The picos are neat. My only real gripe is that I always mistake the cap where the battery goes for the fire button

Thanks Hank. I'm a bit slow, what's an OG Dripbox? I have a Kangertech Dripbox 160.

The original dripbox. The pico is the same damn thing, just 50w instead of 60w

Ah. Thanks. The only thing holding me back from the pico frankly is the fact that it's a mech.

I suppose you could do one fat Z coil - but then it's still got a long wick reach
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with this type of coil, please enlighten the noob here.
I guess the only think I dislike on the Pico is the little light by the USB port. The SXK Odis atty has very good flavor but it sounds like the wind blowing at gale strength.
I am finally getting @Train comment about the coil sitting high and needing long wick tails. I guess the Odis could benefit from a little time with a polishing wheel, but it will have to wait for now.

Z coil is just centred. The legs of the coil make a Z shape to fit the velocity posts

That's good to know. I was gonna wait for an authentic on this round anyway.

Do you have to grind the bf pin or actually drill a hold in the SS?

ya have to drill the lil brass chunk that ya tighten your coils too.its not way hard but ya have to not screw the treads up where the bf pin comes in...a few ways i just did 1 hole in the top ..opposite of where the bf pin threads in...get it?then did a lil troff for the juice to make it to each juice well.til ya have one in hand all this may sound lil gibberish.but its still a great vape.

That is very true, but if stealth/size is considered, the Pico wins (IMO). I also like that the bottle door/cover is better secured with a larger magnet in the Pico. The Kangers have slightly rattly doors, at least both of mine do.

The Pico isn't THAT much smaller. And I've had not one issue with the bottle "door"

You would get the Dripbox because you know it, we would get the Pico cause we know it. Both are probably adequate.

I'd get a CopperVape over either, any day, all day, lol

I was just looking at that, and almost got one. I love the look.
But then I look at the deck and I'm thinking
- all my squonkers with deep wells are inferior in terms of "wet enough". No matter how I wick, it's better to be closer.
- Airflow is gonna hit...um...the left leg of each coil. I suppose that could work...
- Or I suppose you could do one fat Z coil - but then it's still got a long wick reach, I prefer duals, and it's a "bottom air Narda" if it's lucky.
I STILL might consider, but only if a couple squonkers had good things to say first.

FIREFLY-MED-6_1024x1024.jpg

But

WTF...that is a lot of thought, engineering, and machining to make a worthless bottom feed atty. Bottom airflow on any dripper puts you behind the eight ball, on a squonker it's absurd.

If you are considering a mech, the CopperVape beats the snot out of the a Dripbox or Pico

Heck, CVs compete well with the REO and other squonkers that cost really big bucks

Yep a much better mod the Coppervape is for the same or a bit more money. And you can get repair kits for it for a couple of bucks.

Hey now I like bottom airflow attys on a squonker.

Even with the Oatty and such you can over squonk and have a dribble out an airhole.

Amazing though that itty bitty Shift BF atty has never dribbled out the airhole yet.

On another note. I finally stripped out the junk inside one of the attys that came with a Dripbox.
Put 2 10/9 wrap 2.5 mm 26ga SS 316L spaced coils in there raise up to the top of the velocity style posts so as to catch the side airflow right.
Vaping in TC mode and it is not bad. Not great but not bad and you would have to work to flood that sucker. The triple orings on the bottom seal nice and you would have to put 10 ml or so in there for it to flood out the airholes.

Again not great attys by any means, but useable yes.

First impressions?

Softer than say, the CV standard bottle, nowhere near as soft as a real Italian bottle.

The hole in the aluminum cap is smaller than the typical tubing on the CV, REO, etc.

I just put one on the P67 and it is working, despite a little compression on the tubing.

Feel like they might split after prolonged use - kind of like there is a hidden seam.

Worth the price, can't remember, but was under $3 for five

Thanks. I have about 12 CV bottles and maybe 16 for the Dripboxes.
Fixed for a while.

Pretty sure those bottles, and a FrankenFake and one of whatever this is upload_2017-1-9_20-22-28.png are all sitting in my mailbox. SOMEthing from China was delivered. But I feel like shit and don't even want to go down the block for my mail. Especially because half the time, USPS claims things are delivered a day before they actually are.

I'll mess around with them this weekend, see how they function on other squonkers

Do you remember what fasttech calls them if I wanted to do a site search?

Replacement Squonk Bottle for FrankenSkull Mechanical Mod (5-Pack) PP / 8ml

As per a copy/paste from the FT notification email

The fasttech reviews on these bottles seem to be abysmal. I'll be anxious to see what you real squonkers think.

We'll see. I have one on my REO P67 and plan on taking it to work with me tomorrow - that will be a test, lol

If they last more than a couple of months, might be a decent budget option for some squonks. When you look at the ridiculous prices for teeny little squeeze bottles - or sometimes the flat-out unavailability, I'm always on the lookout for options

Nice thing, no leaks from the metal ring so far

If anyone wants to put a few bucks into their CV, the bottles for the Wraith fit in the CV perfectly and are super-soft.

I found this out before a recent trip out of town and I had to fly. Works in the CV beautifully. Of course, expensive for what it is, but super soft. I already had the Wraith which comes with one replacement bottle.

https://www.steepinggiant.com/hardw...ment-parts/the-council-of-vapor-wraith-bottle

Disclaimer about this outfit, Steepinggiant. I bought my Wraith through them on a pre-order, it was the the only place you could get them as per Council of Vapor. While I eventually received my Wraith, SteepingGiant had 100% the worst communication of any online vape shop ever in my experience, and I've dealt with quite a few over the years.

I haven't been able to find these replacement bottles anywhere else though. Haven't bought any yet. But when you look at the price of $5 or more per bottle for the soft Italians, this is not over the top

Here's a silly question for the squonk squad: are all CV's equal or are the SS better than the aluminum or brass? I think someone here mentioned the brass one is heavier than the others. Now that I have a second PicoSqueeze on its way, maybe I ought get a "grown up model" squonk box.

The SS is actually aluminum. The black and white ones are both prone to losing paint. The brass are SOLID brass. Heavy, but it's my fave. I have every version but the white.

I'd buy them if the electrical circuit wasn't so privative, I'm thinking about selling mine too...because I don't use um. Numbnuts (Vaughan) should have spent more time reading up on electrical theory before making mods.
