Definitely don't have Chinese woods....... Asmodus are put together in China, but are hand picked Stabwood from California.......What about Chinese Stabwood
And most stabwoods are processed in Florida specially Yihi SL tubes ........ Yihi does that too for example the Yihi SL class Stabwood........ Some batches are made in Florida...... And sold in specialty shops like " Breathe Vapelounge" in Wyandotte, Michigan....

Not had issues with Ultroner 'yet'. They do a lot of collabs and most are pretty solid. This mod is well built, has a mosfet and seems solid.
Ultroners quality is suberb...... Look at that new one that Gorgon loves...... And look at The Minikin Kodama........as long is is a good piece of wood they are all beautiful.....

I was figuring all my Asmodus and Yihi mods are mass produced in China. Maybe some day I’ll be able to afford a better one.

Ultroner mini side fire. And it is cheap. Under 100 US. Takes an 18350. Mech with mosfet and the mosfet is an Utroner chip. However, the Cthulhu mini mosfet also fits (you want their newest chip - old one was flawed). A mosfet does not make a mech mod regulated just safer to use. As long as you build above .8 ohms you are fine. Very neat, small mod. I hate pods. So a carry around little pocket friendly stab 18350 is my style.

I fall every day....... We fall off or parapet walls unto roofs, we slip on loose gravel and roll into swales, we trip in attics, we step on screws and nails, we get stabbed by cactus.....

We get somehow injured daily, pinched fingers and shots to the shin are a daily occurrence..... Me and Dale are always getting hurt......
When I fell I was fully clothed....... I just went with serious high blood glucose and Vomiting and diarrhea for 3 or 4 days...... Man I felt I was ready to die...... Dizzy and simply sick..... Didn't eat for days just drinking water and iodine........

Manny, I did not mean about nationality. I meant exactly what you said but I would not worry. Yes, It is a place of "interest" to Customs but they Xray it and/or open it. So they know it is nothing bad. Some of the best wood comes from Africa and Asia. Borneo has great trees only there. Brazil in the rain forest has great wood only there. However an American Lemon tree makes for amazing wood. Very hard to work with. I have seen top end guitars with Lemon but never a Mod.Madagascar has great wood only there. I am talking dark woods like Ebony, blood wood, rosewood. Also "fruit wood" which the Lemon would fall under. Although exotic fruits only indigenous to Africa. I never see anything Like this stuff in Mods. Sometimes in $$$ guitars. I guess for a Mod it is too expensive and labor intensive, again expensive. Although if they could do the Top Hat's.... I am positive the going rate on yours, like mine is $15,000 so you stole that. I would never sell it! You said what? $1,700? That is now your most expensive Mod in outlay and true value? Honestly that is at least a lot more coveted than the Java. Especially with low serial but he did not make many to begin with. Yeah, I would not use the Top Hat too much. Mine must have Thousands of pieces because it is thoroughly congruent little honeycomb shapes. He hand placed every one. Any of them should be worth $15,000. We both cashed in Manny. Although, speaking for myself I will never sell it. I imagine you won't either.
Glad you kept the Duke. It is a great Mod. Also worth 3x what both of us paid. You never know what a Mod will be worth. It is more like a lottery than an investment. It is no investment IMO. I just do not like VA's big buttons. Otherwise they are fantastic.

I finally got around to deciding what to use as a finish for the Minikin V2. A friend gave me a jug of water based hardwood floor refinisher so I decided to give it a try. I put on 3 coats allowing them to dry 24 hours in between and micro meshing w 1200 as well.
I’m pretty happy with how it came out.
