So doing something today it appears I tweaked my back. Getting nasty Sciatic Pain and weakness in my left leg. Fucked up part is the Sciatic Issue has always been the Right Side. Just took two Aleves and going to take a nice HOT Shower. Have to be on the road in 9-10 hours at least. Depends on what I see when I look out the window once the Coffee is on. Never look outside before you made the coffee~! That way you can take it with you in the worst case~!

I didn't have a problem with it although I never got to watch the whole thing. I though maybe a Moderator thought it was too Political. I think you could post in the Gun Threads for sure~! There was no reason to apologize but I thank you for the consideration~!
Thank you ! Oh Oops, I'm going to post it in the gun thread. Didn't have time the first time I was on VU, so you'll be able to watch the rest of the video.

Go here in a bit, 8 AM EST to get blood drawn. Endocrinologist needs it to keep tabs on testosterone level of 300. Give folks an idea, even with lowered testosterone, normal range is 1,500 to 3,000.

My body does not produce GnRH (growth hormone), FrH(?)(Hair growing hormone), testosterone (Masculine estrogen) ... it also doesn't produce estrogen. I get all furry now because I take testosterone which stimulates the growth.

This lack of production comes from a path in my hypothalamus having been blocked since birth, same path the olfactory nerves developed in too. And those did not develop either, ergo no sense of smell.

Fun part of my job as custodian. We got told to smell our bathrooms. "You can tell a clean bathroom by its smell."

No, I can tell a clean bathroom if I go in and clean it, or visually inspect it. Just waiting until it gets brought up bathrooms I clean may have an odor. So far it hasn't, apparently I'm cleaning well enough.

The school board will start calling out for me after 9. I set that up as I'm not available until then, today. Hopefully they'll cal with better lead time than a half hour after the work starts. *chuckles*

Sheesh, I missed it and now I’m curious. With what’s been going on lately, it’s a bit hard to avoid political stuff. Unless you think what’s going on in DC is normal. Or conservatives being harassed is okay.

Love you, Wolfe.:hug: Stay toasty roasty and love to Duke and Emma. :tea:tea:?

This is my current plow truck.

We used to have a farmer on our road who would take his tractor out and plow our road when there was accumulation. I think he must have passed or gotten too old - it's been years since he did that. It sure was nice, though. If we have to wait on VDOT, we could be out here stranded for a week or more, if we get more than four or five inches of snow.

It's good of you to do what you do to help out. I'm sure the same applies there - the State would take forever to get around to everyone, and even then, they aren't going to do parking lots and such. Plus, when the big plows come through, they leave behind about 3 or 4 feet of chunks of nasty snow between people's driveways and the road, so then they REALLY can't get out.

I recall one year me & Christy lived down at mom's. It was oh, maybe 2005 I think. There was that four foot of snow.

At any given me and Christy took to shoveling out mom's driveway. It was short but it was still nearly an all day job. We had gotten finished and clear to the road.

Looked up and a big VDOT plow truck come by. He shoved the driveway shut right back up. He must of seen the looks on our faces. He finished plowing the road, come back and told Christy he wasn't supposed to.

He then plowed the driveway clear again, at the mouth. We thanked him with a thermos of hot coffee. :) That was also the year VA Natl Guard was out checking on folks. I tried flagging them down to help shovel but bah, fools just drove on by.

I had spots in the lots you could see pavement and on the other side 2-3 Feet of Snow~! The wind was nasty and still blowing like stink.

So I had a hard time starting my Snow Blower because I haven't used it in years. Was put away correctly by draining the fuel and Fogging the Engine. Then when I came back from the second round there was another 10 inches of snow~! So start er up and break the Damn Bolt in the Auger~! I put it away and said screw it for now. When I finished clearing Christine's and doing her walks with her Snow Blower I said I can't leave this until tomorrow so I brought a Drop Light and a Torch to the shed to melt the snow off the Auger. Thought I would need to drill or remove a broken bolt but it is a straight thru hole~! Found a bolt and cleared the house. Tomorrow I will be back out early is it stops and clean the lots I already did today.

Finally came in about 7:00 soaked up to my knees and a wet jacket. Got out of my clothes and put on some nice fresh PJ Bottoms and a Tee. Cracked open a Heineken and have some left over Penne and Eggplant Parmigiana from Ciro's for a nice dinner.

That was my Second or Third Visit I am not sure. It is all a white blur right now but I did collect for Half so far~! Still have a good amount of Cash coming and a Check is in the Mail. So worked for 2 days and paid the bills for 2 months. Works for me~! Even though I had to buy Plow Fluid at WHORE Prices during this Storm and need new Plow Headlights. Another couple of Hundred out the door faster then it comes in~!

Called out this AM. Spoke with lady overseeing the call out system yesterday. She explained that like today's call out for 5:45 I could round to next hour so be there by 6:45. Well, had a bit of location trouble this morning, wrong location. Had to call to find out.

So, rounded to 7, worked until 3. Took no breaks, only 15 minute lunch. 2:45-3 I "sailed" with nothing left to do. No one cared, I was left to set doing nothing. They knew I had completed the "routine" list best I could. I had finished the work.

Did not go fast at it but steady. So, that's a $112 day for me.:) Had four such days last two week pay period. We'll see what I get this time. Am enjoying it better since I had a few things explained to me.

"As long as you come in, do your work, no problem. You know what's clean and not. So use common sense. If you don't need to do something, don't. Nobody will second guess and if they do let your Principles know, it'll be handled."

Having the time issue explained too helps. They know it takes some half hour or more to get to sites, it's okay, just round the hours and do the work. If it's a split or just half day, you got 4 hours. Full day is 8.

Working for myself I made about $100 dollars an hour but you must also remember I spent $40 dollars or more on fuel, 2 $12 dollar bottles of Plow Hydraulic Oil and $200 for new plow lights. Still works out to a couple of good days pay. That is not counting labor since I do it myself. Might actually be a loss this go round?

Dealing with taxes though and withholding always made me a bit weary of trying to be self employed. Reckon that would be why you put a CPA on the payroll. And by then it seems to me you're better off working for someone else who can "eat" that overhead cost.

Not saying one cannot work for themselves. I'm sure many do nowadays. If you can swing it, I'm sure too it may just be good income. For me, not been able to see a clear "how to" path.

Although I have at times done the "under the table" contracting work. "What you settle for in pay?" "What you consider fair, no reporting." That way of doing often comes around living in the country when "bosses" are farmers. So does the "take a bushel of beans for painting your fence," method.

So I did some errands and saw 40°F~! Said I am going to wash the truck! Gave it a quick wash and a minor detailing with the windows and vacuuming the carpets. Re-positioned the wiring harnesses for the plow lights so when the new ones come on Saturday I will change them.

Home early. I work steady and tonight only took one fifteen minute break. Yes, I took a few sit down a minute breaks. But I kept at what I was doing steady.

Started at one site, finished up, wife was out on the lot with me some lunch. We sat there maybe fifteen minutes. Then it took us about fifteen to twenty to get to the next site. Fellow there had pinched in on some I needed to do. He was on autopilot.

I was on the other site & tried doing the whole site. A client said another custodian got the other half. Slowly it registered with me. "Hey dummy, hold back. Get only what assigned, go on to next site." So got there and only needed to vacuum, sweep, lock 'er up.

Again, I worked steady. Took no break, just kept at it, got it done. Come out about about 9:15/30. Fellow there told me the "bosses" will still count me doing an eight hour shift, four at site one, four at site two. The work was done. He said consider it a "perk".

I'm just hoping not taking the breaks doesn't cause issue. We'll see.

I know NYS has this Labor Law although it could be Federal Law

Meal and Rest Periods Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Labor Law Section 162 sets forth the required meal periods for employees in New York State. Factory Workers are entitled to a 60-minute lunch break between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00p.m. anda 60-minute meal break at the time midway between the beginning and end of the shift for all shifts of more than six hours starting between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and lasting more than six hours. Non-Factory Workers are entitled to a 30-minute lunch break between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for shifts six hours or longer that extend over that period anda 45-minute meal break at the time midway between the beginning and end of the shift for all shifts of more than six hours starting between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.All Workers are entitled to an additional 20-minute meal break between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. for workdays that extend from before 11:00 a.m. to after 7:00 p.m. Section 162 also allows the Commissioner to permit shorter meal periods upon application by the employer and if the Commissioner believes such modifications are warranted by special circumstances.

Who is covered by Section 162 of the Labor Law?All private and public sector employers and their employees who work in New York State are covered by the law. However, the law contains different requirements for factory workers and non-factory workers.

I never got BREAKS!
i had to pay for my own health care.
over time whats that???
being a boss mean i get paid LAST if ders anything left.
WE HAVE TO CHANGE THESE LAWS TO INCLUDE DA BOSSES TO!

Need a little bit before I face coffee. Stopped & got a beer yesterday evening. Yes, a beer. Silly me wolfed the pint of Coors light.

Wound up just a little more tipsy than I expected. Of course, having just come of having twelve hours "running", can figure a bit of being tired contributed.

I tried building on a Haiku clone. Singe burnt a bit of Kanthal accidentally. Sat giggling at myself and realized it could wait a little. There was a nice mellow goofy feel happening.

Found The Dude movie on Peacock. Cut it on, kicked back in bed and watched it until the Nihilists attacked Dude. After that I apparently woke up half through Stuck in Fresno or something. Wife had brought in our supper.

A little later, got a build on the Haiku clone. It's doing so so for me. Hollered at @Syythe letting him know I was trying it out. He explained that he uses a coil set up a little higher. Lifted the one I got on up a bit more. Seems to help some. :) Still undecided though, will see.

Well reckon I should get coffee. Then set and piddle. Off call today and tomorrow, unless they call Sunday night for Monday. Last week I had roughly four full shifts, this week, thinking I got possibly two. So pay day is looking good at over $600. :)

Coffee reminds me later we'll likely head out to do laundry. Need to get all my And1 sport wear clean. I like wearing it to work as its comfy.

Besides that I'm working as exercise. The sweat gear lets me help walk off the pounds. Got no idea how much exactly I walk but given for most of eight hours I'm up moving, could be safe saying it's a fair bit.

As mentioned I'm trying to avoid taking the breaks. Will be that way unless one of the bosses brings it up. I'm on a good crew with the four schools I've been pitching in on.

Yesterday I still had a little needing done in the cafeteria. My buddy, Brent had come in just after 1. I was slated until 2:30. He fussed that his principle wanted me out at 2.

I knew he was yanking my chain so yanked back a bit. The eldest lunch lady fussed at us. "You boys better not be fighting." "No mam," in unison. "Good, cos I'd whoop ya both." "Yes'm."

Still his point was he had come in and was ready to get at it. I finished up so far with where I was and then went to him. I told him what was left. He grinned, "I got it Ben." I knew with no doubt he did too. I had been at that site the night before for half a shift, done well. Then, was back the next morning.

He asked if I slept on cafeteria floor. We both chuckled. I did the most I could yesterday and the night before because I wanted to do good for him. He does good for me so it's only fair to return the favor. The whole time though he's telling me "Ben, relax. We all help each other, buddy."

Been a while since I've had that from any kind of work outside of home. It feels really good. And I don't get a sense of anyone really competing. Hell, it's custodial work what kind of advancing can there be?

Sure I know there is some, like if you take continuing education for maintenance, HVAC, biological threat mitigations and the like. Still for the core work there's no real ladder climbing. It's more about bettering yourself for the sake of it and getting rewarded for that.

Hoping they work me into the crew at these four schools. Brent seems to have taken a shine to me. He said he asked Col. Mike for a good man on the crew, Mike keeps getting me in. Guess I'm doing okay. :)

Dawned on me pretty hard recently. I'm just a year and few months from being fifty. For the overweight and out of shape it is my body is still seeming thirty at most. *ahem* Of course, it reminds me otherwise at times. I do look young though, part of the KS.

My point is I'll soon be able to get the obligatory 10% off at places for the senior group. *chuckles* Boy oh boy, I've made it to the big times. Interestingly enough, I was not carded for my beer. Hehe. Had to remind the clerk it went in a brown bag.

*shaking my head* Many swore I'd not get past eighteen. I figured not even fifteen myself. Gee willies, I am a going. :)
