How many MTL vapors do we have here?

Totally MtL tootle puffer here. A semi-odd duck, because I use RDAs; the Achilles is the best tight-draw RDA EVER, and i wish to hell they were still available.

Special mention, the makers of the Pulse Genny also made a Pulse Dripper:

Was a very tall RDA, but the chamber size was incredibly small. The slot you see cut open in the pic was actually for your posts. Airflow could be configured from all four open down to just one.

Great MTL dripper, very leak resistant and awesome flavor. It did have 2 drawbacks though.

1.) knowing where to position your coil so it doesn't come into contact with the top cap and 2.) knowing how to position the top cap straight so your posts don't come into contact with the center slot.

The Squape RS shelved my beloved Kayfun Lite Plus and KF4, so much easier to work on (except for filling if you don't use a needle tip bottle or syringe) and I think a much more consistent and flavorful vape. (super easy to use mesh too)

29boltt.jpg

(RS on a MikroEngineering 18500)

The Squape X seems to be an improvement over the Squape R if you want more room to build larger/fancier coils or want more airflow, but I think for simple single coil, MTL vaping, the RS is a much better pick.

Thx for the tip! The Squape isn't one I've ever tried, but I really need something similar to the KFL+ in terms of airflow, but with more flavor. I think I'll get a Squape R and check it out! THX!

Positioning the top cap would be a real pain for me, because I absolutely detest o-ringed top caps -- that's one of the big pluses for me of both the Achilles and Magma, the threaded caps. I';d like the Magma a lot better if it didn't leak though; I might try out the Magma Reborn at some point.

I know the new SQuapeX is coming out (today maybe?). Are the SQuapes any good as far as flavor and MTL hits? I just never liked the look of the metal cage and steered clear of them just because of the looks.

Definitely can m2l, the R and R(s) anyway. IIRC, the new Squape is top fill, which should be a big improvement. My R was impeccably machined, so I would expect the new X will be as well.

Me too, plus I heard there maybe a mini launched next. I'm hoping for a streamline, all glass no metal cage then might pull the trigger. Ok, I sound a bit picky

for 165usd, that's not picky at all.
at least with kayfun after market parts are everywhere

I think $165 in todays "market" is still acceptable if China products don't float your boat. Here is a Svoemesto authorized and modified Kayfun selling for 230USD, and despite the additional airflow, still remains a solid MTL tank.

ive spent, 185 on an erlkoenigin, 170 on an aqua v2, 170 on a kayfun 4 and 160 on a hurricane... that's just in the past 8 months on mouth to lung tanks
i've spent 35 on a billow v2, 35 on a billow v3, 30 on a crius, and 60 on monstrer kayfun.

I gotta be honest, I'm not a metal worker, nor a specialist in machining metal, as a lay person who just vapes, I don't see any advantage in workmanship, not enough to justify the drastic price difference.
so, as for country of origin.. I don't care, I just want well made vape gear at a reasonable price. The 100+ world for a tank is officially no longer something I can justify.

Given the speed at which new and "improved " tanks are spewed on the consumers these days, they better include a 5 gallon drum of your favorite, custom made juice for that $150 -$200 authentic atomizer price tag.

How do you folks feel about the Theorem atty? I get mixed opinions. Some people (the Boreas gang) say it's crap, no real input as : airflow is too restricted.... one person saying the overall impression is the theorem was underwhelming, not much clouds or flavor. I'm confused! Should I get it or not? I already have more paper weights than I care for.

Ok, so I'm getting that in single coil configuration the airflow is pretty restricted ,in dual coil, it is pretty open. I'm gonna bite the bullet and get it. I'll be back. .....

I was sold a counterfeit Kayfun4 as an authentic. It looked super real even down to the packaging and only a few clues it was fake. I got my money back, was able to actually keep it and then I bought an authentic Kayfun4. HUGE difference in the machining. HUGE!

If an atty has a lot of moving parts, I'd have to go with the authentic.

I love that look. Gonna check it out. I'd love to convert my KF4 to this look without buying anything but the tank. Not sure if that's possible but...worth a try

I have a diamond tank for mine enroute from Germany. I had the steam tubers diamond tank but it shattred. this is similar with a flush mount driptip adapter. if it looks good, ill be happy.
I would love a gem, but I cant bring myself to spend mark bugs money

I just got my first authentic Chalice III in the mail a few days ago. Even used, it was the one and only one for sale I've ever seen that was under a $100 and was prepared to be disappointed in its authenticity. Man---lets just say my Chalice III clone is no longer my favorite atty.

I'd love to try a Gem also, but dam--- $150+ is a lot of bones to experiment with

Yes, you can get just the different sized glass attachments. Imagine if you couldn't and you dropped your 230 tank on the ground lol

The Boreas gang? I bought a Theorem :) It's not here yet though.

"The Boreas gang" was used for lack of a better description of the bunch of trouble makers that got me to order the Boreas, a decision I don't regret it any way. Boreas is a great tank, but not what you would call a mtl rta. The theorem is trying to bridge the rta/genesis gap. It does a good job of it, but again, not great for mtl. With the airflow restricted, the vapor is very low and flavor is diminished. When you open the airflow, vapor is good, flavor is very good but you're dl vaping. So, for dl,you're better off with the alleria or Boreas, for mtl.....wait for the merlin.

Do you have the HCigar Fodi? That may be your ticket for genny/RTA hybrid that can mtl.

I do have an opposing example on that though  The Kabuki clones on FT function and produce exactly the same flavor and chug along as quickly as the authentics. The last I looked, Mt. Baker was selling their "special edition" for $89. FT has two versions, one for $10 and one for $15. I bought both. The one and only difference I can find after using them for well over a month is the fact that the pin on the bottom of the FT version takes a flat head screwdriver, the authentic uses an allen wrench.

I've had a clone that was better than my authentic. Sad, but true.

I've heard that many times but can't think of any examples off the top of my head or have experience with that personally.

As a rule, I would agree that authentic is the way to go unless you have very credible advice to the contrary.

You know, I'm a hard core MTL and am loving on the Boreas mucho.

All I'm really missing is the throat hit, but the flavor is so good I'm not minding that much after the first couple of days.

It doesn't mind that I like to chain vape either, no dry hits ever.

I'm running mine (don't laugh) with a double coil, 2.2 ohms each, for a 1.1 ohm vape.

In fact, I bought a second one to play with. The first one is seeing too much real-time use to go messing with it, lol.

It's not the US. Doing a memorial for my father. Going to spread his ashes where he was born. Northern England.

I haven't forgotten about that box. Need to make it bigger I think.
OOh I'm in the same boat....got to spread my Dad's ashes.

I can think of two examples.
I have an infinite stingrayx clone and an authentic stingrayxti.
the detail in the emblem is more pronounced on the clone and the magnentic switch is smoother and stringer.
also I had a hcigar magma clone and authentic, the threading on the clone was smoother and the postholes larger.

the clone v authentic debate in general is a little trite at this point.

also with the bukkake, the pin stays in. I've red multiple reports of santa zen's pins falling out

I have a Fallen Angel (mech), which is a clone of the (original) Electric Angel.... but from everything I've read, the Fallen Angel is worlds better than that original Electric Angel; thicker, stronger stainless, better machining, less "wobble" on the switch. I don't know how it compares to later, updated versions of the Electric Angel; maybe they improved those over the original, inspired by the quality of the clone. But I'm really glad I got the Fallen Angel, for $40, rather than the Electric Angel for $100-ish.

MTL only here... dedicated squonker, but looking at getting a cheap, pocketable set-up for the few occasions that I end up at a bar or a show and don't want to take one of my nice mods.
I've only tried one tank in the last couple of years since transitioning from the mini protank to RDAs (I think it was a Lemo? thing leaked like crazy) so I have no idea what's out there... and from this thread it looks like maybe not so much?
I'm looking for something small, decent flavor, doesn't leak, cheap, and preferably with a way to rebuild (not necessary, but would be nice) and of course, MTL capable. I've pretty much settled on the Pico for the mod, but it looks like maybe the Melo 3 that comes with the kit doesn't work well for MTL?

The Eleaf GS isn't an RTA, but has good flavor, looks good on small mods, very economical and I managed to rebuilt one of the heads. The UD Goblin Mini RTA looks great on small mods, excellent flavor, there's also a top fill v2 out now. I just like small tanks for small mods.
