My Boreas and Alleria came in today. Huge airflow on this thing. I put in a couple claptons 26/32 SS 8 wraps each and it vapes ok but I can't really dial the flavor in. I don't like a really hot vape. Anyone found a good build for this monster tank for a cool flavorful vape? I generally vape on the cool side around 50 watts. I'm thinking I should be able to build a large coil that will produce even more vapor in the temp I like.

I seem to find myself going in the opposite direction. When I first started vaping I started with a 40w mod and a STM. The I moved up to a 75w mod. Then a I bought the Crown and loved it but I was going thru 3-4 batteries a day and I wasnt getting the most out of my Crown. I started buying 200w mods and more Crowns. Now, I started building and I find myself needing less wattage but getting more flavor and clouds. The way I'm going I could be real happy with just an Avocado or Boreas and and a 100w mod.

This is what I'm trying to explain.... If you have plenty of money buy a 80 watt mod..... Later you will see a tank that you like but it's a subohm tank with coils that are .25 ohms.... This tank will require 80 to 100 watts to get flavor and clouds.....

Now you decided to get a 120watt box mod.... But 6 months down the line you want an rda with nice coils.... Lots of wraps mean ohms around .15 to .20 now you need more power because 120 watts it's not enough.......

Now you look for a 200 watt mod..... Just get a strong mod and you will never have to worry about power...... Don't keep buying and buying

I'm not buying an 80w mod. My mother already HAS one and is using a tank with premade coil heads (that are $4 a pop). She isn't a cloud chaser and I wanted to know if the Boreas would work. (I posted here while waiting on a reply from @raymo2u in PM)

That was build #2 for me in the boreas just to test single coil for someone else. It was between a .3 and .4 from what i remember. Was pretty decent between 60 and 80 watts. Almost as good as dual coil for me which I usually run between .15 and .2 around 115 watts. If she already has the box it is entirely possible to still have a satisfying vape at 80w or less on the boreas.

Just like raymo advised me, put your coils 3mm from the build deck vertically, and as far out as you can get them. Dramatic improvement in flavor.

Omg I freaking love this tank. Clouds for dayzzz. Huge juice capacity and hasn't leaked a single drop. Think I found my new favorite tank. I wish I would have ordered another one instead of the griffin 25. Oh well I'm going to order another one anyways. It's that good.:);)

I am running two Boreas attys with double coils at 1 ohm. Yes, running two 2 ohm coils. Gets its best at between 40 and 45 watts.

I have run it on a 60W Istick before, but the single battery does not last. I ran it on the Fuchai 200 W for awhile and the double batteries would last all day - but barely.

Been running it on an RX200 with triple batteries for about a week and the batteries will last a day and a half even doing two or three tanks a day.

Oh... Maybe 3 wrap....

Sent from my 710C using Tapatalk
Just about 4-5 Wraps....Im not planning on using as much Ribbon or the same exact sizes but the end result will look the same.
6 x .3R/28N80/40N80/50N80 will probably be the specs and it should fit 4 or 5 wraps at 3mm in the Boreas, should be around .09 in Dual Coils...should be a great vape though.

They only look big on the Macro lens...they are pretty damn tiny in person....you can just barely make out that thin fusing wire with your eyes while your holding it.

That looks like a stapleto me bud...looks like a Staple due to the Square form and Straight clapton. What chinese and other manufacturers call Alien is nothing more then Ribbon laid horizontally and claptoned....not a true alien.

This is a Alien Coil:

....Okay...I get it now...There are called Cat Tracks (Caterpillar Track Coils) If they are Fused Claptons that are flattened...just a heads up...

It takes time practice and some patience...but if your not doing it for fun then it may not be for you...I get frustrated sometimes but after awhile you get a feeling of zen making them...and then you think about it all damn day...then you drive everyone around you nuts by showing off "what you made today" ;)
I prick myself all the time stick and the worst yet is getting a piece of Ribbon wire under your fingernails...or leaving a Staggered Fused clapton clipping on the floor and accidentally step on it in the middle of the night and then it bend almost 90 degrees INSIDE of your big toe...then you have to pull it out some then turn it and pull it out more...

There are many of us on the forum check out the thread where most of us chit chat and post our builds: LINK

If you go on Instagram you will see there are thousands and thousands of builders and most of them make just about everything that Ive made look like Juicy's coil :D:D:D

This is the primary reason I build stuff. I really don't need to, I have access to a lot of wire types, but it's a zen thing after a while, as long as it isn't going to hell..plus I like experimenting on new stuff. That's why I've been doing all the braids, it's more orderly and doesn't require power drills :D it's just another layer to this hobby / job for me. I don't pretend to be an expert at it but I'm happy with the more intricate stuff I've made, and more importantly, I had more fun making it than I do vaping on it. If that isn't the case for people wanting to do the complex builds, they're gonna get real frustrated haha

I dont even vape half the builds I make anymore....I just mount them and take pics, heat them up for colors and then take more pics and then add it to the coil graveyard and make something different...I love building

Most of the braids I haven't vaped on. But I vape on the aliens and staples. And a couple of the braids are actually really good
