Since I recently did a SFT of WF brazilian coffee (that I love), I used the rest and threw together a "tiramiso" (added chocolate, yellow cake, some caramel and bavarian cream) It already tastes great... should get even better after a steep.

If you're open to suggestions for the tiramisu, maybe some Cap Vanilla Whipped Cream? 1-1.5%? Would lighten the texture up just a tad.

That WF Brazilian Coffee is pretty great. I hated it the first time I used it, but then Gypsy gave me a good talking-to. lol

A test going on today, using Peach Pie and Cream.

As S&V PPT1 is good, not better than good but it's ok imo.
Not necessarily looking for a peach vape, but a little more peach shining through would be ok. But not going to get straight peach to add to it.

The Cookie and PP&C, as you experienced could know, is coming through as a cookie/pie crust, albeit flavored from the other ingredients.
Because of my limited knowledge and flavors, I thought I'd remove a little cookie in case it's drowning peach, and adding the only other flavor I have that makes sense to me atm > Vanilla Swirl > to lighten it up a tad.

Meanwhile I have a cart of flavors going on @ BCF, that includes Vanilla Ice Cream and I have a few other vanillas already so I think I'm ok in the vanilla dept. for now. The cream in the peach pie nor the cream in butter cream isn't discernable and I'd like it to be......
1649105198669.png
....so I want to add to the BCF cart something along the lines of cream or milk or both, If anyone has any suggestions on those 2 flavors,,,, and what you might do with PPT1? (other than scrap it:giggle:)

I would drop the cookie way down. Like 1%. FA Cookie will take over everything. What kind of cream are you looking for? I have so many that I really like, but a few of the top ones for me

FLV Cream, WF Vanilla Cream Extra, CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream, I feel like some TFA Bavarian Cream is a good one to have in the cabinet, there are way too many others to just list, I could go on for a while.

I was thinking Cap Vanilla Whipped Cream also. About 1.5%. Agree about the FA Cookie (but y'all know how I despise FA Cookie), would also drop Butter Pecan down to 1%. Wouldn't do anything else until that had a chance to steep a few days, then go from there.

I agree with all the advice above. It’s also possible the coconut is a little high, as well.

I would add FA Milk to the milk/cream list. I would also add an ice cream like SSA Ice Cream Vanilla or LB Vanilla Ice Cream. Ice cream is definitely useful for more than just ice cream. And FW Yogurt is useful for creaming things up. Not super twangy….more like GoGurt. And having a Bavarian cream is a must. TFA is probably the most middle of the road one. And then there’s TFA Vanilla Swirl which is like a soft serve ice cream.

Just reread your post and realized that you’re doing the ice cream thing…..oops.🤣

I like that idea, drop the cookie to 1%,,,,or even omit it? Maybe w/o the cookie I'd get a whiff of peach...even if I drop the peach to 5% or 5.5 because if it's not going to give any or much peach then I don't want too much crust. Adding FLV Cream & TFA Bavarian Cream to the cart.

Lowering Coconut by 1/2 = 1%.
Adding FA Milk and FW Yogurt and had but ordering more Vanilla Swirl to cart, yep already got SSA Vanilla Ice Cream in there from @Heartsdelight earlier. :)

Not getting Vanilla Whipped Cream atm, been using vanillas and will still have 4 vanillas after this order.

Update:

Updating my subbing SSA Ice Cream Vanilla for LB Vanilla Ice Cream.

Used the same % in my all time fav recipe from @Nevans Nick’s Golden Ice Cream. It worked off the shake & next day so far. It’s delicious, almost taste more of the soft serve vanilla ice cream. I call it a win! I’m not great at describing flavors but it’s delicious & a great sub.

ok ok, I think this finally sunk in.
If I make a vape ready nic base, and the flavor percentage changes by even as much as 5%, we're still talking a miniscule insignificant difference in the three original premixed ratios.

Right? LOL

I’ve only ever mixed everything indivividually. Mathematically speaking unless the flavor % is the same it would change the nic, pg/vg. I guess one has to decide if the difference affects their final juice. I know, I’m not helping lol!

Yes, you are.
Looks like I can manage the nic that way, but the pg gets to too far out.

This means I'm starting to see what kind of bottles I want for everything,
and the need for organization and dedicated space.

I just like the convenience of making my unflavored base ahead of time (I make 6 mg and 12 mg... if I need 9 mg I just mix those) Sure, the extra PG from flavors throws the ratio off a bit but I'm not worried too much (I mix base at 70VG/30PG and end up around 65VG/35PG that is fine... any more than 35% PG bothers my throat) I make my bases in 100 ml batches. Use the scale for the nic and also for the PG then just top off (by eye) the VG to the 100 ml mark. Another reason I like to have unflavored bases handy is for diluting and/or flushing my tanks.
BTW, I love WF bavarian cream for an all purpose ingredient (I haven't tried TFA) And yes... too much cookie overpowers everything else (but don't take it completely out of the recipe)

Thanks for your input. Revisited calculator. And like this, there's not enough difference to matter - to me. The plan is 150ml at a time, maybe more if its an adv. and I can adjust on that occasion.

So my 2-3 recipes have been 15%. Do you think 13-17 are good numbers to go with?

Agree with this. I mix base at 25/75 and figure it's pretty close to 35/65 when all is said and done. I can't do much more than 65% VG or it bothers my lungs. My constitution isn't sensitive enough to notice small differences in nic level, and besides, I'm switching around with the flavors I vape all day, so it's a mixture of strengths and viscosities anyway.

I have one recipe that only has about 7% flavor in it, haven't mixed it lately, but that's one that I might actually notice as having too much VG. Would have to try it and see, and I guess when I'm mixing it I'd leave some room in the bottle to add a little PG if necessary.

I just looked through the 15-20 most recent recipes at ELR and most are under 10% flavor, only about 3 higher than 14%. Other than your 1 that is about 7%, what about others?

Of my favorite recipes, there were five that were between 16 and 19 percent, then about 20 that were between 10 and 15 percent.

I would mix all of them with the same base, except for the 7% recipe, because I'm not sensitive to a little extra PG.

I forgot to mention (and keep in mind I don't care about perfect accuracy) I kind of "wing it"... if a recipe has many flavors (so a higher % of total flavors), I just add a bit more unflavored base to compensate. I just mixed my peanut butter banana pudding with vanilla wafer that is like that so just put in a little extra base. I guess it will kinda suck if I post the recipe (with %) and it confuses others (without doing the proper math to compensate) For me, it's more like cooking... does anyone actually measure chili powder or do you just get an instinctive feel for how much to use? I'll admit... I do tend to mix too strong (and then end up diluting the entire batch) but I'm more concerned with getting the proportions of flavors right. If I post one of my recipes here, consider reducing the % a bit.

I'd name a mix like that something unimaginative like "Brown Butter Cake." The most prominent flavors are going to be the Butter Pecan and the Caramel. It sounds seriously yummy. Sometimes I can come up with clever names, but I'm sick, so not today! lol

Just a suggestion, and I know you didn't ask, but you might consider backing off that 3% Flv Pound Cake. That's really high for an Flv concentrate. It's rare that you'd need to go over 2% on Flv, and you don't want to mute your flavors.

The rule of thumb I've used with Flv flavors is that I figure (in my head) about 4 times the percentage to make them relative to other brands, so the 3% of pound cake is about like using 12% of another maker's pound cake. Ymmv, of course, but just a suggestion.

Agreed. I usually start FLV at 0.5% and go up(or down) from there.

I thought of Caramel Pecan Pound Cake a la mode, but I don't think the caramel/pecan shows up enough to be in the title...I bet why is becasue he looks/acts like a Toby :)
...@nadalama, I welcome any and all suggestions. I haven't done 1 SFT yet and wanted pound cake to show through. They say that bread is lightly buttered and the pecan has butter and don't want a lot of butter, so lowering PC might help caramel/pecan [w/o too much butter?] show up a bit more than they do?, which would be good imo . I'll try it.
Why don't I send you some of what's mixed?

I don't have FLV pound cake but a reviewer tried it at 5 % and liked it (6 years ago so they tended to mix higher back then) Yes, most FLV flavors are very strong but a few you can go higher (like mango at 3-4%)
Does it really need sweetener? Sounds like it would be great without it. It will need a good steep to develop some of those flavors. Good job!

I am not one to turn down offers of diy juice, but if you want some feedback on it, now might not be a good time. I have a monster of a sinus infection and my face feels like it's "out to here," if you know what I mean. My taster is all screwed up, too; have been tasting metal for about four days. Thanks for offering, though.

A couple days ago, I mixed my Peach Pie (have mixed it before and very happy with the results)... letting it steep. It's for my Kroma Z pod with a 0.3 ohm coil (at 30 watts) In the meantime (before I put a new coil in) I'm vaping FW Black Licorice. I tried that with ice cream before and liked it. Decided to try adding FW marshmallow (got it for s'mores but was disappointed... it doesn't have much flavor) Total win! In my other pod (0.8 ohm coil at 15 watts) I always vape my tobacco mix (nutty RY4) One time I accidentally added my apple pie to top off the tank... it was good) I decided to add some old TFA Apple Pie (don't use it anymore... have better ones for that) Total fail! Might just try adding simple apple instead (FA Fuji)
I posted it before but if anyone is interested, here's my Peach Pie:
TFA peach juicy 3%
FA white peach 2%
OOO pie crust 3%
WF croissant 1.5%
FA liquid amber 0.5%
FA cinnamon ceylon (drops)
"a' la mode":
SSA ice cream 2.5%

The sweetener, didn't have it in the 10ml tester and needed a bit for my liking and for me it became much better. So I added it to the 100ml. That was yesterday and still good on the shake. Today it kind of seems a little sweeter maybe,,, could be me,,, but not out of the ball park. I'll see what it's like when I'm near done w/the bottle. I could potentially see dropping the sweetener a tad but def needs some imo.

@Vape Fan , thank you so much for the samples of your recent DIY mixes!
Honestly, I like Roadworthy better (in fact a lot) No Name is OK... actually kinda weak. It deserves another try for sure (I couldn't wait so busted out a new extra pod to try it now) It has a very subtle note I don't like... slightly "floral" (almost "soapy") but hardly noticable. Trying to guess which flavor caused that (maybe too much pound cake?) I think you don't need the milk at all... ice cream works fine for this.
@wildgypsy70 , since you mentioned having all the flavors, I was wondering if you have ever noticed an off taste with FLV pound cake? Maybe because it was mixed high %... and it might steep out anyway.

if I had straight Pecan (BCF Roasted oos) I'dve had more control over the butter. Which bring to my attention that most of the dual or 3x flavors are probably better as bought individually. It could do w/a little less sweetener imo.

BTW, even though it's a lot of work, I do a SFT of every flavor I get (of course, I'm low budget so don't order that many) It's still hard to predict how they will react with other flavors but gives you a general idea and helps identify any issues. I just make small 10 ml batches to test.
It makes sense to get simple single flavors but there are some really good ones that are "multi-flavor" too.

I have. Pound cake is usually used under 2% but I was going to mix this at what the recipe said and another tweaked one. And you could be right about the milk. I have a cold right now(ugh) and nothing tastes quite right. But I might mix before work to give things time to steep and be ready when my sinuses decide to behave.

I haven't tried a coconut vape (and love coconut) I want to try it in a bakery recipe but then something reminded me of when we used to go to the high country in Yosemite and stay up all night watching the meteors. Saw some amazing meteors and once even saw the aurora. Anyway... all we would bring is coffee, hot cocoa and malibu rum (sweet coconut rum) I have coffee, chocolate and want to get VT light rum. Any suggestions for a good coconut flavor?

FLV Sweet Coconut is my go to. Checks all the boxes. Creamy, sweet, no suntan lotion.

VT Desiccated Coconut is a perfect dried, flaky, sweetened coconut.

MB Palm Coconut is also quite good. Along the lines of Cream of Coconut(the super sweet stuff used in alcoholic drinks).

This thread is slow (and I'm bored) so...
Thought of this a few days ago. I've tried licorice with marshmallow, lemon with buttermint, and licorice with lemon. Going to try them all together (I hear faint mutterings "this guy is crazy") LOL

OK... watching DIYirDie Noted on coconuts I found the perfect flavor for the coffee/cocoa recipe:
WF - Coconut Rum
Also a good flavor. Definitely more for what you’re looking for.

@wildgypsy70 , your post showed up right after I did mine. Thank you.
Also considering PUR toasted coconut cheesecake for bakery recipes.
It’s a good one. Specific uses and does need a back up cheesecake(INW is my fav, but most of the cheesecake flavors have that coconut taste thing going on).

You might be, but if you like it, then who cares!
