Would you rather watch baseball or football?
I'll go with football... More action. But, I don't watch either for certain reasons.

Do you think it was just a coincidence or on purpose that two planes crashed into two different food processing plants?

If it weren't for the cost of fuel, I'd go with the RV. A place to stay without bedbugs, restroom whenever I need it, taking the dog with me, worry about jerks trying bullshit on the road.... But, I do miss riding motorcycles.

Considering that despite inflation, much of the essentials you might want are hard to find in stores, how much have you considered ordering them online, instead of having to go with a different brand?

I get things online all the time. Amazon may be an evil giant, but there are lots of other sellers there, including small businesses. Ebay has more "online garage sale" than evil giants, by far.

For a summer date with a new friend, not sure where it will go, putt putt golf or movie?

Movie. Competition with someone I barely met never goes well, especially if I win.

Here's a stock photo of the coffee mug I use every day, 18 oz. I have other big mugs, and I don't know why I'm so attached to this one, but I'm thinking of getting a spare on in case it gets chipped or broken.

Tiff mug.JPG

I have looked longingly at the ones that say "Good Morning Beautiful", and wished someone would give me one.

A bit of an obsession, coffee mugs, if you can't tell.

I don't know about clones, because it would take time to grow a clone to maturity, and beyond that to middle or old age, but certainly I think there are doubles, helped by CGI, plastic surgery, silicone masks and such things, especially for TV and movie presentation. I think that's why they want to continue the Covid masking. It makes even the live fakery easier to carry off.

Apparently we'll eat stuff after the expiration date. There was a chocolate cake mix that was stashed away for many many years. I didn't look at the date and fixed it. It tasted good and we didn't get sick/ food poisoning. Look at the date after we ate a piece.

Do you use a regular toothbrush or an electric toothbrush?

Me too, for canned and jar goods. Hardly mind the expiry dates. I think they put on dates because they have to, and it's all a bet or a guess. I'm careful with shelf stable jerky, cheese, dried fruit and packaged goods that are not canned.

Regular toothbrush for me.

Next question, for a casual Saturday:

Male: jeans or sweats

Do you like to walk in the rain or are you a fair weather person?

I know you were tormented by too much rain for your planting season Jimi, and I often think we are under weather manipulation, have been for a long time, but otherwise, glad you asked. I LOVE the rain. It seems like when I finish planting something and get the mulch patted around it, it rains afterwards, sometimes within minutes, or at least the next morning, like a blessing. I like walking in the rain, and staring out the window on a beautiful droopy rainy day.

Next question: TV or podcast?

I saw the pics, and honestly it doesn't look like anything unusual. I've seen postcards, photos and paintings all my life, all depicting that "red sky at night, sailors delight".

Next thing.

To add to the previous, my latest madness is glazed croissants. OMG, better than any donut or pastry. HEB grocery stores here have them, except when they're sold out, which happens immediately when they put them out.

Water, ice or no? I enjoy ice water but I never make ice at home. Nothing else in my freezer will take on a weird taste/smell except ice. When people come for dinner and ask if they can bring anything, I say ice if you want it.

Wood fire or gas fireplace?

Glazed croissants are soooo good!

Gas fireplace. I have NO affinity with fire. If I had to depend on a fireplace or wood heater for warmth, I would freeze to death. Gas is also so much cleaner.

At your house, are leftovers stored in glass or plastic? Or tossed? (My son will not keep leftovers, which to me is unconscionable, but hey, it takes all kinds to make a world.)

Leftovers are kept in plastic, but only for up to 2 days. After that, it either goes to the dog, or the trash. I refuse to have a fridge or freezer filled with leftovers, especially when hubby could (but won't) take any to work for his lunches.

When someone close to you dies, do you keep a momento, or do you get rid of everything that reminds you of that person?

I'd be afraid to eat a foraged mushroom, but it is fun to find mushrooms growing here and there after a really rainy season, which is rare here in south Texas. A true story from my life, within the past year: once on a daily walk, at one of the houses I saw a tote bag sitting among the trash bins, open at the top. I could see it contained rocks. I peeked in and noticed these rocks had fossil imprints. I wanted, I lusted, I drooled. Is this trash, I wondered, or did the owner dash back inside to get her sunglasses or something?
I decided I should leave it for the moment. Back home, I waited for the trash truck to come and go, then walked back down to that house. The tote was still there! MINE, ALL MINE. I picked it up (heavy!) and brought it home. OMYGAWD, all sorts of interesting rocks and crystal points. The fossil rocks have imprints of some kind of scallop shell. I still have all of them.

As for the salad question, I'm adventurous, but foraging in the inner city is limited. I love crunchy juicy lettuce with some spring mix and parsley mixed in.
Next question: Politics, or religion? :hamster:

Have to keep an eye the evils of this world

Religion...I don't go to church a four wall indoctrination institute (hmmm just like schools) , but I do follow and worship Yahushua.

Don't like either one of these....

It depends on how long since I last saw the friend. Talking on the phone is definitely more warm and personal, and gets out on tangents and by-the-ways.

For your favorite coat:

Fleece, wool or acrylic? I hate polyester in clothes, but for coats it's different. Polyester fleece feels like a soft blanket, can be machine washed and dried to come out warm and fluffy, really keeps out the cold when worn outdoors, doesn't attract moths in the closet, and makes a nice snuggly blanket on a plane. Anyway, had to insert my preferences there, but interested in others' answers.

I do a lot of outside work in adverse weather so I am leaning on wool. Wool retains more heat when wet than fleece or polyester

When going camping with grandparents, it was an RV.
When going with Dad and step mom, they camped in a pickup truck camper, however, the children would camp in tents. Girls in one boys in another tent.
Going camping with mom it was a Pop Up camper.
When we were older, it was tent.

To add to the previous, I really enjoy camping, especially by a river or lake where you can jump in for a swim and get clean, but I'm always the one sleeping in the car. I don't want to sleep with the spiders and snakes.

I own several solar power battery chargers. A bit of prepper overkill in recent years, mainly to ensure... you guessed it, recharging my vapes!

This might surprise you, but I sold out to 100 pods (dounut house blend) very bland but also very mild I was just tired of dealing with the K cup things with Folgers (yes... better coffee but tired of rinsing those out... now I just throw one in, throw another one in (flavor is kinda bland but I don't care) What I meant was the re-usable pods (tried fancy coffee that I ground myself and it clogged the filter) Gave up and just doing crappy low quality for now. Used to drink Vanilla Nut fresh ground... oh well.

Do or don't you think of a question the night before and when you come here to answer the question you forgot the question you were going to ask?
I do that all the time, and after a while it isn't easy to come up with engaging questions.

So my next one is about breast feeding vs. bottle. It's just been on my mind that the 20th century consumer products driven economy steered women away from breast feeding their babies, toward working to have that second job in the household, to buy more consumer products, and on and on. It seems to have hit home really hard now, with the baby formula shortages as part of the supply chain breakdown. I'm thinking a lot lately about how we'd have an umbrella if we'd cultivated diversity among ourselves, consumed the 100 mile diet of our regional farms and factories, if we'd spent time growing food instead of working for money to buy food, food that often comes from far away as countries with starving populations have exported their farm products, basically as suppliers to the corporate colonialist table.

So I'm climbing off my soapbox now. Breast or bottle?

Breast for at least the first two weeks, because of antibodies delivered to yon babe. Was a working mother myself, couldn't have made it if I'd had to work and pump and breast feed during off-hours. However, some of these young women who are freaking out about formula shortages could take a note from Dr. Spock. A formula for any babies who aren't sensitive to cow's milk can be made with equal parts evaporated milk and sterilized water, plus a daily recommended dose of baby vitamin drops (with iron for girls), and a touch of syrup (corn, real maple, etc). Not everything that is old-fashioned is worthless. It also isn't necessary for most babies to wait until they're half grown before you start feeding them solids.

There are several flavors of Torani sugar free syrup that have very high consumer ratings online. All of the snowcone and slush vendors need to get up to date on that. Lots of people don't want unnecessary sugar anymore, but would still like to enjoy a snowcone.

That's a tough one too, can't have either of those either but I am gonna go with the Italian style calzone, Stromboli is supposedly the American version. When I was a kid an Italian family lived just down the street. They had a boy my age and we got to be good friends and ate at each others houses. His mom made only Italian foods and I got to sample a lot of them.:) I loved it.
