So today I was taking it easy but went over to Ace Hardware and picked up a 4 way splitter to make watering easier. Repaired an old hoes I had laying around and now have to see if I want to sink some pipping in the ground so I can just turn valves instead of moving one hose.

Worked another 8 hrs on daylight today. Nearly seems I'm full time just as a substitute. Everyone from seven different schools specifically is calling for me when there's call offs.

Then again, I'm pretty much one of the very few that works. Did not see one of my favorite principles today. I showed up at 5:45 am. He didn't come in until way later. Never saw him today.

His finance secretary was there though. She and I get on well. It seems if he needs me, he sends her to chase me down. Hoping I've not angered the vice principle. She seems to be the type that would crack if she smiled. I don't really talk to her much.

Think I may in fact intimidate her & I do not mean to, just me being me. I'm introverted but can be social, working so. Sometimes that isn't what people expect. Not arrogant but humbly confident fits the outgoing side of me. People can often have difficulty with that.

Oh well, is what is.

Welp, no gardening today. Saw the first redbreasted robin today, supposed to be a sign of spring. The robin looked as confused about it as I did. Hauled ass and covered the strawberries in loose hay along with the fava beans. Carried the peach trees out of the garden and into the shed. What was supposed to be some scattered showers this afternoon/evening and possible snow turned into snow this afternoon. Around 2-3".

I am waiting to be able to buy my Tomato plants~!
Well the past few years have just gone to wally world because the prices are decent, it's close and usually doing other shopping. Problem is wally world doesn't see fit to put seeds out in time to start seedlings. And the seedlings they have started already they don't put out until later. Tried a semi local feed/farm store, they have all kinds of plants and veggies for sale already. Have had for a month or longer. More realistic timing. Debated on getting tomatoes and things this past week, saw the suggestion of freezing temps and light chance of snow (thanks weather clowns). Figured it'd be best to wait for it to pass and see what happened. Glad I did.

Another older lady I know is facing similar weather in Arkansas, she said she's got 32 tomato plants in the ground already. Seems this happened to her last year, I was feeling behind the curve and she had such an early start. Then a cold snap hit and it didn't do well for a good number of her plants. I think her ocra and few other things got hit hard and she had to replant.

I've still got some replacement strawberries coming from the batch where they undercounted the plants and they were half dead in transit so long. Been babying them but some were too far gone even planting them the day they arrived. Not sure when these are going to be delivered, hopefully not in too bad of shape with the freezing weather.

Not sure what places you have around or if you've checked regular nurseries or have any farm stores. Maybe you get yours from a nursery to begin with. If any tractor supply or rural king or other type farm stores nearby maybe check those. Could be your region too, dunno.

Your yard looks great with the new mulch btw! Mine's not near that nice or well kept/groomed. Looks good.

Doing well here. Enjoyed a cup of Joe, still enjoying some vaping. Difficult saying what I'll do today. Hope everyone has a good 'un. Y'all run 'er slow.

So far I have accomplished a whole lot. Had a phone interview at 9AM. Was outside watering to find out the Honda had a Dead Battery and have it on charge to check why. Can't believe how expensive batteries are these days. Watering in the back yard was a breeze because of my new valve~!

Well, not gotten outside yet. We had a dusting of snow this morning.

I may have today off because I didn't nix an unavailable day until last evening. Thought I had an all day appointment today.

It was a doctor visit. That itself wasn't all day but to Parkersburg and back, well, yes that shoots the day.

Due to the snow and general sense of having worked 8 days of 8 hr shifts running around schools, I'm tired, not too concerned to go trim weeds today. I might could go get our new bed frame and mattress from her dad's porch, use the tractor to bring it down to the barn.

Again, not too concerned to do that. Again, snow and tired the factors. Besides we'll have to do set up on Saturday. Not like there's a grave need. Rather wait until then too, bring it right to the house instead of staging in the barn. That'll be less handling.

So yeah, difficult saying what I'll do today. I still may get called out for a night shift. Dunno, don't care. All the same to me either way. *shrugs*

Putting the battery charger on it started raining here~! Supposed to rain hard too so maybe I should have checked the weather before I put the sprinklers on this morning~!
Ain't that the way, ...

And yes, I know simply because I'm tired ought to naught stop me doing stuff around home. Then too, I'm learning it and others in my family have known a while, it takes some doing for me to tire out. So everyone is understanding and lets me be to a point. But yes, if there is/was/were/existed a pressing need I'd be first up to go do. Which can get scary sometimes.

*shaking my head* And thirty years ago I worked 20 hour shifts, no thought at all of it. Be doing X then go get on Y, Z, A,B,C until finally someone "in charge" saw and said "go get downtime."

Yeah, I have to go to the Super Market and I will be checking the charge during the day. If it starts pouring I will remove the charger for safeties sake but it is water resistant.

After changing the battery and taking the car for a short test ride I prepared our dinner for this evening. Tired of the same old, same old so I made Eggplant Parmesan with fried Eggplant. Baked Eggplant is good but just tastes better fried~! Ziti on the side and cheating with RAO's jarred sauce~! :vino:

Today marks twenty one years me and my wife been married. We're both working today. Saturday we need to set up a new bed. Not exactly sure how we'll find time, or gumption for anything intimate, romantic.

Know what I'd like to do but that isn't really tenable. Might be nice to take a week off, and visit the national park where we went for our honeymoon. Cabin rental alone is a fortune, tack on some meals and we'd owe them our supposed grandchildren.

Besides there's no time to "get away" like that. We're pushing so we can get our place. Think she finally understands we cannot keep paying for her family's living. Helping out is okay but there comes a point when you cannot do it any more. We got lives to live too.

Then consider they tossed a perfectly good refrigerator that cost over $2,000 out. The only thing wrong with it, it needed cleaned. So instead of doing that toss it and buy one costing $400 more. Yes, the "old" one wasn't working for needing cleaned. *smh & sighing*

Also my sister in law, her husband will do the same regarding vehicles. They'll run them into the ground with no upkeep, no thought of it. Then, "daddy buy me a new one". Guess who bails out "daddy". Gee, no, really?

Meanwhile I'm play acting the "grumbling" husband for my wife to get her oil changed. She knows it needs done. She's just not had time to get it in and done. She will though and soon, I know she keeps her vehicles up. Her pawpaw would kick her ass if not.

She asked me when she was supposed to have had time. I jokingly told her, "well, tell one of your six men you're running you need an oil change so they can f**k off for a day." She laughed and told me to f**k off. *grin* The oil still went unchanged but we.got a bit of humor from it.

When we do get our place, I'll laugh when her sister has to quit her job. They've not thought once about getting her a car. We'll be elsewhere and it may not always suit for my wife to come here to get her. Oh well, not our monkey but ... *sighs* No, you really can't make this shit up.

So yay, happy anniversary to us.

She just told me on her way out to work. "Hey, this year I can take an actual paid vacation. I'd like to go see your moms. We can stay in New Market." We'll get there, too. She and my mom get going on about crochet, yarn and all kinds of stuff.

Told her I could pick on my youngest brother. She laughed and said that would provably go the other way. *chuckles*

I work 12 hour shifts. Just finished working 6 in a row. Needed a couple days off to recover. Hope everyone has been great!!
Hope you'll be able to Relax some and Enjoy your time off !

My Guy use to work them hours, it sucked, but having three days off was nice...could actually get stuff done.
I remember one morning... He didn't let me know a friend of ours was stopping by. I was snooozzzzing hard, our dog let me know someone was at the front door. He tried to open the door, but of course it was locked. I opened the door with a gun pointed at him. He was terrified ! I was terrified and nervous, but looked before shooting him ! Plus, I know that the person has to be in the home before shooting them. All was good, though, we both could've wet ourselves, glad neither one of us did :teehee:
Needless to say...He never did that again :teehee: and my Guy let me know the next time when someone was going to be by at 6 in the morning.

! WAKE UP ! from the MEDIA SPELL !

Feel bad regarding this. Then, what do you do? We're aiming on affording our own place to live. Reckon there's time later to make up special days. Least a person hopes.

And unfortunately she worked day shift. I pulled night shift. Saw one another maybe a few hours in passing. We're both dragging tired. Not any way to feel a special day. We had no real time to enjoy.

C'est la vie.

Got the peach trees back outside, they weren't digging no light in the shed. Drug another 30 cu ft of composted manure to the garden, filled the 2x5ft planter, topped the eggplant pots and filled in the holes dug out for the melons. The replacement strawberries showed up, solid count this time. Still packaged like shit, even less dirt this time. Soaked them and got them into the planter.

Had some serious fixing to do on the strawberry planter. Despite my best efforts, maybe due to settling/drying in a few places I dug with a trowel to plant the new plants the dirt totally caved in. Wasn't packed solid to the central watering pipe I guess. So gathered more dirt and packed up under the angled tier shelves so as not to disturb some of the plants already in there. Think I got it this time. We'll see. Once the dirt fell away I could see visible voids up underneath.

Supposed to have rain today and tomorrow I think, will see how much we get here. Hopefully the snow is finally behind us. Uncovered the fava beans, they were looking a little wilted between the chill and no sun for a couple days. Still need to drag at least another wheelbarrow of dirt in to top off the tomato bed and other pots.

Had shitty flavor in my aromamizer v3 even though I rewicked yesterday. Tore it all down, washed it out. Normally I have better luck with coils away from airflow but realized on the dual coil deck I might have had them too far inward. Angled the coils out a bit more, much much better.

@MyMagicMist I'm sorry I missed your anniversary, but Happy Belated Anniversary to you and Mrs. Mist

We just had an anniversary, too, on the 19th. 47 years. When I said to my husband, how long's it been now? 47 years...yeah, 47....he looked at me like I had three heads and said, "it's been forever." Yeah, damn right it has.

We celebrated by sharing a pack of Reese's cups and spending the whole day in the house together. It was very nearly as exciting as the way you and your wife spent your anniversary.

I'm happy to hear that you're getting some work hours again. You fuss about it sometimes, but there was a long time that you were so worried you'd not be able to find a job, and I'm happy for you that you found one. I get frustrated with my job, too, but then I have to make myself remember the alternative. I have a really good work situation compared to a lot of folks.

I don't know how much time you've paid into Social Security, and you're a lot younger than me, but in September I'll be at full retirement age. I've worked most of my life, beginning when I was 15, and my SS benefit is going to be nothing to sneeze at. If you don't already have enough time behind you, try to work long enough to get some Social Security one of these days - you'll be glad you did.

Please don't take this as criticism - it's not. It's just the Mama in me coming out, from 43 years of being the Mama and the Grandma. I can't help myself sometimes. :)

I'm vaping my little black Wismec Luxotic BF this morning, so I'd have thought of you even if I hadn't read that you'd had an anniversary.

Playing a little hooky. Scheduled for working at a high school that had a half day today. I only had two hours of work. The schedule was for 8 hours.

Go up to library to talk to Randy. Ask him what I'm doing for 6 hours. He suggests I cut out with him and Roy ay 5p, They had come in at 11a and were scheduled to 7p.

"Paper says you're here til 10, Ben. C'mon you're done your work. Go home." So I did.
