Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day... The celebration of sweets, food, and alcohol is commencing, and it will go on for the next several months.
Saturday was Halloween, it was a full moon - perfect for trick or treating. Paxton had a blast tricking and treating in our small close-knit neighborhood. Everyone was super creative about how they handed out treats this year; tables were set up in driveways, someone had a stick-garden of candy bars, and even one lady dressed as a witch handed out candy via a broomstick.
It was awesome, and all the kids went home with bags full of treats.
Way too many treats for their little bodies to consume....
By Sunday night, I was already getting messages about how to control a sugar binge (from parents, of course!)
Stuffing yourself with sugar may not seem like that big of a deal, especially since Halloween only comes once every year!
But sugar and sweets impact your body in more complex ways than you might realize. In fact, almost every part of your body suffers the repercussions.
