Hey,
For years I’ve been appalled at how much science has been tainted with corporate influence.
Just look at how successful the tobacco industry was at manufacturing doubt on the link between smoking and cancer… they confused the public and politicians so much that it took decades before we finally started putting more convincing health policies in place.
The same happened with Big Agriculture. Think Monsanto. The same happened with Asbestos. The same happens again, again and again -- in virtually all industries.
And -- of course -- the same is happening with EMF science. In today’s new episode of the Smarter Tech podcast, you’ll hear how the regulatory agencies who are supposed to protect users against the health effects of electro-pollution are in bed with the industry… and what we can do about it:
===> [New Podcast] The Obvious Bias in EMF Science
If this injustice revolts you as much as it does for me, please share this episode widely. We need to fight for independent science, safer regulations, and safer technologies. Our health depends on it.

Good day, Jimi!
Do you know what (or where) your microbiome is?

One of the most exciting frontiers in medicine, the microbiome is considered by some experts to be like a newly-discovered organ, a "2nd brain," that profoundly controls aspects of health throughout your body.

Yet many people don’t even know it exists... or how to care for it.

The microbiome is the complex ecosystem of your digestive tract, where billions of invisible bacteria live together and help keep you healthy and happy; it actually weighs about the same as your brain and contains 100 times more genes than your entire DNA!

--->>Learn more about your microbiome when you attend our Gut & Microbiome Rescue Summit!

WHY ATTEND?
Your host, Shivan Sarna, creator of the Digestion SOS® Docusummit and three previous summits on digestive health, has struggled with digestive issues and autoimmune disease her entire life. In 2015, she got serious about getting to the root cause of her symptoms so she could take back control of her life. Every avenue she researched ultimately led back to the same place: every symptom from belly bloat to painful psoriasis flares was tied to her gut microbiome health.

The more she’s learned about the gut and digestion in her summit work, the more she’s developed the understanding that the microbiome is the KEY to overall health.

She’s here to share everything she’s learned from the 100+ health experts she’s interviewed over the years.

The Gut & Microbiome Rescue Summit could help you:
  • Understand the importance and function of your microbiome
  • Learn novel approaches to microbiome health
  • Diversify your diet and feed your microbiome
  • Demystify probiotics
  • Strengthen the oral, gut and skin microbiomes
  • Recognize impacts of toxins, parasites, blood sugar and hormone imbalance
  • Learn what’s cutting-edge from the researchers directly
  • And so much more!
It may be invisible, but your microbiome is a living, dynamic thing that you can impact directly with your everyday choices!

You can truly get started on better health today!

--->>We’ll see you online at our Gut & Microbiome Rescue Summit when you register now!
To your health,
Bob & Bobby
Co-founders, Health Talks Online

P.S. When you register for The Gut & Microbiome Rescue Summit, you’ll also unlock early-access interviews, complimentary guides and helpful eBooks about living your most resilient life!

There are many ways to stimulate different areas of the brain as well as change their function. A simple way that a lot of my patients find easy to implement is to listen to binaural beats. By definition, a binaural beat isn’t the same frequency going in both ears. This is one of my favorites that is designed to get both halves of the brain communicating better and process different kinds of information by stimulating a type of brain wave called gamma waves. Leaky Mouth?
What does that even mean and how can it affect my health?

At this point, everyone has heard of a leaky gut, but something I see clinically
is a concept we might call a ‘leaky mouth’. Remember, any barrier can be
broken and if something is on fire then we actually have to point the fire
extinguisher in the right place to put it out.

Gingivalis
There can definitely be more well-known bacteria involved like
Porphyromonas Gingivalis in someone’s gum diseases, but like most
dysbiosis, there is usually more than one little critter contributing to the
problem. The biggest contributors are commonly called keystone pathogens.

Strep & Candida
Below, we see how different kinds of strep interact with Candida Albicans
(Both are fed by sugar – hint, hint, quit eating sugar). On the left, with one
form of strep called S. oralis we can them making more plaque and breaking
through the oral barrier. On the right, we can see Candida and a different
strep called S. mutans where they are more resistant to oral enzymes and
causing cavities.
mail
Stress
But it is important to remember that not all Candida are bad. In fact, everyone
has Candida. So what can help make it a problem other than sugar and
different kinds of bacteria? Well, stress can definitely do it. Candida has a lot
of genes that are turned on when we as a host are stressed out. In this
picture, if you look on the upper right, we can even see on a microscope the
Candida (that is living with a bacteria) making hyphae (kind of like a spear)
that is an indication that the Candida has now turned pathogenic.
mail
Smokings Impact
By now, mostly everyone knows there is no good reason to smoke. Long gone
is the terribly done research paid for by tobacco companies that said
otherwise. Smoking can definitely be a form of chemical stress as well as
aggravate the immune system in the mouth as well as the lungs. This has
actually been shown in some genetically susceptible people to be a trigger for
Rheumatoid Arthritis.
mail
Atherosclerosis and Neural Autoimmunity
But more than just causing cavities and RA. A leaky mouth has also been
demonstrated to contribute to atherosclerosis and neural autoimmunity.
mail
Implications
Lastly, below we can see that some oral bacteria have been implicated in
Sjrögren’s, Crohn’s, and even Lupus (on top of RA).

As we can clearly see, there can be far-reaching and detrimental
consequences to a leaky mouth. It is important to properly evaluate this
system as well, especially if there already appears to be a problem in the area
as well as a genetic predisposition and/or family history of autoimmunity. An
easy step I take with my patients is to switch their toothpaste to Dentalcidin ,
which is designed to help with getting rid of those little critters and the biofilm
(plaque) they make.

Hi friend,

Just wanted to send you a quick email this morning to let you know that the NEW version of my award-winning Mastering Blood Sugar program closes this Sunday at midnight (Eastern).

Due to the current situation happening in the U.S. and around the world, we extended several limited-time options to join the Mastering Blood Sugar program with fewer barriers and several very affordable options.

This is the premier diabetes reversal program in the world, and has been since 2014 when I created the original MBS program. To learn more and pick which option suits you best, just click here.

Here are a few key points about the Mastering Blood Sugar program:

+ It's not specific to one diet. We don't force our clients to follow a plant-based diet, keto diet, or any other highly restrictive diet. The food recommendations are customized to each specific client.

+ We use a functional medicine model to help determine each client's root causes, which are the factors driving up blood sugar and leading to diabetes. Then, we personalize a program to address the root causes in order to optimize blood sugar and reverse type 2 diabetes.

+ Our coaches are all licensed healthcare practitioners and diabetes experts with decades of experience in conventional and functional diabetes care. Diabetes is a serious health problem and should be handled by serious clinicians with the right experience and expertise.

+ The program combines online learning in the safety and comfort of your home with individualized coaching to support you, keep you accountable, and personalize your care.

Due to the personalized nature of our program, we have very limited coaching spots open, and enrollment for the program will close this Sunday, July 26th at midnight Eastern.

To learn more about the program and choose the option that works best for you, just click this link.

I hope to see you in the program and help you to reach your health and blood sugar goals.

Blessings,

Dr. Brian Mowll
The Diabetes Coach™
Certified Diabetes Educator
IFM-Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner

P.S. There's never a perfect time to commit to your health and to fix your blood sugar. If you are waiting until you have more time, the economy improves, or until you try the latest fad diet approach or supplement, you could end up losing valuable time. On the other hand, if you get started with the Mastering Blood Sugar program now, you could have optimal blood sugar levels and possibly even reverse your diabetes in the next few months. Hey Jimi,
The events of the last several months have put everyone on high alert.
And for good reason.
We’ve seen how quickly things can change, how quickly your health can be threatened, and how quickly systems can break down.
But that’s ok because one positive thing that’s come out of all the chaos of 2020 is that millions of people are opening their eyes to what’s really happening with their health and the health of their families.
You never know when something like a Coronavirus or a SARS, or even a freak strain of the flu might happen and make hundreds of thousands sick very quickly.
But we do know that there are steps you and your family can take to make sure you’re not at a higher risk for potential threats like these… and threats that we’ve come to “take for granted” like autoimmune disorders and even cancer.
There are so many things you can do every single day to help stay healthy, maintain a strong immune system and even help keep scary diseases at bay…
And they’re actually quite simple.
Our trusted friends recently created this brand new free report that shows you 27 of the most important foods and nutrition you need to keep yourself and your family healthier and better equipped to handle a health situation if it comes up.
It’s 100% free and packed with information you can use right now to dramatically improve your health.

Good day, Jimi!

How we understand, research and even treat cancer can be controversial.

There are those who believe that almost anything (including cancer) can be treated and/or cured by using only nutrition, herbs, supplements, essential oils and more.

Then there’s conventional medicine advocating chemotherapy, radiation and surgery along with other emerging technological advancements in the way we understand our own complex body.

Question is: who is "right" and who is "wrong?"

What if...

...everyone IS right and everyone IS wrong, to a certain degree, and the only thing we’re missing is "how" to put it all together?

--->>We'd love to have you join us for a new, 9-part docuseries called The Answer to Cancer!

In today’s world we’re living longer than ever. The average human lifespan has been steadily increasing throughout history, but we’re on the cusp of some amazing breakthroughs when it comes to aging and health.

Scientists now believe that over the next several decades we could discover technology to DOUBLE our human lifespan to almost 150 years old.

The problem is: we’re living LONGER but we’re not necessarily living BETTER, especially with diseases like cancer and other conditions rapidly rising.

Who wants to live to be 150 years old and have a body that’s broken down with multiple chronic conditions and disease? We sure don’t.

Fortunately, some of the most remarkable advances in the way we treat cancer, may very well hold the key to living to 150, 175, 200 years or more!

--->>Learn more when you join us for a new, 9-part docuseries called The Answer to Cancer!

The Answer to Cancer is taking place August 4-12, 2020. This series poses answers to questions, new protocols, new methods of prevention and a variety of different explanations and insight into traditional and non-traditional treatments alike.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest: Bigger Danger for Men

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Sudden cardiac arrest results in 325,000 adult deaths in the U.S. each year, which is 50% of all of the deaths from heart disease.

Sudden cardiac arrest can occur in the wake of a heart attack, or it can be a separate catastrophic cardiac event. When it occurs outside a hospital setting, the death rate is 90%.

Sudden cardiac death occurs twice as often in men as in women, no matter the age group.

Special: Report: 2 Warning Signs of Sudden Cardiac Death

At age 45, the lifetime risk for sudden cardiac death was 10.9% in men and 2.8% in women. The risk was 11.2% in men and 3.4% in women at age 55; 10.1% in men and 3.4% in women at age 65; and 6.7% in men and 2.4% in women at age 75, according to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

The researchers found that high blood pressure was the best predictor of sudden cardiac arrest, though other factors include elevated cholesterol, obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, stress, and the use of tobacco or other smoking products.

A study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that cardiac arrest may not occur as unexpectedly as believed.

They collected information about the four weeks before sudden cardiac arrests and found that about half of patients had warning signs during that period that had reoccurred during the 24 hours beforehand.

Symptoms were classified as chest pain (typical or atypical), difficulty breathing, palpitations, sudden drop in blood pressure/loss of consciousness, abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting, and back pain.

Quarantine Weight? Try This At Home
If you are like the majority of Americans, you may have been caught by surprise when your favorite pair of jeans seem to fit extra snug these past few months.
While being stuck in the house with no access to a gym and consuming more “comfort food” than usual, a majority of Americans are experiencing fatigue, digestive discomfort, achy joints, skin problems, and weight gain.
And with no end in sight, the health of men and women across the country has reached a high level of concern.
It’s important to understand that just because quarantine has forced a more sedentary lifestyle for most Americans, it's still possible to maintain good health.
In fact, world renowned heart surgeon, Dr. Steven Gundry, revealed one simple trick Americans can do every morning that will allow them to experience more energy, better digestion, healthier joints, clearer skin, and even weight loss.
The best part? You don’t need access to a gym, and you can do it right in the comfort of your own home.
Click here to find out right now>>
One excited user even said, “I don’t ever see myself buying another gym membership or trying to stick to some impossible diet. Dr. Gundry’s trick is not only so easy to use, my body has never felt or looked this good, even before this quarantine started. This is something everyone needs to know about”.
If you want to learn how you can get your body back too, click here right now to watch this incredible presentation.

Hi Jimi,

I think we can all agree… The state of the world is chaotic right now.

On top of massive social unrest, cases of flu and related viruses continue to rise at alarming rates and age still plays a strong role in the roulette wheel of who will recover from it…

And who won’t.

These are unprecedented times, and yet we’re living in an era of incredible scientific advancement, even (maybe especially) when it comes to aging and longevity.

As Professor at the prestigious Harvard Medical School Genetics and one of the founding members of the non-profit Academy for Health and Lifespan Research, Dr. David Sinclair states:

“It’s actually rare to open a leading scientific journal and not see a new breakthrough in our understanding of the aging process.”

His career and the institutions he works for and with are dedicated to the question of “how to keep the body younger and not develop diseases of aging”...

And he’s not only confident the insights they are uncovering are going to heavily impact the entire world, he is certain.

It’s not a question of if there’s going to be an impact, it’s really a question of what kind of a future we want to build when this happens.

If YOU want to know the most current, data-driven and PROVEN ways to slow and even reverse accelerated aging and age-related disease…

Protect yourself from or correct things like brain fog... wrinkles and skin deterioration... memory fading… Or even the big ones like Parkinson’s, Dementia or Alzheimer’s...

Whatever your age or situation may be…

Then you need to check out what my friend Dr. Elena Villanueva has put together.

It’s cutting-edge, comprehensive, and offers practical solutions that you can put into practice right away.

Here’s to bolstering your body’s strength in fighting disease, and feeling decades younger.

Be Blessed!

A few months ago, we introduced Biopure’s new Liver Tincture to support your liver and bile health, and it has quickly become one of our most popular products.
Liver Tincture is a liposomal herbal tincture formulated to stimulate bile release and enhance liver and gallbladder function.*
WHY focus on the liver? Your liver has to process biotoxins produced from different microbes, which can overwhelm it very quickly. It also processes metabolic waste, hormones and environmental toxicants which we’re up against every day, such as heavy metals and organophosphates (the main components of herbicides, pesticides, and insecticides).
This tincture is comprised of a blend of bitter herbs known to increase bile flow, such as:
  • Artichoke Leaf Extract
  • Dandelion Root
  • Gentian
...as well as immune boosting herbs like Baptisia and Coptis to kill pathogens (Coptis is a natural source of berberines which are naturally antibacterial).
I share more about how you can support your liver health in this short educational video.
This is a new ally to support our patients, and I’m excited to share this education and product.

To your best health and life,

I've been working on this for months, Jimi... and it's finally (almost) ready!

I'm so excited to announce my upcoming project: The Gut and Microbiome Rescue Summit, live September 7-13, 2020!

In case you hadn't guess, this summit is all about 2 topics near and dear to me: the gut and microbiome.

For years, my focus has been IBS and SIBO, and I'm no less passionate about them now... but I found that wherever my research led me, the microbiome was always in the periphery...

A lot of the advice for healing SIBO and keeping a healthy microbiome seem to be "at odds." You might feel like you have to choose keeping your SIBO symptoms under control OR a thriving microbiome.

But that didn't make sense to me.... so I decided to dig deeper with one of my favorite learning tools: a new summit.

I interviewed 51 experts about EVERY aspect of the microbiome... including an all-new interview with Dr. Allison Siebecker just about SIBO and the microbiome.

Plus, info on the gut-brain connection, autoimmunity, the oral microbiome, probiotics, what to eat for a healthy microbiome, and much, much more.

I promise you're going to come away from this summit with a deeper, more complete understanding of the incredible microbiome as well as action steps for better health you can start using right now.

I want to invite you EARLY, as my special guest... all you need to do is register HERE.

The Summit starts September 7, but when you register early today you'll get a bunch of free gifts to start enjoying right now:

  • Boosting Immunity Through Gut Health - Heal Your Gut, Boost Immunity, & Get Your Life Back! eGuide
  • The Microbiome Rescue eGuide
  • Research-Proven Probiotics eBook
  • Let’s “Talk” About SIBO eBook
Plus, access to 4 of the amazing Summit talks right away!

>>>Click here to register and get instant access to these gifts

Hope & hugs,

Shivan

PS - Dr. Siebecker, Dr. Mark Pimentel, Dr. Ali Rezaie, Ocean Robbins, Dr. Tom O'Bryan, Dr. Ilana Gurevich, Dr. Anne Hill - these are just a handful of the experts who will be speaking! Don't miss out - register today!!

Hi Jimi,
A 2018 study reported in USA Today told us that 83% of Americans were adding more plant-based foods to their diet.
And for good reason…
A nutritional update for physicians reported in The Permanente Journal noted that plant-based diets:
  • Are actually cost-effective “medical interventions”

  • Can reduce obesity, lower blood pressure, improve blood sugar control, and drop LDL cholesterol levels

  • May reduce the number of medications needed to treat chronic disease

  • And even lower death rates from heart disease
We want to tell you about an upcoming complimentary 80-minute Food for Health Masterclass. It’s from one of our own health heroes and a champion of plant-based eating, John Robbins.
In case you don’t know, John Robbins was groomed to be heir of the Baskin-Robbins ice cream empire. But John walked away from his future “paved with gold and ice cream” and devoted his life to educating people about healthy eating.
>> Reserve your spot for the Food for Health Masterclass [FREE]
In this brilliant Masterclass, you’ll discover 10 powerful plant-powered food breakthroughs that are easy to implement — and can help you enjoy your healthiest life (while relieving your stress and boosting happiness).
John and his son Ocean will inspire you to finally take your health into your own hands, where it belongs.
They’ll tell you about the dangerous and deadly food lies you’ve been “fed” by the food industry.
And you’ll see how you can help save the planet with what you eat — and don’t eat. Plus, your food choices today will leave a better world for your grandkids.
If you value your health, like I know you do, then this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss.
To your health,
The VegHealth Team

P.S. Even if you’re a confirmed meat-eater, I’d urge you to take the time to see what John has to say. Making just small changes to your diet can help you reap big rewards when it comes to your health and longevity — in ways you probably can’t even conceive of right now. Register for the FREE 80-minute Food for Health Masterclass now!

SELF-WORTH
Self-worth. It can be a difficult concept to truly understand. For me, I thought that I understood it and had it, but it took cancer to help me see that I had a lot of work to do in this area.

There are a number of things that led me to the realization that I did not actually believe myself worthy of the things that I wanted, and I’m actually just realizing as I’m writing this that that’s why I didn’t follow my dreams sooner. Sure, there was fear of failure and putting myself out there, but that fear, now that I think about it, really stems from believing I didn’t deserve any of it and was therefore guaranteed to fail. I mean, who was I to get everything I dreamed of?

Cancer did a lot for me in this area. It pushed me to decide how I felt about my health and what I felt was right for it, and then it forced me to stand by that decision. It pushed me to go after my dreams in spite of my fears, because getting to the end of my life (potentially sooner than expected) and not having at least tried was way scarier than going for it. And it set me on a path of self-exploration and discovery that eventually led me to the realization that I had a lot of work to do around my self-worth and the lies I had been telling myself since I was a teenager.

I think a contributing factor, especially for breast cancer, is a chronic feeling of responsibility to put everything else before our own needs. It’s another lie we tell ourselves, that people won’t stick around if we don’t look after them more thoroughly than ourselves, that we won’t deserve to get to where we want to in our career if we take a break when we need it, or any other of a million reasons that stem from our lack of self-worth.

But they are just that, lies. You ARE deserving. You ARE amazing just as you are. You ARE worthy. And if that doesn’t feel accurate to you, I encourage you to take a little time to reflect on why that is and where that lack of self-worth is stemming from for you. There is also a challenge starting this Monday that can help you to do just that. It’s free to participate and all of the details are below.

Trust me when I say that your dreams are your destiny; they are your dreams because someone or something out there wants you to have them, and so you are inherently worthy of them. Now, go get ‘em ?
Happy Healing ❤
P.S. I'm going to be taking a little break for some recharging and refocusing, so there won't be a newsletter next week as I will be taking the week off from imPOWERED and posting in the blog and Orenda Facebook group. I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful week, and I'll be back posting after the long weekend on August 4th!

In this episode of imPOWERED, I spoke with certified Pure Coach, Marvin Theodore. Marvin is an expert in the power of habits. Through dealing with his own severe anxiety, depression, anger, isolation, and an eating disorder stemming from fears of not being good enough, Marvin began to combine his passion for physical wellness with mental and emotional wellness as well. Now, he helps clients to understand their habits and choices, find balance in their lives, and prioritize their own physical, mental, and emotional health as they find their path holistic well-being. He joins me to discuss the Art Of Well-being and:
  • How we can find balance in our daily lives and in our wellness practices
  • How habits play a role in our overall well-being
  • How physical well-being is connected to mental and emotional health, and more!

Mental Health Monday
It was my Cancerversary last Monday! Cancer taught me so much, and lessons keep on occurring to me. So, throughout the year, I like to write them all down as they come to me and, starting on my Cancerversary, I start to share the lessons from the year just passed. This week, I wanted to talk about some of the biggest learning for me, how to get through a massive, life-altering challenge like cancer with my mental and emotional health intact. For a long time, I have wanted to devote some time to thinking about how exactly I found such a positive path through and after cancer. And so, on Monday I sat down and wrote out my initial thoughts on it, and I shared them in this week's MHM vlog.

We are in the midst of summer and it’s very humid here! What are you doing to stay cool? My boys and I really enjoy going to the local creek, and digging for old bottles and clay pipes! We find some pretty neat finds, we play fetch with our pup, do some fishing, and we do some good old fashioned creek swimming!

If you followed me in the past when I was at Primal Bliss Nutrition, you might remember I did a lot of work surrounding autoimmunity, and an autoimmune diet. Both I and some family members have recently experienced autoimmune-related flare-ups.

Unmanaged cortisol due to stress can definitely contribute to autoimmunity. We are in a very stressful time, so this makes sense. There are so many other factors as well. I plan to write more about ways to manage both mental and physical stress that we carry.

Lately, I have been exploring the role of plant phytates and lectins in autoimmunity, and have also been extensively researching the carnivore diet as a means to healing.

More on this in future posts, but I wanted to let you know that it’s been on my radar!

Here are my Primal Musings for this week:

  1. Remember, no feeling is final.

The world can seem pretty insane right now. I’ve had a lot of friends/family reach out to me experiencing strong feelings. One of my favorite sayings is "no feeling is final." Like waves, feelings come and go. The important thing is to try not to get too caught up in the feeling, and just allow yourself to experience it and let go. No easy feat, but a good concept to practice, nonetheless.

2. Rest Your Brain.

Physical stress can be exhausting, but so can research, work, and thinking. Spending too much time enveloped in work and not enough rest/play can take a toll on your health. Your body needs rest, yes. But so does your brain! In fact, just by writing this email, my brain is burning through glucose.

3. It may not make sense to anyone else, but if it makes sense to you, go for it.

There are some things I’m seriously thinking about pursuing, and I know I will get slack from friends and family. When I quiet my mind, I feel excited about these things. That’s how I know I need to do them anyway.
4. "It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society"- Jiddu Krishnamurti

Remember, "moderation" of poor choices doesn’t always work when you’re looking to heal. Being well-adjusted to depression, digestive issues, and PMS because it’s the norm, doesn’t make it normal.

5. And on those days where it feels hard to breathe, push forward.

Good day, Jimi!

How we understand, research and even treat cancer can be controversial, especially when it comes to the benefits of natural treatments, like fasting.

Our ancestors once lived in a way that created robust health to help them survive the rigorous wear and tear of life. We’ve lost those life skills.

Today, more and more people are struggling with their weight, chronic pain, memory loss, digestive problems, cancer and autoimmune diseases.

The truth is there is no diet, no natural remedy protocol or chemotherapy strategy that will work every time.

What this means is that the answer for your needs will not necessarily be the same answer for your loved ones. Focus must be placed on customizing protocols and strategies to fit each individual.

We're happy to say that a new docuseries intends to dig more deeply into this question...

--->>Please join us at the new, 9-part docuseries event, The Answer To Cancer, when you register today!

The Betrayal of Growth: Moving On from Your Former Self

Have you ever lost touch with a close friend, only to hear about their lives later and think “That doesn’t sound like them at all”?

Have you ever read an old journal entry of your own making, cringing at best and at worst, finding that the you who once felt immutable and immortal is trite and unrelatable?

Have you ever found relationships in your life becoming less compatible, even though the experiences you’ve shared together, your sense of humor, and the almost palpable love in your heart hasn’t changed?

Congratulations: You’ve betrayed your former self.
image

It’s okay – you’re practically required to.

Growing up means molting. Progress, reevaluation, updating priorities, changing opinions, axing old habits and building new ones – that should feel as natural to all of us as a leopard gecko feels shedding their skin monthly.

But we’re humans. And we’ve got lots of feelings about ourselves that are intricately connected in ways we don’t fully understand. Growth can feel uncomfortable for a lot of reasons, and we’re not always in tune with why.

Sometimes, we’re releasing an attachment that was vital and meaningful to our former selves, but no longer serves. Sometimes, we’re coming to terms with selves that weren’t right to begin with, and correcting course accordingly.

Sometimes, we encounter new information that inspires us to change.

But at the root of the discomfort is a truth that’s hard to admit: It’s hard to escape feeling like by evolving, we’re invalidating who we once were, disrespecting our own legacy, and abandoning dreams we were once proud to have.

Self-Trust and Transformation

We change. Our lives change. Our circumstances change.

Every change requires adjustment. Radical change requires an overhaul.

But as humans, we’re awfully attached to the concept of ourselves – “that’s just who I am” being a frequent tautological response to explain our feelings and behavior.

But “who I am” isn’t real. “Who I am” goes through a permanent and lifelong editing process. “Who I am” doesn’t describe a mineral or a metal, it describes a personality that is fundamentally an amalgamation of everyone you’ve ever met, every movie you’ve ever loved, every book that impacted you, every lesson your parents taught you, every experience that tested you, and even the food you eat most often.

“Who I am” is a fake idea.

And letting go of it as a concept that will help you weather life’s storms can be an immensely helpful first step.

Can your values not guide you, then? Can your hobbies not fulfill you? Can your heroes not inspire and drive you?

Of course they can! The you that moves on from the you that was can’t leave its foundation behind – the you that emerges contains a former self who thought Thoreau was the wisest man in the world, or needed the excitement of a new city every three months, or never thought they’d have children.

It can be tough to let go of, though.

An Eye Towards Future You

Moving on to a new dream might seem like giving up on the old one – and along with the dream, giving up on the person who believed in it.

Try to look at it like this instead…

The person who believed in that dream lives on. They were just impacted by their surroundings, as everyone must be, and used the superior reasoning that came with learning over time to make new choices.

“I contain multitudes,” Walt Whitman famously said in his poem Leaves of Grass.

So do you!

Much of the world is in a transitional state. No one in the first world has spent as much time at home as adults as they have during the last six months. Plans have been dashed, families have been decimated, hopes have shifted direction.

It would stand to reason that some of us are feeling the pangs of personal transition… many of the things we wanted to accomplish this year aren’t going to look the way we thought they would. We may not even want them anymore.

And that is perfectly natural, reasonable, and frankly, inevitable.

Sit with yourself and try to identify what parts of your life your heart isn’t in anymore.

That could mean finally kicking a bad habit. Maybe for you, it’s reconsidering your career path.

Allow yourself to become the person you want to be without feeling beholden to the person who got you through the last phase of your life.

We must be always ready to meet the next phase, and the you that greets the future needs space and grace to grow!

Hi, it's Evan Brand.

When’s the last time you had a GREAT night’s sleep?

I’m talking about falling asleep quickly, not waking up at 3 AM, and arising feeling refreshed and ready to meet the day… even before that cup of coffee!

For most of us, that delicious night’s sleep is a distant memory. And not only is that lack of sleep impacting our energy levels, it’s impacting our health.

Studies show that poor sleep is connected with a weakened immune system, diabetes, weight gain, depression, anxiety, cognitive decline, heart disease/ stroke, and an increase level of pain.

Yes, the media and traditional medicine tries to convince us to opt for medication (which can leave us feeling groggy and unfulfilled)…

Fortunately, you don’t have to turn to medication. Instead, attend the free “Sleep Summit” to hear from experts (including me) in the fields of functional and natural medicine, mental health, EFT Tapping, and from research scientists who are working in the fields of heavy metal detoxification, deuterium depletion and nitric oxide … on how you can get a good night’s sleep… naturally.

You will learn practical tools, natural health solutions and uplifting perspectives on topics as diverse as:

  • Highly effective habits of good sleepers.
  • What to eat for a better night’s sleep, and when to eat it!
  • What might be underlying your inability to sleep, that you would have never guessed?
  • Why your WiFi, cell phone and other electronics might be taking a toll on your ability to sleep.
  • What do your hormones have to do with your inability to sleep?
  • ...And much more!
Register for this FREE online event here and TAKE BACK THE NIGHT.

We kick off July 28th.

See you in the Summit!

Best,

Evan Brand, CFMP, FNTP

P.S. Send this invitation to friends and family members who need to hear this information too!
