Not really tight. such a relative term it makes it difficult. mine pulls through but pulls through with resistance

so when you normally put it through does it kind grab the cotton and fluff the edges a little bit. I think mine is not right. I don't have very much resistance.

Yeah but after I fluff it I go all bonsai tree on it and clip it till the ends are a little narrow and thin and dip the edges in.

Further back a few pages is a link to mikes vapes video that does a really good job at showing a wicking tutorial. I keep the ends very thin but the above the deck pretty fluffy and full

just want to say thanks. I took the tank off and fluff out the cotton I had in there and lifted the cotton up a little bit out of the holes and I can get about a 4-5 second draw at 38W. my strawberry just came out in my custard on the exhale. its the little things that can make a difference :)

how do you all wick your crius. im trying to get it done. I get dry hits if I take a longer than 2 second hit and this is at 36 W
Too much wick in the juice channels? Check my post on page 56 of the "Post your builds" thread.

Anyone doing .2oHm builds on it yet how does it handle at higher Watts? I am looking for a tank that can rock what I put my RDA's through (normally 80+Watts) I know it's all about the build but some other tanks I have used can't do it and I have to build for 50 max like my over complicated Cthulhu v2 not saying it's a bad tank it does what it does I just want something a little more simplified and beefy for my traveling setup!

So you, what is the Crius capable of. Has plenty of air, huge juice ports, but only so much space. Say using SS, dual coil, single strand.... how many watts can you put through yours. So far now with a couple days, great vape. I'm not unsatisfied. But so far on my 26g 316, about 50w is all I can do with out burning it. On my TC, I'm at around 500F. But I found the limit... preheat plus 550 right on the edge of burning. Which means wicking. Just trying to get a feel for possibilities.

While the vape is good, it can't match my Crown .25 coils. And it doesn't have to. But that is what I'm comparing to. The Cruis puts out a lot, and the flavor is great. Just not as much as the crown with how I vape. Just curious how close I can get to that. In regular terms, I do Crown .25 coils around 60-65w. Capable of more, but that is enough for me.

I have tried to compare the Crius to crown with no luck. The crown coils have so much cotton that allows higher wattages but the Crius could not possibly hold that much without muted flavor. I have a dual 24 g .19 in mine now. Wicked with rayon at 50 watts and she kicks ass. The Vape quality is great but so much different than the crown. Both are awesome in my book but very different type of hit. Honestly my Crius is my daily work horse now. On top of my vct mini at 490 degrees in ss mode is pure satisfaction.

Cool, so I'm pretty much there. Which again, is great. It's just the Crown is a fire hose. Not necessary. I have some 24g coming and 27. I might be able to get a lot of coil in, but I won't be able to get enough wick.

I've been using mine now for a couple days. 1 I noticed not quite the output of Crown. Covered... I have confidence my wick is right. No flooding. Holes open all the time. Top fill is nice, but I've spaced a couple times now and moved around and spilled some. Just need to stop spacing out before closing.

Last, I'm digging TC even more. With the Crown, I just let it rip without a problem. But with the Crius, there is a limit. And just walking temp up, I barely get burnt. It's just real slight. I know that's it. But no giant lung full of cotton smoke. It's really nice.

I haven't had any issues with 26g Kanthal at 50 watts so far (6 wraps 2.4mm ID, .37ohms), anything really above that though I start to get the sizzle effect going on. Which is fine since I don't really care to push above the 50 watts anyways. I still have very little to complain about with this tank, I pulled the wicks last night and then I forgot to turn the juice channel control thing back on and got a nice nasty cotton hit ugh . I can see this being a problem while having cocktails but I will have to learn the hard way at least 3 more times before I begin to remember!

You could get a MT-RTA by Indulgence. However, the wicking can be a bit tricky too.

I finally found a good use for my retired billows V2. I replaced the glass drip tip from the Crius with the billows drip tip and the flavor is even better. Of course that is because I broke the glass Crius drip tip lolol

Yes!!! Lol, I did this right off the bat with one of my billow2 drip tips. I was afraid I was going to break that glass one so I put that in the drawer right from the get go!

So what drip tips do fit? Because I hate clear tips. The Crown fits, but not great. Plus it's a huge bore. Was trying to stay like original.

As far as I can tell the v3 fits all my 510s. I think the original one didnt fit all of them but they fixed that.

If you the latest version with larger post holes or velocity deck pretty much most standard tips will fit. I just put my billows v2 tip on mine yesterday and it's fabulous.

I have been looking at the trinta copa drip tip. I hear very good things about it but it is 22.00 which seems crazy for a drip tip but if it is spectacular then ??

I don't have one but apparently the shape or bore may help to improve flavor but I'm not sure myself

I love the glass drip tip that came with my Crius V3. If you want the trinity copa clone I believe there's one on FT :)

Here is what may in fact be an over simplified way of looking at things. In general I think shorter, thinner drip tips, chimney, etc will produce more flavor because the Vape is more concentrated. Thicker, longer, etc produce more clouds. I'm sure there are exceptions, but in general that's what I find. Sort of why the mini versions of attys seem to be a tad better on the flavor front.

Cheers,
Steve
