I was checking out another Favotank review and came across his photo. The Favotank is on the left with the wickless coil installed. I have not seen that type of discoloration in my Subtank unless I had residue from old juice mixing with new juice, and never to that degree. I'm not sure if the wickless coil is filtering the juice by absorbing particles, or if the ceramic tubing of the coil is breaking down and releasing sediment into the juice. Or maybe it's something else. Whatever, I don't think I like it.

Believe it or not, I actually have an answer to your question!

The discoloration is caused by heat. Plain and simple heat.

Some liquids will react to it quicker than others or not at all.

Not a scientist but I have noticed that the housing containing the ceramic wick will get a bit hotter than traditional heads will.

My Kayfun RBA builds will do the same thing.

Yesterday, I filled the Flavor Tank with a Brandy flavored E-Liquid and the liquid turned dark in a couple of hours (or less).

Today I filled it with a Tobacco flavored E-Liquid.

It is still the original color using the same tank and the same head at about the same wattage.

Be very carefull with the ST Mini. The glass on the ST series is EXTREMELY fragile and very hard to replace with the spare glass.

Warm to hot water is needed as well as a holy man burning sage to remove the old glass and replace.

Better yet, get two holy men.

No no! When you take it apart, lube the o rings with juice/VG - easy peasy :)

I do it by holding the glass in one hand and pushing the chimney through with my pinky finger. So far, it hasn't been a problem for me.

I had a Kanger Tech Subtank NANo for a freaggin day and a half. It was cool, but somehow it went away.

So I go back to the store and the owner didn't suggest it again, so I went with what he said and got the Arctic.

It's been good to me for ......... a whole two days. Now I got problems. The clouds are cool. But this bastard is getting kinda hot

But even moreso, the owner and my friend that had accompanied me set up my 30 w eleaf istick battery to my arctic

now the numbers are all screwed up. look, I got degree's and shite, I'm considered a damn smart dude by many; hell, even genius by some......

but it is in a very special way, not autism or anything, but to many practical things I got no clue (hence, dysfunction/mayhem and me go hand in hand

the directions dont help

to make this thing operate how many watts should I roll at?

these other numbers on it say 0.5 and 3.8v. what the hell is all that??????

i like good buzzes and a good smoke; could someone coach me up??

This thread is about subtanks, your question is more about your 30w eleaf, but I'll answer. Rapidly press your fire button 3 times and you will switch your mod to wattage mode. Right now you are on Volt mode.

I fire up my artic at between 60/70 watts, never had it as low 30w, so can't really say what you should expect. In my opinion a hot vape is a good one.

Just not as long as it burns off your lips....

I picked up an Isub and a 5 pack of coils during MFS's latest 40% off coil sale. $20.45 for everything delivered to the door. So far so good. Nice taste. Decent airflow. The coils run just over a buck a piece if you wait for the sales and are simple to rewick as well. I'm running max-VG in it, 87% VG on the one I'm currently using with no dry hits. It's not, however, a tank for higher wattage. It's rated at 20-35w and it's pretty warm at 35. I mostly run it at 20-25w or so. Pretty much intended to be used on the MVP30 or something similar I'd guess.

Im not sure if its the alcohol in me but i cant understand what you are saying. You say you have the arctic so i will give my experience with it, i had it for 2 weeks and sold it for a loss because 1. The vape was too warm for me and 2. The tank would get ridiculously hot.

Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk
Isn't it ironic that something called "the Arctic" gets too hot and vapes too warm?

This is my line up. Kanger sub mini on a 20 watt istick. My new Kanger sub tank hybrid on a istick 30 watt
Then my tug boat on my manhatten. I will tell this I really like the new hybrid. Great flavor at low watts running 1.2 ohms. Pretty much the same with my mini. Aint no cloud chaser. Just like a good smoke.

This x9000 i have had so many tanks chasing the perfect one and theyve all fallen short, closest for me is the silo beast with either the atlantis .5 ohm coils with bigger juice holes n airflow. And the vs atlatis nickel coil. For me it is almost perfect, the flavor, vapor, the looks, quality. Only thing holding it back is the occasional leaking when re filling

Does closing off the airflow help with the leaking? I'm wondering if it's because you it out the seal...

I do like my starre very much but the beast is even better in my opinion. The top fill and quality of the tank set it above the starre in my eyes. Can't go wrong with it

So the flavor and vapor production between the two are comparable?

My thoughts are that the flavor is better on the Silo beast but the vapor slightly better on the starre only due to the large airflow. Of course to fully use all that air, you have to have a coil with huge airflow, wattage set pretty high around 50 Watts plus. I always had mine turned down to around 32 watts so I didnt use all the airflow. In fact I was only just a few clicks open. Now the beast I dont have the air fully open either. Thats because I modified the top gasket a bit too much which made it too airy at fully open. Waiting on the new gasket now so then I can say for sure. Hope that Helps. IF I had to choose between the two, I would go with the Beast because of better flavor, ease to fill and the quality of the threading and maching is much better than the starre.

You know , looks like they might have some features working together that would make a nice tank. Ive not tried any of the verticle coil types. I might have to check one of these type systems out. Every time I go to the vape store here Im always looking at the new stuff that comes in. Seen some of these type attys that look like they would soak up alot of juice, and great air flow. Any of yall thaat know more tan me on this. I would love some input.

Your going to like the kanger mini. I use the 1.2 atty at around 3 volts and5.6 watts, in mine. Get great flavor and enough vaper to suit me. Like ive said im not a cloud chaser. But i do love to enjoy my flavors. I use to smoke a pipe. That turned into quite a collection of different pipes. I enjoyed my favorate tobaccos that suitedy taste. Well im the same about my vaping now. Collection of tanks and a couple of drippers. The kangers so far are giving me my best flavor at low watts and volts

Didn't have any more issues with leaking, but really haven't been using it lately. Will give it another go when the seals get here. For now, it's on the shelf.

Seems like they want it to be able to run Nautilus style with the small air holes 1.2ohm coil rated at 13 to 18 watts I think it said very versatile tank imo

All I've read is the Subtank... There's gotta be another tank that produces good clouds, great flavor, and superb build quality.
If you haven't already, read this entire thread. People talk about the Starre, iSub, Arctic, Atlantis V2, High Voltage, Maganus, Zephrys, Beast... You've got a selection to choose from.

You have to read the whole thread -there are a ton of subohm tanks out now!

The Atlantis 2 is terrific with the 0.3 ohm coil at 70 watts. But really only for lung hits. Amazing flavor and vapor.

I want to try the Beast, but I think I have too many tanks as it is :p
