Yes, if you can run Unix you can run Linux. It can almost work in reverse too. There's a little difference which "hangs" you up but not much. It's all mostly C at it's core and recalling that helps. C is the grandfather of Java which runs Android operating systems properly, and that Java runs on Linux/Unix servers.Well actually it's Telcom style (Like Astrix, Mintel, Satcom, DALpak) software but the Linux/Unix combo run that.
Yep Astrix = AT&T, MinTel = MCI, SatCom = Verzon, DALpak = Sprint.
Also 99% quite factually, of the Inter-Web's servers are some form of Linux/Unix. And IBM now owns Red Hat Linux though it is still Red Hat Linux. My former boyfriend wanted me to try learning COBOL. I did try but I kept getting lost, it seemed to lack basic functionality to me. Then again I'm not used to functioning with databases, spreadsheets.
And no him suggesting COBOL isn't what made him a former boyfriend. He found another gentleman near him that decided to move in when he got a cold. I still love my former boyfriend and am happy he's got someone else too.
He needs that. I hate kind of being stuck in a way in my life. But my former boyfriend would never ask me to leave my wife, and I wouldn't anyway.
Sometimes I like a wife, other times I like a husband, still other times I tell them both to get lost. *chuckles* So yes, as I've said I'm the only stranger I know. *grin*
