That was the other one that came to mind, though I wasn't sure, haven't seen a lot of them. One of my grandmothers had one of those when I was very young (pre-school), but he was very old and rather cranky, so they tried to keep him away from a little girl's curious fingers.

It's interesting how pets can grasp our moods -- you know cats are only affectionate on THEIR schedule, but our Tuxie always seems to know when petting her would make me feel better. She's absolutely not a lap kitty at all, but does the weaving back and forth under my chair, so I can pet both sides equally.
