22mm). They're easily converted to BF with a Fatdaddy M2.5 BF pin. Also, if you're worried about the plastic caps on the Shift, there's been no issues with mine yet at all. It's a damn good vape. The o-rings that came on my Hastur were shit btw. Hopefully you have some others that will fit it. Other than that, it's a decent atty

For an open draw you can try the M Atty clone that Catfish (over there) b/fed. Great flavor too!

K Compadres, two questions:
One. How many of you squonk exclusively? I got a Wraith a while ago, and then a Dripbox 160, and I've basically ignored my other technology. Interesting.

Two. The Wraith just eats power. .3 - .4 ohm builds both on the Wraith atty and a Tsunami 24, and I get about a day out of it. I think one answer is that I'm using it a lot, but my perception is that it goes through power quicker than say a topbox mini with a similar coil resistance.

1. I do about half and half on vaping vs using a RTA.
2. No experience with Wraith.

...and if you hear of anyone letting go of a Nuppin of any color, please let this brother know too. After Hank, and no color discrimination here.
I have a 0.42 ohms built in a Derringer and I get a few hours on the Dripbox 2. I don't have a wraith. ......not yet.

Kangertech.com has an update utility program available for the Dripbox2.
Just go to Frimware when you get to the site.

Your Dripbox has to be powered off to talk to it with the program.

and like everything else vape related I have not found any directions yet on how to use it....

I squonk 99% of the time.

(I did just resurrect a Provari, dripping into a Derringer on it, and getting pretty nice vape! - thinking it might be handy as an airport-bathroom-preflight-stealth-vape-because-my-squonker's-dis-assembled device.)

I haven't noticed bad battery time on my Wraith, but honestly, I don't vape it MUCH - I tend to reach for my mechanicals more - so it might sit a lot and run a week or more on a battery... But honestly, with a fairly low-ohm build and 1 battery, a day doesn't sound bad at all?

(and talk about bad battery time - that Provari's good for a few hours maybe. Could be that it's a mini, using 3-year old 18490's)
:)

Squonk on Amigos...

I squonk almost exclusively at home. About 50 % at work.

I've had the Wraith awhile but had not used it much until I took it out of town with me for the week around Christmas - I brought only squonkers, lol.

A day on a battery on one device is not out of line - especially if it gets a lot of sub-ohm use :)

FUCK them all. Each & every fucking one

My neighbor told me that he likes people, and that I don't. He is so wrong... I hate people. The last time I went shopping, 3 days before Christmas, and played bumper carts with a standing room only crowd in the grocery store fully confirmed that conviction.

As far a bottom feeders go, if I'm basically tootle puffing they are my device of choice. When I want a real vape it's still a series mod with a dripper.

Welcome to teh club my friend....When I first started squonking around a year ago somebody told me to kiss my old gear goodbye...and that was true..I never looked back...and I had some decent gear. Start selling or donating your old gear..you'll never use them again.

exclusive squonker here

a day is okay, most squonk mod makers seem to aim for battery change and bottle fill being synchronised, which is handy

Yep my Dripbox 2 will go for about 1.5 bottles on a charge but I just change em both at the same time.
the dripbox 160's I go 3 bottles and then change the batteries.

Thanks for the offer 1rudedog, but now I remember the thread on that other forum with all of the suggestions on how to cure the MyMod's illnesses. I'm glad you got one that's dependable even though you are someone with the skills & tools to fix it.

I have watched some reviews and such on the Goon LP.
And for me it is a solid NO.

Don't know if any of you guys have heard of Bombertech. They have a single coil rda called the firefly that includes a squonk pin and has an ultem top cap for $49. Vaping biker and Vapor Trail channel both have reviews. But they also have an rdta they call the Pindad that has a squonk post.As soon as i saw that I wanted it and finally found one.I ordered it this morning.I couldn't resist :D

I don't understand the advantage of a rdta for squonking. Is that tank just insurance against dry hits?
The Pindad looks like it can cause more problems than solutions.

It just allows you to refill the tank from the squonk bottle, which seems pretty convenient to me. Means you can go longer between squonks as you have a 2ml tank. The Split atty is the same way. It's probably not for everyone, but appealing to me. The Split atty also retailed for $160 where as this one is only $50. I like the idea, even if nobody else does.

I was just looking at that, and almost got one. I love the look.
But then I look at the deck and I'm thinking
- all my squonkers with deep wells are inferior in terms of "wet enough". No matter how I wick, it's better to be closer.
- Airflow is gonna hit...um...the left leg of each coil. I suppose that could work...
- Or I suppose you could do one fat Z coil - but then it's still got a long wick reach, I prefer duals, and it's a "bottom air Narda" if it's lucky.
I STILL might consider, but only if a couple squonkers had good things to say first.

That's good to know. I was gonna wait for an authentic on this round anyway.

Do you have to grind the bf pin or actually drill a hold in the SS?

What are your thoughts on the Shift?
Not bad! not bad at all. I still have to find the best coil for it but the flavor is pretty good. The draw is still too loose for the type of MTL vaping I like, but it's a keeper.
I got tired of waiting on the Pico squeeze from efun.top and since I was within a few miles of VaporDNA, I swung by and picked one up. It makes a good stealth setup, especially with the O-little on top.
I like the Odis for DL, but it makes for a very hot MTL draw if you close the af too much.
The Hadaly and I don't get along for now but that is most probably user error, I'll have to spend a little time figuring it out.
