Well I gotta say Freemax is awesome they saw my tweet about my broken tanks and sent me 2 brand new ones! On the other hand Ecigavenue where I bought from has no customer service at all.

Very cool to hear Freemax sent you two tanks. That is impressive customer service.

Boomeh, in regarding the .25 ohm coils I think they are hit and miss. I find the .5's to be more consistent. I also have the Atlantis v2 1.0 ohm coils en route that I am going to use with the Starre. Cant wait to try them.

I'm going to try the ni200 Herakles coils in the Starre maybe I will have better luck. In the meantime I'm considering breaking out the dykes and trimming the coil sleeves to possibly allow better wicking. I've noticed the much larger rectangular holes in the tct coils and think I may test my theory that bigger holes in the sleeves will help on the Freemax coils

I'm on subtank hell today. I have been a temp guy since Feb when I put the sx m in service. That's all I vaoe with. Well of course now there is a shortage of vs nickel coils. I picked up the last three my B&M had so I have to make them last. So I grabbed a,few .3 Atlantis V2 coils. So I have the nickel on my sx m on the Atlantis 7ml and the .3 in my solo beast on the ivp3. Breaking in both now and I have cotton mouth bad. Ugh bad start to Friday night. Just hope the vs shortage is cleared asap

I've never used the Vapor Shark coils to know how they compare but I have been using the Heatvape Ecotank Ni coils and really like them. They fit in my Atlantis, Herakles and Starre and have a small nut to adjust juice flow. You might be able to find some if the VS ones don't become available.

My experience was I had increased flavor and was able to crank the power up. However I went through coils faster too so it was a trade off lol

Awesome, I'll give it a try. I'm not worried about coil life so much because I've been playing around with re-wicking the stock coils, and cotton is cheap.

I may to check them out. Hopefully I can stretch these three out. Lately they have not been lasting as long as the initial lot that I got.

Cool Man. I got the .3 with the huge air flow and holes. On the IVP3 this thing is really chucking and the flavor seems almost better than the nickle.... Interesting I find :;)

Ok, well I haven't gone through this entire thread, but I seem to be the only person that has a problem with the Starre Freemax. I use the .25 coils on a sigelei 150. The coils are rated for 100w, but I've had problems with burning constantly on these coils at anything above 50w. I even used it on my Vertex mechmod and had burning/dry hit problems. I have used about 15 coils since I got the tank. I soak them overnight now. I have tried various juices from various sources from 70vg/30pg to 85/15, 90/10, and now vaping 100vg. Still the same problem. I just ordered the new TCT tank and after that I will just use the Starre with .5ohm coils on my KBox at 40w, IF I don't just chuck it in my drawer and forget about it. I am very disappointed with it, and I have no idea why no one else seems to have these problems, but it has been my experience. The tank is very well designed and I love the airflow, but it seems to me that the coils are sub-par. I have a feeling that if the holes on the coil sleeve were bigger it may not be such a problem.
I have been using a Atlantis V2 .3 coil in my Maganus/Starre tank with no problems. I use max vg ejuice.

You guys are killing me with all this great information. I'm pretty happy with my Kanger Mini but I've experienced the same inconsistent flavor, leaks and dry hits everyone else has, so I can't say I'm apeshit over it. So, I'm heavily considering a second tank, with emphasis on great flavor that doesn't need extreme wattage (only have an IPV2 Mini) but which doesn't devour my juice insanely. But every time I think I've settled on the Starre, or the Atlantis V2, or the Herakles, or the High Voltage, or the Zephrus, or the Silo, somebody throws a wet blanket over me with a report of spit back or massive juice consumption or muted flavor or bases falling apart. I'm back to Square One now!

Believe me, We all go through that. It is the Holy Grail looking for that vape perfection. Then you have the shinyitis which is when something new comes on the market and really want to believe that this is the one thing that is going to happen. In the past 6 months I have went through so many tanks that you wouldn't believe and now we add temperature control so here we go again.

I have a kanger mini that I really like. Dont use the rba but tebuild thr atomoxers tom my desired 1. 6 ohms . Now for my newest addition I picked up the newest of the kanger family. The sub tank hybrid . Shes 25 mm with a totally b diferant rba that bocent give the burnt plastic taste and I dont sub ohm. I like mine around 1.6 fpr a good flavor and npt having to turn thinhs up to hot. I still get my best flavor from the abomizers. They com 1.2 but Ill re build them to around 1.6 . Im also partual to tribeca. Found a shop here in huntville al. That makes thier own juice. Can get it about 60-40 so its abit thinner and soaks in better. So I would say this new kamger hybrid is a good tank model. Ill post som pictures of my tank models soon as i learn to since im new here. Yall have a great day vaping. So far 6 months for me and no cigs. But getting quite a colletion of gadgets for vaping. Did the same thing with my pipes when i picked up them. Still have some nice pipes. Some pretty old from estate sales. But thats another story

Ill say this....I gave one of mine away already to a friend i just found out was still rocking a lizard juice setup...I almost died...they worked fine...but this just works better and looks nice.

its fun to walk in the vape store and have the peeps wonder what sort of sorcery it is you carry. A black subtank on an evic really threw them off their game. Im not saying, but Im saying, it MIGHT have taken two guys puffing on their bad ass rigs to compete with the could I was generating. One may or may not have even a second mod out of his pocket to double down on me :) lol

This x9000 i have had so many tanks chasing the perfect one and theyve all fallen short, closest for me is the silo beast with either the atlantis .5 ohm coils with bigger juice holes n airflow. And the vs atlatis nickel coil. For me it is almost perfect, the flavor, vapor, the looks, quality. Only thing holding it back is the occasional leaking when re filling

The Beast is a great tank. Even though mine is kinda screwy with the oversized gasket it still cranks out the clouds and flavor. I have put Atlantis nickel in both the original atlantis and the silo. same juice and setting on an sx m and IMO, the flavor is better on the beast. Maybe the Atl V2 has improved flavor but IDK. I am enjoying the V2 Atl coil at .3 using power / Kanthal mode. I think the flavor is really great using that setup. I may have to start using Kanthal again here and there..... I am really interested to see how the beast will perform with the correct seal...

An up and coming contender is going to be the Yocan Flavotank.

They sent me one a couple of weeks back and I am in the process of writing a review.

I have no idea what the price will be when it hits the market as they tell me they are going to make some design changes based on some of my recommendations like having an adjustable center pin and an RBA head for the beast.

I will tell you that it is a well built critter, extremely easy to fill from the bottom (so easy that I am not even going to bitch about it not being a top fill device) and the "Wickless" 0.50 Ohm ceramic head does work surprisingly well under about 32-35 watts and can be cleaned, the coil dry burned and reused at least once.

Our own Smokie has already posted a video review so you may wish to check that out.

I know you've had issues with most tanks based on your posts, so for you to praise the Beast says something. When you refer to the .5 coil you mean the V2, right? How bad is the juice consumption compared to the other hogs? With regards to the nickel coils, do I need a temperature control device to use them?

How much does that setup affect your battery life and juice consumption? I've only got an iStick 50 that decided it no longer wants to work, and an IPV Mini 2 with the single 18650.

I imagine with that unique head that it won't work with other coils, meaning it may be difficult buying replacements...

With the V2 coil at .3 I found my spot is at 40 watts. Using nickel I use 32 joules. Juice consumption is pretty much average across the subtank series. You will go through some juice with the .3 since you drive it pretty high. I have a single 18650 in my sx. It won't last all day if u chain vape it. Just carry few extra batteries and you will good to go. Either you istick or ivp2 will be fine

I imagine with that unique head that it won't work with other coils, meaning it may be difficult buying replacements...

The device comes with two more traditional coils with cotton wicks. One each 0.50 and 0.20 ohm head plus the 0.50 ohm ceramic wick head.

The availability of replacement heads is unknown at this point as the device itself is not available for purchase to the best of my knowledge yet.

As far as comparison to the other devices you have mentioned, I can't in all honesty say as I do not own them.

But I can compare to the Kanger Subtank series.

IMHO, the Subtanks do offer a slightly better flavor and vapor. But still marginal.

That being said, the Favotank does not go through liquids anywhere near as fast as the Subtanks do.

And at least to me, it is a better and more robust built device that the Subtanks.

I just got these Vapeonly Nickel coils in the mail today and just put one in my new Atlantis 2. I couldn't find any info on them so I risked the $13 with shipping on these. I'm about halfway through a tank and flavor and vapor are OK at this point. They even sell nickel Nautilus coils lol

That's pretty interesting Esp for a nickel coil at .25. Most are .15 and below. Adjustable juice flow too. Interesting to hear your thoughts on once it's broke in on flavor n vapor production

I had a Kanger Tech Subtank NANo for a freaggin day and a half. It was cool, but somehow it went away.

So I go back to the store and the owner didn't suggest it again, so I went with what he said and got the Arctic.

It's been good to me for ......... a whole two days. Now I got problems. The clouds are cool. But this bastard is getting kinda hot

But even moreso, the owner and my friend that had accompanied me set up my 30 w eleaf istick battery to my arctic

now the numbers are all screwed up. look, I got degree's and shite, I'm considered a damn smart dude by many; hell, even genius by some......

but it is in a very special way, not autism or anything, but to many practical things I got no clue (hence, dysfunction/mayhem and me go hand in hand

the directions dont help

to make this thing operate how many watts should I roll at?

these other numbers on it say 0.5 and 3.8v. what the hell is all that??????

i like good buzzes and a good smoke; could someone coach me up??

Im not sure if its the alcohol in me but i cant understand what you are saying. You say you have the arctic so i will give my experience with it, i had it for 2 weeks and sold it for a loss because 1. The vape was too warm for me and 2. The tank would get ridiculously hot.

The .5 is the resistance load of the coil. The 3.8v means your iStick is in variable voltage mode, and is currently outputting 3.8 volts whenever you hit the trigger. Pressing the trigger three times toggles the iStick from variable voltage mode to variable watts mode, and vice versa. You must have done this without knowing.

I don't own an Arctic, but I think your friend and the store owner didn't do you any favors pairing an Arctic with an iStick 30. That mod is way too under-powered for that tank. You probably need something that can go up to 50 or 60 watts minimum to get your Arctic to perform like it should.

I was checking out another Favotank review and came across his photo. The Favotank is on the left with the wickless coil installed. I have not seen that type of discoloration in my Subtank unless I had residue from old juice mixing with new juice, and never to that degree. I'm not sure if the wickless coil is filtering the juice by absorbing particles, or if the ceramic tubing of the coil is breaking down and releasing sediment into the juice. Or maybe it's something else. Whatever, I don't think I like it.
