Today will be a busy day. Go to Mass. Pack for this weeks trip to MN where it will be -2 tomorrow then warming up to a balmy +18 on Thursday. Do some grandson visiting. And I need to clean and re-wick my OTR (On The Road) setups as well as make sure my juice bottles are full for the trip.

The wife and I did Valentine's dinner last night. We were going to eat at a restaurant, outdoor dining only, but our male cat was able to sneak out on us. He's supposed to be an indoor cat, but he doesn't agree with that. My wife wasn't going to go out with him out so I got our food to go. Anyway, he finally showed up at the back door and decided to grace us with his presence.

Just gave my Truck a Quicky Wash since it hit 32°F and the little bit of sun helped keep the water from freezing. I always hear why not run it thru the car wash. Well 1st off they don't appreciate the plow on the front and I am not paying $35~! Don't take long with the Shammy Mop but damn it was a bit chilly. Wore latex gloves so hands didn't get wet but still cold.

Yay. Why mention it's Monday? Well at least I've three more bags of Dollar Tree coffee & we did some shopping in Spencer after we did laundry Saturday. We spent about $130 there.

Our cart was nearly overflowing with bagged groceries. Spending roughly $75 there gets us a solid half cart full. Yes, we buy some of their "house" brand products. We see not any difference with national, or international name brand items.

Still got plenty of SNAP ebt to use for groceries. We're currently only getting less than $20 monthly & likely we'll soon be put off. No big deal, we're both working now and don't really need. It's nice having but let others who need use it too. That's what it is rightly for.

Need to buy some seeds too, may have her hold back $100 out just for that. Can find some fair deals on seeds. Then, get something going and save seed, *ahem* go underground and swap seeds. Mention that because our local library used to house a seed swap box, no longer does it. The county council decided teaching self sufficiency was not a "good" thing.

Ah yeah, a Monday she a be. Don't know 'bout you chia but I gonna gets me a cup'o Joe.

I went last Friday and spent $90~! Bought 20 Bags of the Breakfast Blend. I guess you liking it huh?

To quote Steve Austin, "Can I get a Hell yeah?"

It's some yummy coffee for the price. :) Besides that I found out three bags can fill up an old plastic Folger's tub/can. Consider you spend nearly $8 for a can & can get a full can for $3. Heck yeah, I'm on it. :) Saves $5 per can & Dollar Tree is just as close as Kroger's in town.

Presently, I got space in another plastic box for about 5 bags at any time. So at most I might buy 8 at a time. Eventually, though I figure I will be buying it in bulk to keep ahead.

Could possibly "make space" here but there again that would be "rocking a boat". Know her sister would pitch a fit. Bad enough me, and wife are already using more space in my wife's stand up deep freeze. That was such a horrible blow to her sister who had it chock full of stuff they never intended to use at all.

Some are screwy that way. They can talk, talk, and talk all day but say nothing at all. They also then hoard useless crap simply because of the "ooooh gimmie" flaw in people.

Finding as I grow older I'm becoming more like my Pap. When I do speak you(general case) best listen and be sure you listen.

Yes, I do the same and my pantry shelf looks like the Dollar Tree since I buy so many. Because I buy 20 at a time they started stocking more~!

Imagined scene of store manager to stocking person.

"That rat bastage! He came in here and waltzed out with a case of coffee again! How dare someone strip our stock! We'll show him. Mark on your order sheet double your case order."

"Um, okay."

"Oh no, wait! There's a disturbance in the Dollar Tree Farce! He's got a buddy in WV doing it too! Run for the hills! Oh, erm no, um ... erm ... run for the coasts!"

At which point I say we declare war. You know if they get the coasts they'll be looking to use a pincer move and surround us. They'll eventually try price gouging by way of having the monopoly on good & cheap coffee. So, war it'll need to be. *chuckling*

S'all good though. I'll get the coal miners on strike. That'll curb their leccy(electricity) use. We'll bleed them out of power. Muhahaha!!!

I actually told the Manager they need to stock more. I should order it online by the case and have it shipped to the store for pickup. With all the people I told to try it I am lucky they have any for me~!

*chuckles* I get that way with work. I end up working myself out of work. I go steady but doing that makes it seem I'm clipping along fast. So, yes I work "faster" than most. But it's not that I'm doing bad quality, just that I keep going and "git 'er done". That's my only gear, "git 'er done".

See how much I keep in stock?

View attachment 178181

Now I see I need some staples in the shelf paper~!

You ought to put two top side up, one bottom up. You could compress three in the space of two then. But then again that's probably how they're case packed which leaves stuff like coffee stale. Might think compression would keep it fresh, oddly it negates that. *befuddled look* Sugar does the same, corn starch (also if corn starch gets compressed too much it risks combusting), flour.

gee golly no, eod never taught me nuttin bout common household items one can use for banging on.

Finally had the Oil Burner Company here to do a Service which hasn't been done in over a year due to the Pandemic. Had a problem a month ago which they did a service call for but not a cleaning. Nice guy did a great job so I am draining the boiler again today. I did it before he came but it got rusty as soon as it started running.

22 F -6 C here. Power out from 11 PM last night until 1 PM today.

Kept pissing around trying to get a fire going. Doing it all correctly, Fire just isn't "eating" the oak fuel. Finally walked away from it. It'll burn or not.

Went to father-in-laws had a Ron and coffee. It was Sheetz coffee, um, erm. Yep, think I'll go get a cup of mine.

That’s true, I forgot. How have you been? The weather is cwazy lately! Hope you’re not buried in snow or freezing. Love you, Wolfe. Hugs to Duke and Emma. Wubwub.
I've been well, thank you . How are you and are you staying warm?
Not buried but it's been freezing cold. Last night it dropped down to -23 and that's not windchill....brrrrr. Emmas paws are getting to cold in the snow, I had to pick her and bring her inside last night. I have paw mittens but I'm unable to find them :xD: . Thankfully, the temps won't be as cold tonight, but still cold enough. Love you, Rhianne

I’ve heard people complaining about weird plastic-y snow. I haven’t seen it here, but the weather is strange enough without it!!

Yikes, you need to get Emma little doggie boots! She’s too little. It’s funny, I was looking at my photos on my iPad and I came across a pic of Emma in a pink wooly hat!

Oh, I wanted to tell you about BardsFM. It’s on YT. I think you’ll like it. It’s hard to explain. Please (x3) go check it out! 🤍🤍

So far the heat is okay here the last few days. I guess he’s giving it to us regularly now.

Love you! Hugs to you and Emma and Duke.

Yeah, I've heard the same thing...weird. It's been way too cold for me to take the time to check out the snow. I go out feed the flying pigs...birdies, and whatever else that needs to be done and go back inside.
That's what I meant to say...paw boots not paw mittens, lol  . I have some just unable to find them...I'll have to buy some again  . Are you talking about my moms little ankle biter? Emma hasn't worn a hat. If you're able to, please post the pic I'd like to see it.
Thanks ! I'll check it out. That's great ! It's about time he allowed you to have heat this yr.
Love you, Sis. Emma and Duke said thank you by giving me Eskimo kisses.

I was standing on the Cement under the awning on the back Patio~! I have a path shoveled to the shed so I can get the Charcoal and Lighter Fluid along with a path to the compost bin which is a block of Ice.

Very good idea.

We are supposed to have another ice storm starting tonight. Our power and telephone came back on last night after having been off since Saturday morning. Ice is a bitch down here - the trees just don't handle it well and we live too far out in the country. Sometimes there's just a glaze of ice all over everything, and if the light doesn't hit it just right, you don't even realize it's there. That's when I fall and bust my own ass.

I have to go out in the worst of the weather to go plowing and been doing it so many years I am used to it. When we had the first storm I plowed a path and got out of my truck to inspect something. The wet slop under the snow was so slick I slid right down the hill even with my Caterpillar Boots~! Was hilarious trying to get back to my truck from like 15-20 feet away~!

Hilarious in hindsight, but I bet it wasn't hilarious at the time! I slid down the hill in my front yard once and just about didn't get back up. Had to get my son to slide a shovel down to me so I could jab it into the ice and pull myself up, about two feet at a time. There was almost a foot of solid ice on the ground then.

At first I tried to walk back on the slick wet snow until I said to myself.............. WTF are you doing? So I walked in the snow.

Well, just had a 4 minute doctor appointment via phone. Two minutes with a nurse, two with a doctor. Got told my blood work looked alright, a refill on prescription. Sure beats 45 minutes travel up, sit and wait a bit, 45 minutes home. Got the appointment on the phone due to weather/travel concerns.

Yay.

Shameless plug for a terrific product, for this coffee-loving crowd:

View attachment 178234

Only bad thing is, it won't fit in my car's cupholder. I hardly drive any more, so doesn't make much difference to me.
100% agreed great cup I bought this one so it would fit my cup holders lol.20210217_093706.jpg
