Today I’m talking about the spectrum of our feelings- your pain

, and your pleasure

.
Meet Julie and Cindy, two cases on their Hashimoto's journey.
Julie was dealing with digestive issues, headaches, lots of skin rashes and irritation, brain fog, and fatigue , and Cindy was experiencing hormone imbalances, fatigue, and a low sex drive...
Both cases are different and yet similar at the same time. Their uniting factor: frustrating symptoms they wanted to eliminate
Julie’s issue was actually part of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome - something that is quite common with Hashimoto’s and other autoimmune issues.
You might now know that Mast Cell Activation Syndrome has lots of unpleasant symptoms that are very similar to Hashimoto's such as:

Pain in the muscles and joints

Brain fog

Fatigue

GI issues
... and so many more.
Mast cells are very tied to the development of autoimmune disease as they are involved in both innate and adaptive immunity. So if you suffer from an autoimmune disease, you want to make sure to avoid triggers that activate mast cells.
If you have experienced symptoms of mast cell activation (joint pain, fatigue, brain fog, and GI issues), I have a whole episode -
Got A Mysterious Chronic Condition? where we discuss the causes and solutions to this problem in great detail that you don’t want to miss.
Cindy’s case:
Even though she had many symptoms, her low sex drive bugged her the most.
Can you relate?
Living with Hashimoto's is challenging because we have to deal with so many unpleasant symptoms and all we want is to be symptom free so that we can live our “normal lives.”
Perhaps you’ve said to yourself “my sex drive isn’t as important as X,” but is that really true?
I discuss Cindy’s case in more detail with a well known intimacy expert, Susan Bratton (and we get pretty intimate!), you can hear the whole conversion in the episode -
The Case Of The Missing Sex Drive.
Intimacy is important in every romantic relationship - you don’t want to miss this.
If you have any questions or have a topic you want me to cover in the coming episodes, simply reply to this email and I would love to hear from you!
Warmly,
