This thread is great! LOL

Teach me, what is the best part of the Orchid for you?

What do you hate most about the orchid?

Tool less filling would be great! But I think my o ring grips the chimney to tight because that goes with the top cap...

Gotta figure out the plug before drilling extra holes on my top cap. I'll give this some thought.

Nope, im scrapping that idea. The plug would have to provide perfect seal, be easy to remove and look good. Dont have anything like that lying around.

Where is the best place to get this in the usa? I don't want to have to modify my orchid. Will it fit the v2 without modification? I think I will need it quickly. Do you lose capacity?

angel cigs sells them. and yes you will lost capacity. I threw one on my orchid V3 over the weekend and wasn't sure if it was the wicking or the tank rings were too close to the chimney but it just had dry hits one after another. either way I'm going to have to troubleshoot it this weekend. but I'm sure I'll have to drop the glass tank idea and just vape non tank cracking juice out of my orchids.

EDIT: it was focal that sells them in the us but are expensive. also 101vape.com has them. They are in San Diego.

me too, nothing is ever perfect. there is always something we don't like. I'm thinking about getting a billow but want a nano sized tank and will get both full sized and nano if they ever offer a nano.

not sure about the 'best place' in the usa, i got mine from http://www.dmvapor.com/collections/accessories/products/frosted-clear-kayfun-kit

the guys who run that site just happen to be local so i pick my stuff up directly, great guys to deal with.

those tanks aren't glass/quartz so they will prob just end up cracking on you as well.

i put mine on a v4 so i lost a little capacity, but i'm not sure if it would take away any capacity on a v2.

They are out of stock. I didn't think this juice would crack my tanks as they are not citrus. Hubby's tank also cracked. Grrr. I guess it must be the banana.

banana is known to crack tanks. (at least mt. baker banana does) but I have been vaping strawberry banana for months now and it hasn't cracked my tanks. (but it's not on their tank cracking list)

side note, I really hate my kayfun quartz tanks. the o-rings keep breaking, the tops wobble and that is just on my kayfun. I haven't sorted out the problem on my orchid just yet.

buy a billow and you can use your tank cracking juice.

sucks. before I bought my first orchid I purposely searched for a juice I liked that wouldn't crack my tanks. you can try a quartz kit to see if it will work for you. others have said they are flawless, I'm going to work on mine to see if I can make mine flawless. even if I have to mill out the juice channels out which I'm close to doing.

Funny business with these clones. All three Orchids are V4, all made by Tobeco and all are still individuals :D one wicks vg-heavy liquids easily, one snaps even 22ga wires like a guillotine and one somehow loosens the center post every few days.

Like russian machine guns, parts from similar models are non interchangeble with each other.

Me neither. I've always used flat head screws when putting fill ports in top caps, which is not what you're looking for. :(

Yeah, sounds like that juice is a serious tank cracker. I have extra V2 tanks if you want one pronto. Just PM me.

However, if you decide to move to glass, a few things to consider. Nano size (V1-V3) glass holds so little juice it's not worth it IMO. I rejected it the first time I set one up. So, if you go to glass consider moving up to full size Kayfun/Orchid V4. When you do that you will need a chimney to fit it. All this stuff is cheap on FT. But again, PM me if you want a quicker fix.

Cheers!

Really, buy a $$$ Billow just for the glass? I use the Kayfun/Orchid glass tanks all the time, and my biggest problem is I DROP THEM. FT has replacement glass for about $1 a piece.

Re the quality of o-rings, all FT o-rings are inferior IMO. Just invest $5 in a lifetime supply of Buna-N rubber ones. I find myself eventually replacing the o-rings in all my clones with those. Best $5 I ever spent on vape gear, I think. :)

Well, 2.5mm is a really nice bump. That gives a bit more than Billow. Don't really need 2.8mm.

it's not the answer, but it is an option. just so she doesn't feel like the only way to vape her favorite juice is to buy lifetime supply of PMMA tanks. I haven't bought a billow because I'm going to attempt the kayfun glass on my orchid. hopefully the V4 full sized tank will be better than my V3

Thanks for the offer, hubby was using the same e liquid and his practically melted too. So I will need to get 2. I should probably get a few of them. Do you know somewhere that I can get these tanks at a reasonable price. I will have to use my kayfun and taifun until I get spare tanks. But I will have to figure out something else as this tank cracker is wonderful. Love my orchid, it is my favorite, but wish they would make a glass tank especially for it.

I would like to try the billow, as it is glass, but alas sold out. I will wait for it to restock. I like the idea of a larger tank capacity and if the flavour is as good as the orchid it may be a winner.

Thanks to all for your advice... it is much appreciated.

are those the exact ones? I don't see a size. I'm about to order some right now.

I took that link off my saved watch list, which has an updated description. My purchase record says the size spec. is 15mm ID x 1.5mm thick. Click on the vendor and the codes should be listed with corresponding part numbers.

Has anyone had experience with the lemo or billow and how are they in comparison to the orchid.

Billow is at least as good or better than Orchid, depending on the features you prefer (glass, high capacity) and how much you are willing to spend. Orchid is ~1/3 the price of Billow and Lemo.

Lemo and Orchid comparisons are apples and oranges, single vs. dual coil. Lemo is like a Kayfun with much better airflow, plus other features that some prefer (glass tanks, capacity).

There are good threads on both in this section of the site.

If you have a taifun nano tank you should be able to use that on a standard height orchid. At least till you get replacements.
You can get cheap tanks here, 2 weeks using usps express or 1st class ePacket china.

I don't really see the need for a two piece chimney. I have been getting away without one for a few months now so i don't see the need. the threaded chimney and glass is what I was waiting for. and a nano version for my 18350 modes will be perfect. I won't need any other device (yeah right)

This one has a two-part chimney. ;)

http://www.fasttech.com/products/2028209

(Comes with the usual metal and plastic tanks)

Wow, the fasttech elves have been busy!
Bout time the clones did a 2 piece.
The little air hole dams look like they may choke off the flow a little though, I like how billow did it better.

The orchid is making nice progression though, the glass with chimney threading to top cap is a win! Nano version may end up in the cart when it comes.

Athertech v1.5 is out now, upgrade... small allen key is included and price drop to $130 lol.

I like how it's not even a clone anymore, there is no such thing as an orchid V6 lol except in clone ville.

You don't really know if it's a benefit unless you have one though. It's nice to be able to test the build before filling and also to tuck the wicks trailing side tails back down on the deck after the threads on the chimney wall pulled them up as you screwed it on ;)

We did just fine with candles back on the day but light bulbs were so much better. Did you need electricity? No, but it was so much more convenient than candles.

well I have kayfuns and but i wick my orchids different than my kayfuns. which I'm going to rewick my kayfuns like I wick my orchids so I won't even take the top part off of my chimney. I tuck the wicks instead of putting it down the channels. but don't get me wrong, it's nice to have, but it's not a deal breaker for me. as a matter of fact the orchid I have here, I haven't rewicked for at least a month.
