Wife bought me a new "dumb" phone. Still a Motorola brand one. Today, we'll go let the service company swap out the sim card. We'll also go do laundry.

I carry a phone for work. Yes, got a few games on it, a few streaming service apps. Think I'll clear most of that off though. Don't really make a lot of use of it. Don't take pictures on my phone either.

Not a phone zombie here. *shrugs* Not much of anything really, just myself. Sometimes I wonder what life would be if I took interest enough to be something like other people. Then, I think I'm glad I never developed a lot of attachments.

So I sit and watch, smile as others carry conversations on. Keep myself to myself, staying warm inside. Hm, ...

Then, I think I'm glad I never developed a lot of attachments.

Of course, conversely my biological father ran off when I was two. I have three "half" brothers, a "half" sister. For a while it was me & mom. She then got married again. It become me. I grew to adulthood. It's me & wife.

So there's that and yes sometimes loneliness can creep in. Learned to invent "friends" to a degree. Also learned visualizing out situations in living, how discussions with people could go. Often leading to me not having need to "reach out".

Then, I do and realize everyone has moved on. I go back inside again, back to working things out for myself. Sometimes think I'm a Mog like the character in the movie Spaceballs. :) "I'm my own best friend." Not sure that's always good or bad. *sighs* It just is, I reckon.

Is it a Touch Screen or a Flip Phone @MyMagicMist ?

Touch screen. It has a nice sturdy case with a belt clip too. That'll be handy for me.

It's a modern Android style phone. I'm just not keen on a phone being more than a phone, or glorified walkie talkie. Don't see much need for all the "extras". A notepad application is a nice feature sure but beyond that, I just get lost.

Hm, I guess I like using email on a phone in a pinch. But yeah, don't really need it. Texting is okay but not something I do too much. An instant messaging app is nice. Me and wife "text" over that, I "text" her dad for rides to and from.

I'm just utilitarian. *shrugs*

I use Keep Notes for a Shopping list but now with an Amazon Echo Dot I just tell Alexa to add it to the shopping list and it goes to my phone~!

Chris got us one of those Google things. Her assistant is in a speaker box. Sometimes I pick on it (the NSA by extension). I ask, "Hey Google, know what I think?"

"I'm sorry I cannot access that data, yet."

That yet at the end kind of startles me. Get a feeling it's there to lull me into a false sense of security as it does know already.

The forecast for monday has just gone from 4.5 inches to 8-9 ....

Funny life lessons taught by television.

From Garfield, anything bad going on is always a Monday.
From various ghost hunting reality shows, the worst creepies are always in the basement.
From Clue, someone gets murdered & nobody has any idea what happened.

I think Mrs. Tuesday killed Mr. Monday in the basement with candlestick disguised as a ghost. I don't know for sure though. Gilligan may botch the whole coconut battery radio.

The forecast I saw before is 5-8 inches. I guess I will be putting the plow on. We will see though I will check the Dopler Radar Maps and determine if I need to.
There is a large storm over the midwest moving NE picking up moisture....

Blame it on Canadia
think good thoughts

afaik, that's the first time I've ever heard the Ramones. Not what I expected!

This isn't one of those Alberta Clipper storms, is it? We already have snow and ice, and it's cold as shit outside.

The storm is coming from the midwest heading ENE picking up moisture and growing, meanwhile frigid air is coming down from canadia and turning this into a nor'easter..... the ramones aint bad for a punk band

your gonna make money......

From looking at the long Range Forecasts this is going to be one of those storms where I have to continuously do a couple of customers to keep the Gas Station and another business open during the storm. So the type of storm they complain about the price but forget how many hours I put in to keep them open for business. It is how much feel it is how many times I made passes and the hours I put in. The church can wait until it is over unless they have a Funeral or Wedding.

Home for the weekend then back to the tundra of MN on Monday. Temps should be reasonable, in the high 20's and low 30's with a chance of snow Wednesday into Thursday which would suck. I'm there to survey electric poles and have to trudge through the snow banks to get to the poles. I keep telling my boss he has this all backwards. He's supposed to send me to warm places in the winter and cooler places in the summer... :giggle:

I'll be home the following week as my first grandbaby is due that week.

Nothing happened. Just thought I shouldn't have posted it in here.

! WAKE UP ! from the MEDIA SPELL !

I didn't have a problem with it although I never got to watch the whole thing. I though maybe a Moderator thought it was too Political. I think you could post in the Gun Threads for sure~! There was no reason to apologize but I thank you for the consideration~!

So I mounted the plow on my truck. Installed the bolts and plates in the frame for the Secondary brackets that I didn't do last time because my hands were freezing. It has to be done with bare hands because you need to feel and my hands won't fit in the chassis with gloves on. 20°F outside so the metal plates were 20°F. Was a absolute bitch but I got her done. Road tested the truck and tested the plow. 4WD is engaged although in Auto Mode. If it is that bad when I leave tomorrow morning I will hit regular 4WD.

We had a little bit of snow during the night last night, but it didn't get much below freezing - 31 degrees, if I remember right. It's turned to rain now, and the last time hubbs looked at about 8 this morning, the temp was 34. We might be dodging a bullet here, but I'll wait a while before I say that for sure.

Hope things aren't too bad for those further north. Please be careful if you have to be out.
