Shortened life span for children?

It’s always been a running joke how the older generation finds the young ‘uns a bit different than them.

What should you be eating? 😋

When we were young we were taught that if we ate veggies, fruit, meat, and some form of carbs, we’d grow up to be healthy, happy individuals.

Now I look back, and I wish it would be as easy as eating broccoli and carrots Jim!

I can’t remember how many times I needed to check my food cheatsheet to see if there was something on the restaurant menu that fit my diet…

Or call my doctor to ask if eating specific food would make me fall off the wagon…

Variety of Medications Treat Blood Pressure

The Scottish doctor Sir James Black invented the first modern blood pressure drug, the beta blocker propranolol, for which he received the Nobel Prize in 1988. Since that discovery, a vast arsenal of blood pressure medications has been developed. That might make you think that blood pressure should be easy to manage, but it’s not.

High blood pressure requires very close management. But all too often, doctors don’t have the time or the inclination. Here’s a list of the type of medications used to treat the condition.

Special: Little-Known Immune Link to Cancer, Heart Disease, Autism

Diuretics are used most often in combination with other drugs as the second line of defense for treatment of hypertension.

ACE inhibitors relax blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) are a class of drugs that block the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that tightens blood vessels. This enables blood to flow more easily, lowering blood pressure.

Beta-blockers. Chemicals that your body releases, such as adrenalin, speed up the heart and raise blood pressure. Beta blockers, as their name implies, block these messages, slowing the heartbeat and lowering blood pressure.

Calcium channel blockers (CCBs) interfere with the movement of calcium through specialized channels in the cell membranes of cardiac and vascular smooth muscles. These drugs affect the squeezing of your heart and cause your blood vessels to relax.

Alpha-blockers and alpha-beta adrenergic blockers stop special receptor cells in the muscles of your blood vessels from receiving messages from chemicals called catecholamines that narrow the arteries, hiking blood pressure.

Vasodilators. These drugs work directly on the walls of the arteries, relaxing them and allowing the blood to flow more easily.

Timing is important. Taking at least one blood pressure medication at bedtime results in better control and also cuts heart attack and stroke risk by a third, a study in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology found.

Reducing Damage From Heart Disease

Studies have shown hesperidin to be very useful for protecting the heart against the effects of prolonged high blood pressure, which if left untreated can cause the heart to enlarge and eventually fail.

The compound also protects against atrial fibrillation, an arrhythmia in which the heart beats rapidly and with incredible irregularity.

Special: Top Cardiologist Reveals Secret for a Healthy Heart

Atrial fibrillation is a major cause of death in people with heart disease. By selectively increasing nitric oxide levels within the blood vessels supplying the heart, hesperidin can reduce the damaging effects of heart attacks and chronic heart disease.

What this compound is doing is increasing blood flow to the heart muscle, especially the microcirculation supplied by the smallest blood vessels, called arterioles.

This collateral blood supply can mean the difference between a fatal heart attack or severe heart damage, and survival with a good outcome. The increased blood flow also prevents scarring of the heart muscle (a process called remodeling) that can cause congestive heart failure and arrhythmias.

That’s why I use this exact Baking Soda and Apple Cider Vinegar solution to clean my produce.

Watching with joyful excitement the convoy on Ottowa. The Canadian press is doing its best to downplay the massive size of the movement. People are swamping the roads and overpasses to cheer and wave the truckers on. 30-40 miles of solid truck lines in/out of various cities as it keeps building and moving forward. Where they stop for rest, restaurants are bringing them food. The "Laughing Guy" did a hilarious piece. It's in Spanish. He points out that Trudeau is hiding out even though his Covid test was negative, wonders why Trudeau picked this time to tell the truth instead of lying and saying he tested positive, that Trudeau said he was quarantining because he was around someone who had it, even though everybody knows you can't catch Covid from a blowup sex doll. Hahahahaha!!!! :bliss::bliss:

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Your gran is right the peel has the most for you, always eat the peel but definitely wash it first especially if it is commercially grown cause the greed has them spraying over and over with cancer giving pesticides and herbicides

When you have a fitness buddy, both you and your buddy can encourage each other to reach your goals. This keeps you motivated long term.

We all need someone to tell us that they’re proud of us from time to time. It feels really good when your friend tells you they can start to see those sculped abs peeking out.

2. Push Yourself Harder

You may notice your exercise buddy's legs, glutes or abs and think “I wish I looked like that.” They’re going to gaze upon your toned arms and think the same. Far from being a bad thing, a little friendly competition pushes you to reach your goals more quickly.

One study from Kansas State University found that people who worked out with a partner who was fitter than them exercised up to 200% longer and harder than someone working out alone. That’s almost triple the calories burned!

3. Have More Fun

The main reason I love having a workout buddy is that it’s more fun. Going to the gym with a friend is like spending time together at a coffee shop, except with tank tops and fitness watches. You can laugh, joke around, talk about the weather or gossip (gasp!) — all while lifting weights or cycling.

4. Stick To Your Exercise Commitment

You know your buddy is counting on you. This gives you another reason to push yourself. It’s a lot harder to hit the snooze button in the morning when you know a friend is waiting for you at the park.

5. Get Better Results

A workout buddy can improve your exercise performance and results. The other person can see things you can’t. They can correct positioning errors and help you avoid hurting yourself.

A classic example is pushups. From your point of view, you’re acing them! That’s when your workout buddy tells you your butt is jutting out and you’re not actually doing a pushup. With some good-natured nudging, you’re going to burn way more calories.

6. Watch Time Fly

When you exercise alone, your mind is completely focused on the burn. You feel all the aches, you count every sit-up and you have way too much free time to think. It’s so boring!

Things are different when you hang out with your workout buddy. Those 30–45 minutes zip by and you have a blast.

7. Mix Business and Pleasure

Couples can enjoy an added benefit when working out together. Some studies suggest that all the sweating and adrenaline and closeness can lead to more romance. Whether it’s just a quick smooch or something a little more playful, this relaxing time together is good for your heart on many levels.

The best workout buddy is someone positive that makes you feel comfortable and happy. You can tell you made the right choice if you look forward to your sessions together.
