The Theory of "Relational Gravity"

At the beginning of the pandemic, when we were told to avoid seeing anyone outside of our nuclear household, people panicked. Some don’t have nuclear households… Some live alone… Some aren’t friends with their roommates… Some rely heavily on the social and emotional support they’re fed from their stronger relationships, but don’t live with those people.

As time moved forward and it was clear the virus would be sticking around, scientists in charge allowed us gatherings of up to 10 people, and suggested we consider carefully which friends made the cut into our inner circles.

That could have been based on any number of things – physical proximity, friendship longevity, lifestyle alignment, immediate family relations, socioeconomic similarities, commensurate social distancing styles, or other considerations.

For a lot of people, that was a tough decision. Some took it more seriously than others, even making sure that the people in their inner circles chose their inner circles with the same care and scrutiny.

But it certainly forced a lot of people to weigh and measure their relationships in a way that adults don’t regularly do. After a certain age, we don’t give our friendships regular check-ups to take their temperatures.

Most of them just… coast forever, and we don’t think about the precious energy we allow to flow into stale, toxic, or draining friendships.

Which affects us more than we realize, mainly because of relational gravity.
image

What Does Relational Gravity Mean?

You may be familiar with the expression “you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

That’s the heart of the theory of relational gravity as it relates to our social lives.

Put another way, via Dr. David McClelland of Harvard University, the people you’re around the most “determined as much as 95 percent of your success or failure in life.”

Or maybe a little less stringent, “it’s not what you know, but who you know that counts.”

Of all the reasons to be discerning about your friendships and there are many, the concept that our friendships build an orbit around us, controlling the pushes and pulls of our lives, holds the most water.

But let’s not think of our friendships as tools for getting ahead in life, or fast-track tickets to success. Frankly, “success” and “failure” aren’t granular enough to warrant an orbit shift as severe as friendship culling.

Instead, think about where you’re dissatisfied with yourself.

How you react, how you support, how you contribute. How you spend your time, how often you learn new things, how brave or afraid you are when you stand on the precipice of something unfamiliar.
image
Now think about the five people you spend the most time with.

You Can Only Get So Far Alone

We know that everything in life is easier, faster, and stronger with teamwork. And that’s how you really should be looking at your inner circle – as your teammates.

Do your teammates reflect on themselves as critically as you just did?
Do they audit their own behavior and motives regularly? Do they build support for you into their lives? Do they spend their time wisely enough that you aren’t reluctant to grow yourself for fear of leaving them behind?

They’re tough questions – none of us are omniscient, and none of us has the full picture of anyone’s lives no matter how well we know them.

But that shouldn’t stop you from coming to conclusions based on two empirical pieces of evidence: how they make you feel about your own life, and how you watch them run their own.

You want your team members to share common goals with you, so that “winning” looks similar enough to everyone involved. Without that shared identity, it can be easy to remain in an orbit that doesn’t center around what you want your life to look like.

What’s more, it isn’t necessary for you to cruelly sever relationships or grandstand about your newly-discovered incompatibility – the fear of that confrontation keeps people locked in undeserving relationships for much longer than they should be there.

A gradual easing of time given, coupled with an increased investment in the friendships that do have traits in common with the person you’d like to become, will do perfectly well.

Extra points if you’re not only considering what might be currently bringing you down, but what could eventually lift you up – invest in friendships with people you admire.

Do you have friends you mostly drink with, but who you want to become consumes less alcohol? Do you have friends who prefer to engage in toxic and consuming romantic relationships, but who you want to become prefers stability and support? Do you have friends who aren’t interested in expanding their knowledge and skill set, but who you want to become is someone curious and forward-thinking?

You’ll only get to where you want to go if you’ve got the right teammates.

And not every friendship is created that way.

While we still can’t engage in the world socially the way we once did, reflect on who you’ve got on your team – and if “winning” looks anything to them like it looks to you.

Hi Jimi,
We face a global epidemic of chronic illness. And one sneaky disease is playing a major role in the increasing spread — Lyme disease!
Lyme disease can cause these deceptive symptoms:
  • Digestive and abdominal pain
  • Food allergies
  • Hair loss
  • Fatigue
  • Brain/neurological issues
  • Skin conditions
  • Heart issues
According to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Lyme disease produces approximately 30,000 new cases each year in the United States alone. But the actual number of cases is thought to be more than 10 times higher.
Why?
Because thousands of cases go undiagnosed, misdiagnosed or untreated.
That's why we need to learn to recognize the symptoms of Lyme, and arm ourselves with resources to fight the disease and stay healthy.
==> Download the FREE guide, Don't Get Deceived by Lyme Disease and Its Sneaky Symptoms!
When you unlock this gift, you’ll also save a seat for the free, online Chronic Lyme Disease Summit hosted by my friend Dr. Jay Davidson. It's taking place on July 27 – August 2, 2020.
This event includes over 35 experts teaching you how to rebuild your life when you get to the root cause of your symptoms of chronic disease!
XO,
Bridgit

We really don’t know when sickness will hit us.

But we do know that we can protect ourselves the best way we can.

Dear Jimi
We live in a time and age where it is has become increasingly difficult
to obtain information on natural treatments, especially when it comes to the most feared and deadly diseases like cancer.
This is why I'm excited to announce the upcoming documentary ANSWER TO CANCER, wherein I am a featured speaker, and dozens of experts on the topic discuss cancer concepts and treatment approaches that simply do not receive mainstream attention, or if they do, are lambasted or outright suppressed.

Cancer is a topic I have spent the last decade focusing immense energy on providing alternative information on, with presently almost 10,000 studies available to view on my GreenMedInfo Cancer database alone. It's also makes up the greatest portion of my book REGENERATE, which you can find in Chapter 4.
I can tell you that I am to be a proud participant in this series, as I know it will educate and empower the many thousands who watch it.

Mild High Cholesterol Damages Heart Later

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Younger people with slightly elevated cholesterol may think they have plenty of years ahead before they need to worry about it, but a study shows that they are wrong.

People at age 55 who've lived with 11 to 20 years of high cholesterol showed double the risk of heart disease compared to people that age with only one to 10 years of high cholesterol — quadruple the risk of people who had low cholesterol levels, researchers reported in the journal Circulation.

Using data from the Framingham Heart Study, one of the country’s largest ongoing research projects, scientists looked at 1,478 adults from the study who had not developed heart disease by age 55, and then calculated the length of time each person had experienced high cholesterol by that age.

Special: The 'Facts' About Cholesterol Are Wrong

They defined high cholesterol as about 130 mg/dL of "bad" LDL cholesterol, a level that is considered the low end of end of "borderline high."

They followed these adults for 20 years and learned that a person’s long-term exposure to such cholesterol directly affected their heart disease risk years later and found for every 10 years a person has borderline-elevated cholesterol between the ages of 35 and 55, their risk of heart disease increased by nearly 40%.

Lifestyle changes — better diet in particular — can lower a person’s cholesterol level and this study shows that the earlier you do this, the better.

YOUR MEDICINE IS IN THE ENERGY BEHIND YOUR ACTIONS MORE THAN THE ACTIONS THEMSELVES.

Hey Jimi

A friend and I were talking this week and he said something that really stuck “Work smarter, not harder”.

I absolutely love this because it resonates with I teach and practice which is aligning instead of hustling.

It’s so easy in our culture to get caught up in all the busy work. Feeling like more is better and that you can’t create your desired results without juggling 10 balls and getting burnt out along the way.

But, that doesn’t have to be your reality.

You can choose something completely different.

The intention and energy behind your actions is equally, if not more, important than the actions themselves.

Here’s why….

If you are eating the cleanest diet in the world, super strict about your protocol, and doing everything “right” but in the process you feel like a victim, are pissed you can’t eat pizza and feel stressed from the rigidity….you’re going to have limited results.

Versus, I see time and time again with my clients that when we run labs and are able to create a bio-indvidual plan supports their body needs and they don’t need to go on a more restrictive protocol than what’s needed AND they feel excited about the process…..they get great results.

Healing your gut, optimizing hormones and reducing your inflammation doesn’t need to be this hard process you go through or something you hate doing.

You can actually enjoy it!

It’s definitely more enjoyable (ie smarter) when you have the information and labs to clearly define what action steps you need to take.

But even transforming the way that you viewing your process can completely life changing.

Energy matters.

Your thoughts matter.

Your emotions matter.

If you aren’t addressing the inner work (YIN) while addressing symptoms with protocols/diet (YANG), then you are only getting half way there.

You are more than a physical form made of muscles, bones, and a nervous system…

You are an energetic spirit in physical form.

Body, mind and spirit must be addressed to create the transformation you are desiring.

Hey Jimi,
Did you know that over the past decade, the incidence of type 1 diabetes has increased by 23%?
It’s a scary statistic, but similar to other autoimmune conditions, type 1 diabetes is on the rise.
Type 1 diabetes is a serious condition, and can dramatically increase your risk for other chronic diseases in the long term if your blood glucose remains uncontrolled…
Especially if you’re insulin resistant.
And to make matters worse, insulin resistance affects more than 90% of the type 1 population.
We recently wrote an action-packed scientific article about these issues that we think you’ll enjoy.

You might have already posted something about it and I didn't see it. Have you heard of Chinen salt? It's a pink salt like Himalayan salt. It's been reported that it's suppose to help lower blood sugar, blood pressure and a couple/few other things (can't recall  )
If, you have heard of it, do you know if it is Himalayan salt?
If, it isn't Himalayan salt and you do know about it....do you know where to purchase some?

I’ve never heard of it. I use the Himalayan in small amounts. I’ve never heard it lowered blood sugar, but supposedly it’s got a lot of minerals. Check out the Health Ranger Store site. Mike Adams wouldn’t sell anything that isn’t okay, imho.

New Studies Clarify What Drugs Help, Hurt for COVID-19

This study is bashing HCQ, which is used in the EU for corona. The MSM is going along with the CDC story that it’s harmful. Meanwhile the studies they did with HCQ used 4-5x the dose they’ve been using with good results.

It's the Chinen salt that may lower blood sugar and pressure. I just started using the Himalayan salt, like two or three months ago. Our Doc Jimi suggested it 'cause my blood pressure was low and had been for a while. It's helped :) and thank you Doc @Jimi
I'll check it out, thank you

Are You Noticing These Issues with Your Mid-Summer Harvest?

What are these little holes? In the leaves? And… Why does a flying cloud of white dust erupt from the bunch every time you water it?

Most amateur gardeners aren’t trained horticulturists. And when the pandemic began, lock-down was mandated, and grocery stores were the scariest part of our lives, many people across the country began their victory gardens, doe-eye and optimistic with visions of Emersonian self-sufficiency.

As we waddle through the mid-July humidity, many spring plants are ready to be harvested. But some of them may not have performed the way you imagined.

The garden bed may seem like dirt, seeds, roots, stalks, and flowers. But in reality, it’s a micro universe. An ecosystem. Its own thriving, active biome.

And everything in its environment affects it – air quality, soil nutrients, seed ages, pollinator population, and more.

The doldrums of July and early August can affect your veggies and suck the hope and vigor right out of you.

Maybe weeds are choking your vining plants. Maybe your eggplants are forming, but the growing stops there. Maybe everything is green and growing, but none of the vegetables are popping up.
image

There are some easy remedies and tips to help you keep your vegetable garden in tip-top shape – and if it’s too late to fix, don’t worry! Mid-summer planting for fall harvest is right around the corner.

Let’s explore ways to be more careful garden stewards…

Got Whiteflies?

Remember that cloud of dust we were talking about before, that rises up as you water certain plants?

They’re called whiteflies, and they’re what’s leaving holes in all of your leaves. They’re pretty tiny, so you’ll really only see them if there’s a big group.

They like crucifers, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, okra, and sweet potatoes.

To get rid of them, first spray the plant with a hose so that they scatter.

Then, get yourself a spray bottle. With 2 parts rubbing alcohol, 5 parts water, and 1 part liquid soap (think Castile vegetable-based soap), and spray the leaves, underneath and all.

Repeat if necessary!

And don’t forget – ladybugs eat whiteflies! Your local nursery probably sells them.
image

Stunted Plants

Stunted plants can be caused by a nitrogen deficiency. If everything is growing but the edible bits, there’s an error in communication. Nitrogen helps plants make proteins, amino acids, and even the very DNA in its cells. Without it...

Leaves are small, the stems are weak, and the plants can’t produce. Buy a nitrogen test from your local garden nursery or hardware store. Then, if your levels are low, try this…

Add coffee grounds to the soil. Plant peas or beans in the nitrogen-lacking soil. Or you can purchase compost, and mix that in with the soil! Avoid anything that’s non-organic. The last thing you want is to cause an imbalance somewhere else!

Wilting Stalks

If your stalks are wilting, there are a few common causes.

For one, you may simply not be pruning the lower leaves enough. When you prune, you remove the need for the plant to expend energy on that extension. You want to do everything possible to encourage and train the plants to spend energy in its roots and in the fruits and vegetables themselves.

Similarly, you may want to stick a pole in the soil next to the stalk and lightly tie it to the stalk with twine. The less energy the plant has to use holding itself up against heavy winds or heavy fruit, the more it can spend strengthening itself and growing.

Plus, you should probably water it more!

Crucifers Planted Near Each Other

Oftentimes, when you plant cruciferous vegetables near each other, they don’t thrive. The reason for that is they attract the same kinds of pests and suffer the same kinds of afflictions. Flea beetles love crucifers, for example. Planting them near each other gives beetles the chance to snack on everything all at once.

Crucifers are also susceptible to club root, whereby the roots swell and stop absorbing water, killing the plant.

Not only that, but diseases like club root can remain in the same soil long after the plant it infected is gone. Even growing plants susceptible to the same diseases in the same area where remnants of the disease can linger on will ruin a crop.

We’ll keep talking about common vegetable ailments in the next few weeks, with an eye toward organic and home-bound remedies!

Now considered to be a dysfunction of the immune system, Lyme disease can mimic other chronic conditions; it can manifest in autoimmunity… along with other misunderstood chronic conditions, Lyme disease has destroyed people’s lives.
Lyme disease can be a devastating (and sometimes hidden) condition, but it doesn’t have to be! Known as “The Great Imitator,” Lyme disease may mimic other chronic health conditions: arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, MS, depression…
But the sooner it’s detected, the easier it is to address!
—>>Gain a deeper understanding of Lyme disease when you attend this complimentary, online event!
Lyme disease is difficult to diagnose and treat and has over 150 different possible symptoms: fatigue, mood problems, insomnia, neurological impairments, brain fog, migraines, gut issues, neuropathy, joint pain and others. If not properly treated, over time Lyme disease becomes chronic and can manifest in autoimmunity or a number of other degenerative, debilitating health issues.
Some people live in a cycle of symptom management while remaining extremely ill.
Many doctors don’t know which medications to give people, so many have to find their own solutions.
The fact is: if you don’t know the root cause of your health issues, it’s so much harder to heal.
WHY ATTEND?
Your host, Dr. Jay Davidson, nearly lost his wife to chronic Lyme disease, which prompted him to undergo years of research to help her heal. He’ll share that wisdom with you during this summit.
Lean on the wisdom of our health experts to help with:
+ Testing methods and treatment protocols
+ Steps to take before addressing Lyme
+ Staying empowered in the doctor/patient relationship
+ Supporting mitochondrial health and drainage
+ Detox and diet protocols
+ Nutrition, exercise and mindset strategies
+ And so much more!
If you’ve been diagnosed with or suspect you’ve been misdiagnosed, it’s time to gain a deeper understanding of Lyme disease!
Join us at this important event to discover current research and novel approaches to testing and treating chronic Lyme disease and what you can do to boost your immune system health.
You’re not alone. There are answers. We can heal together.
