Hi Jimi,

Gut health is becoming increasingly more popular in the media, especially now during the pandemic.

You’ve probably come across so much advice on ensuring you have a healthy microbiome, particularly its relationship with your immune system.

But how much can you trust what you read online?

Today, let’s cut through the noise and find out what one of the leading gut microbiome experts recommends.
“The main fact here is that about 70% of immune cells are located in the gut or migrate through the gut on their developmental cycle. So immune cells that reach the brain, the heart, or the liver, have been in the gut and they have been influenced by factors in the gut and the microbes that can interact with them."
— Dr. Emeran Mayer
This week on The Goodness Lover Podcast, we are excited to speak with Dr. Emeran Mayer—a medical doctor, a gastroenterologist, a leading research scientist in his field, and the bestselling author of The Mind-Gut Connection and The Gut-Immune Connection.

Watch this interview to discover:

  • Dr. Mayer’s long journey to gut-body medicine
  • How the immune system is located primarily in the gut
  • How your microbes can regulate sickness severity
  • The connection between the food we eat and the health of our gut (straightforward, attainable tips that you can start today)
  • The gut’s role in this pandemic (and how your microbiome can help protect your physical and mental health)
  • The research behind the proper way to eat for a diverse gut microbiome
  • The connection between our emotions and the gut as an emotional regulation
And so much more!

Check out this episode to learn about the link between managing your lifestyle and diet to build a diverse and rich microbiome for a better immune system.

Hi Jimi,
Studies tell us that people who eat yogurt tend to have lower rates of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. And yogurt can nurture good bacteria in your gut — which reduces inflammation and increases your body’s immune health.
But most commercial yogurts are made with cow’s milk (which carries a bunch of ethical and health concerns), and are loaded up with added sugars.
The good news is that a new day is dawning in the yogurt world, as ever-more nutritious plant-based and sugar-free options come onto the marketplace.
And the even better news is that it’s remarkably easy, and affordable, to make your own.
Get the whole story about plant-based yogurts — and some great recipes — here.
Yours for nourishing foods,
Ocean Robbins
P.S. Yogurt is popular. But which kinds are best? Are there any dangerous ingredients to look out for? And how can you make your own? Here’s what you need to know about plant-based yogurts.

Hi Jimi,
Do you or someone you love drink high protein smoothies?
If you do, you may want to know about this:

Nearly 100% of protein powders contain these toxic heavy metals.
They’re the same heavy metals that researchers have found in 21 of the most popular snack foods and cereal brands.
And the same ones that I talk about in this brand NEW video:
Watch it here

If you are feeling run down, low on energy or just extra tired lately I suggest you watch the video above.
It’s only 2 minutes long.
In the video I discuss which heavy metals slow your metabolism, increase fatigue and cause many of the common health problems that people are facing today.
I give examples of ways these toxins can get into your body...
And I direct you to an online assessment that can tell you whether or not you’ve been exposed to these metals.
If you suspect you’re experiencing heavy metal symptoms, go watch this new video now (and take the quick assessment I recommend at the end).
Like I said, this is a brand new video that I just dropped recently.
Go check it out to find out how you can STOP heavy metal poisoning and fatigue!

5 Most Common Inherited Heart Disorders

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Family medical history has always been an important piece of information cardiologists use to examine patients. It’s not news that, if your parents or siblings had or have heart disease, you are more likely to develop it as well.

What is news is all that’s being learned about the ways heredity affects heart health and other disease processes as well. These are the five most common inherited heart disorders.

Special: Doctor: 4 Signs Your Heart Is Quietly Failing

Hypercholesterolemia (Inherited High Cholesterol) People with familial hypercholesterolemia have a genetic mutation on chromosome number 19, which prevents their body from clearing LDL cholesterol. Unless very severe, most people with this disorder can be successfully treated with statins.

Familial Dilated Cardiomyopathy This occurs when the heart becomes stretched and enlarged, causing it to weaken, and can lead to heart failure.

Familial Atrial Fibrillation is believed inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern, although in rare cases it may be associated with more than one gene. Whether inherited or not, atrial fibrillation increases the risk of stroke, as well as sudden cardiac death, so its diagnosis and management are very important.

Familial Heart Valve Disease The heart has four cardiac valves working to ensure proper blood flow through the chambers. With aging, heart valves can become stiffened or leaky, but valve disease can also be inherited.

Long QT Syndrome (LQTS) is a rare malfunction in the way the heart cells recharge after producing electricity. It can lead to a dangerous heartbeat irregularity that can cause fainting or even sudden death.

Dear Jimi
Around the world, 100 million people are suffering with pain, discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, bloating… yes, we’re talking about bathroom stuff.
There’s nothing to be ashamed of.
These aren’t just little annoyances. They’re painful symptoms that can haunt you for life and warning signs of what could be ahead: autoimmune disorders, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, heart disease and even cancer.
It all starts in the gut, but very few of us are talking about the realities of living with irritable bowel syndrome, small intestine bacterial overgrowth and leaky gut.
IBS can be a confusing diagnosis — it’s been termed a diagnosis of exclusion, which basically means: “We don’t know what’s wrong with you.”
The Digestion SOS Summit, hosted by Shivan Sarna can help you solve the mystery of chronic digestive problems, especially when conventional medicine has trouble finding their root causes.
There are 35-40 diseases that could cause these exact same symptoms as IBS:
  • Weight gain
  • Depression
  • Brain fog
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Bloating
  • And more
Is it SIBO or IBS? What’s the difference?
Shivan Sarna, has interviewed the biggest thought leaders in gut health to create The Digestion SOS Summit. More than 60 experts are stepping forward to share this powerful information — groundbreaking medical doctors, alternative practitioners and naturopaths, researchers, dieticians, nutritionists and people like you who have been on the gut-health journey themselves. They’ll be taking a real look at the worldwide epidemic of IBS, leaky gut and SIBO.
You’ll learn what these conditions are, what causes them, how we can test for them and treat them, and most importantly, practical, useful action steps you can take for your gut health right now!
They’re here to share their wisdom and hope with you June 22-29. We'll see you there.

To better health,
The GreenMedInfo Team
P.S. When you register for The Digestion SOS Summit, you’ll also unlock early-access interviews, complimentary guides and helpful eBooks about living your most resilient life!

Next week, tens of thousands will learn from the expert wisdom so important to overcoming digestive issues like IBS, SIBO and leaky gut!

As if dealing with daily pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea and food intolerances isn’t bad enough… IBS, SIBO or leaky gut can be a warning sign and even trigger serious illness. If your gut is unhealthy, your immune system will be compromised. This event is FREE and it starts on Monday!

During this 9-episode, documentary-style series about the latest research on gut conditions, you’ll find solutions that work — from conventional to alternative — so you can heal your gut and get real relief!

Dear Jimi,

Fifty-year old Tracy is an avid fitness instructor with a secret she’s been wrestling with since she was a toddler: she loves sugar with a passion. And, like many of us, Tracy is trying to stop her sugar habit, but is struggling to let it go.

In this week’s episode of The Psychology of Eating Podcast with Marc David, Marc explores our emotional attachments to foods like sugar, and how these attachments are built into our natural biology and psychology.

When we form strong emotional attachments to certain foods at a young age, it can be very challenging to separate the feelings of well-being and comfort we derive from these foods. Finding other ways to self-soothe beyond food is key for all of us looking to transform our relationship with food and body.

And, at the same time, it’s worth asking oneself if abstaining from sugar is truly our most important goal.

As Marc shares with Tracy, “abstinence, when it comes to sugar, is not the gold standard of success.”

If we want to turn the tide with sugar, finding a balanced approach to eating -- but more importantly, a life well-lived and full of sweetness –- is how you do it.

Tune in to today’s episode on our YouTube channel!

Enjoy and have a great Tuesday,

Team IPE

Hey Jimi,

High blood pressure (also known as hypertension) affects almost 108 million people in the United States...

And most people don’t even know they have it!

That’s almost half of all American adults living with this condition known as the “silent killer.

Unfortunately, most people living with diabetes have some degree of insulin resistance which is a driving factor for elevated blood pressure.

Hypertension increases your risk for coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, Alzheimer’s disease, and peripheral artery disease.

For this reason, early detection and treatment are critical to prevent future complications.

The good news is that the correct dietary changes can lead to quick reductions in blood pressure within days, which continue to improve over time with sustained intervention.

We’ll help you understand the most popular and powerful superfoods and show you FOUR of them that must be included in your daily diet.

We’ll be revealing this life-saving information in a FREE webinar this Thursday June 17
mail
In this webinar you’ll discover:
  • Which foods cause high blood pressure and how to avoid them
  • The untold side effects of hypertension medications
  • The best diet to increase blood flow
  • How to use four powerful superfoods as an alternative to pharmaceutical medication
  • How to use your lifestyle to decrease or completely eliminate your medication needs

Safe Sex for Folks Over 65

By Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Mike Roizen, MDs

In 1970, when Stephen Stills recorded "Love the One You're With," it became a rallying cry for the hippie "free love" movement. It was more myth than fact, but the lyric helped sell a lot of records.

Well, if that's your era, and today you're still sexually active, you're still part of a movement, according to the National Poll on Healthy Aging. More than 1,000 people ages 65 to 80 were polled, and nearly three-quarters said they had a romantic partner, and 54 percent of them were sexually active.

Special: 3 'Keys' to Male Performance and Stamina

They claim that they're not shy about it, either: 62 percent said if they were having problems with their sexual health, they would talk to their primary care provider. Unfortunately, only 17 percent had.

That's a gap that's putting many older folks at risk.

Sexually transmitted diseases are at an all-time high among the elderly. From 2007 to 2012, the incidence of syphilis among seniors increased by 52 percent; chlamydia increased by 32 percent. And according to AARP, every year since then has seen about a 20 percent jump in the incidence of STDs.

The reason? Divorce rates are up, while I am a spammer ban me dysfunction medications are easily available, and doctors don't spend enough time talking with seniors about safe sex.

It's time to get proactive. Ask your partner(s) about their sexual health, and get tested yourself. Medicare now offers free STD screenings for seniors.

And use condoms — many seniors don't. Keep it safe to love the one you're with.

Jimi, I’ve got an update on the lawsuit filed by 117workers at the Houston Methodist Hospital…

And it’s not good.

On June 12, a federal judge dismissed the suit… saying that firing employees who don’t want to be v@cc!nated doesn’t qualify as wrongful termination.

That leaves employees who choose not to get the C0VlD shot in danger of being fired… and they face a June 21 deadline where the hospital has said all unv@cc!nated employees will be terminated.

Currently, 178 employees at Houston Methodist are suspended without pay for failing to comply with the v@cc!nation requirement.

The lawyer who represents the employees has filed an appeal and says he will take the matter all the way to the Supreme Court if need be.

So where does this leave the rest of us?

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has said that firing an employee for refusing the v@cc!ne is not violating the law, although companies have to offer “reasonable accommodations” to those who can’t be v@cc!nated because of religion, disability, or due to pregnancy.

In essence, it’s very possible to be fired from your job because you don’t want to take an experimental v@cc!ne that’s not approved by the FDA and has been shown to have a growing list of side effects.

Let’s hope that the Houston Methodist lawsuit does indeed progress to the Supreme Court…

And that it ends up providing legal precedence that protects employees from being forced to choose between accepting an unwanted medical procedure and providing for their families.

To your health, happiness, and freedom,

The VRCE Team

Your Daily Motivation

Wednesday

June-16-2021

Feelings of hopelessness make you believe that your circumstances won’t improve, and there's no point in trying.

Perhaps you are assuming the worst-case scenario that may occur in the future. Maybe it will happen, maybe it won't. Don't ruin the present moment or undermine your ability to make things better.

Focus on this very moment. Take things one day at a time, and stay patient. Trust that you will be fine. Just because your thoughts tell you that positive change isn’t possible, that doesn’t make it true.

The keto diet is known as a proven way to lose fat, maintain or gain muscle, and increase energy.

But, there might be a catch…

As you flip your metabolism on its head, burning ketones and fat instead of glucose from carbohydrates, there’s a chance you might come down with … the dreaded keto flu.

The keto flu can hit 1-3 weeks into your transition into ketosis. And frankly, it’s why so many people give up on the benefits of keto before they even begin.

Even though keto flu symptoms like headaches, aches and pains, and brain fog are always temporary, they’re no less uncomfortable!

But, what if you could stave off nasty keto flu symptoms and get straight to the benefits?

Well, it turns out you can. With a little help, of course.

With just a few simple supplements, you can bust through your transition into ketosis, start shedding weight, and lowering inflammation on day 1.

Not only that, you can use these tricks daily to optimize ketosis and get the body and the energy you crave...

Sugar

When I was first diagnosed with cancer, one of the first things that was drilled into me was to cut out and avoid all sugar. I thought this would be fairly easy as I am not really that into sweets. I much preferred more savory items and didn't really care for candy. Well... to my surprise, it turns out that SUGAR IS HIDDEN IN EVERYTHING!!!

It was much harder to avoid and cut out sugar than I thought. Everywhere I looked, it seemed like people were cramming sugar into food and in many cases for no good reason... so I thought. Turns out, that all you have to do to get people addicted to your product is to add sugar.

"Sugar addiction is one of the most common types of food addiction—all the more insidious because, often, we don't even know it is there. Many studies have shown that sugar is one of the most palatable and addictive foods and, with this knowledge, food manufacturers often use excessive amounts of it in foods we don’t even consider to be sweet." Elizabeth Hartney, BSc., MSc., MA, PhD Very Well Mind

So, can sugar really be that bad? When we’re talking about added sugar, the answer is 100% YES! Although the sugar industry has fought to change your opinion about it, we now know today that sugar impacts just about every organ system in the body. And its not good.

If you or a loved one are dealing with a health issue, it may be time to address one of the most important issues that may be slowing or impeding your recovery. A sugar addiction.

Today, most U.S. adults consume about 22 teaspoons of added sugars a day.

The American Heart Association recommends:
  • No more than 6 teaspoons a day for most women
  • No more than 9 teaspoons day for most men
Take that with a grain of salt too. Personally, even that is too much for me. As you know I prefer whole foods and it is mainly the processed foods that have much of this extra sugar.
Here are just a few of the negative impacts that sugar can have on your body.
  • Cancer
  • Lowered Immune Response
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic Inflammation
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Fatty Liver
  • Acne
  • Weight Gain
  • and MUCH MORE!
The list of issues that excess sugar can cause is long and the more we learn the worse it looks.

Plus, like I mentioned before they hide it in everything. Here is a list of things to look out for on packaging to help you identify hidden sugars.
  • Anhydrous dextrose
  • Brown sugar
  • Confectioner’s powdered sugar
  • Corn syrup
  • Corn syrup solids
  • Dextrose
  • Fructose
  • High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS)
  • Invert sugar
  • Lactose
  • Malt syrup
  • Maltose
  • Molasses
  • Nectars (for example, peach or pear nectar)
  • Pancake syrup
  • Raw sugar
  • Sucrose
  • Sugar
  • White granulated sugar
Don't be shy to stand in the grocery aisle and read every label. I do.

Knowing what goes in your mouth is imperative to your healing.

Next week, I am going to go in depth into some of my favorite sugar alternatives like stevia, monk fruit and allulose.

I will also talk about the problems with some popular artificial sweeteners.
Until next time! Make good choices and stay healthy! 😀
