No work for the school next week. Deer season/Thanksgiving break comes in.
Soon putting in resignation there. Want to get at least a week into new job before resigning. Although, who knows? May do so earlier.

Worked at a school last night. Got threatened by some punk kid. Some wrestling event was in the building I was to clean. Walked toward the back of the building, where no wrestling was happening.

Kid got in my face. "You're wrestling?"

"No." My tone may have been a bit disdainful, will admit.

"You're grumpy." I thought "gee kid, come in and try doing your job where folks purposely try to make it, so you cannot, have kids ask you stupid shit, and you be all peaches and cream."

Still no excuse for him to step to me from behind like he was going to swing. Heard his little girly friend tell him to leave me alone, I was a custodian. His other friend found the side door.

"Oh well, we found it, no, thanks to you grumpy." I kept on walking. Had he actually swung, his last mistake and likely mine too. No point to that kind of shit environment to work in.

Kids of today are so different from when we were kids
Most don't have the sense to walk and talk at the same time ( I was gonna say something much more derogitive;) but this is my day to be civil :giggle:

When you meet the parents some of these kids have, you understand why they're messed up. Kids are different, but then, the world is different, too. I feel really sad for a lot of today's kids. They learn, not only what they are deliberately taught, but also what they see.

And that is their parents fault which many are our ages.

I wouldn't resign, just either don't take any jobs or report as on Vacation or Sabbatical that way you still have it as a source of income if the new job doesn't work out or you get laid off for some reason. Just my thinking ahead.

This isn't only 1 hospital. It is a network of hospitals, medical care facilities. Have been told, once on full time, transferring from one to another is done easily. They also rotate workers to where needed if the worker chooses to work in the rotation pool. There is very good incentive provided to do that as well.

Laid off? That is very unlikely. Even if you get downsized from one hospital, you can work in another. They are using Highmark (which is the new Blue Cross Blue Shield) for benefits handling. They have excellent insurance, tuition programs, a 401 B retirement package via Fidelity.

They NEED and WANT people working! Got told the hospital network is a privately held non-profit. Part of that is from the school of WV University using it as a teaching and learning environment. Another part is from an unnamed private benefactor. I asked who and got told no one knew as they were indeed quite private and unnamed. Suspect possibly the Catholic Church, but don't know for sure.

The long and short of it? There's Money like water available going to work for this hospital and its network. Come in, do your assigned work, go home and get paid direct deposit. Got a medical issue? Let us take care of you and get you back to work. As far as the type of people and work environment? It is very near military level professionalism.

Do not foresee any issues in going to work with them. The roughest thing will be needing to learn bus schedules, getting on a public bus and off at the hospital. Work my shift, let wife pick me up, as buses likely do not run after midnight. Even may find a co-worker willing to offer a ride along. I can part with $10 a week for a seat, no problem.

Hey porch folks! Just got back from a quick trip to Ohio to celebrate son's 35th birthday and see niece play Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. DW's parents aren't fairing as well as we hoped but they are getting by. SIL came to their house today and helped them a bit and gave DW an update tonight. I also made the trip without taking my Vape stuff (totally shocking wife). I'm down so low on Nic now that it wasn't difficult. Did I miss it... heck yeah, because I enjoy it! It is good to be at the point where I don't get withdrawals though.

On another side note, my employee insurance decided to change the questions now so they are treating anyone who uses an e-cig/vape the same as a tobacco smoker and charging higher rates for coverage. Total bunch of horse :poop:.

Healthcare professionals, up this end of the hollow, are treating vaping the same as any other tobacco. Noticing a bit of difference, though. They are asking you how much nicotine per day you use. For me, it's 18 mg/ml at about 5 ml daily, so about 90 mg daily.

Absorption rate is supposedly about 50%, so it works out to ~45 mg. The biggest complaint I got from family doc last visit was "watch your bad fats, young pup." My triglycerides were up, she said. Too much deep-fried crickets, I bet. *chuckles*

Ain't that the TRUTH~!
Had a very small, single celled tumor excised off my left side a bit ago. It's been roughly two weeks, maybe three. Anyway, the doctor's resident used plenty of sutures, as the doctor directed. He also cauterized the wound and backfilled it with, kid you not, Super Glue.

The glue is "curing" out on my skin as the wound heals. Feels ready to come off. I know the wound will not bleed much, if any. Still afraid to ask wife to get tweezer and peel it off. She gets all squeamish over the smallest things. The wound is healed, can feel that. Glue is becoming a slight irritant for stretching.

And Super Glue was put into use for battlefield wounds during, 'Nam. I was born a year before the war ended "officially" in 1973. My uncle had two tours "in country".
