Wanted something warmer for the Goon on the Point Blank..
Framed Staples are always a great build and I took them to the Extreme, using N80 Ribbon, 26N80 Framed and 46N80 Outer Wrap. It lights up very quickly on a Mech and glows very smoothly. The Outer Wrap virtually removes ramp up time since its 1/4th the size of the 1mm thickness of the Ribbon wire....microscopic..The zoomed in pics are with a 12x Macro Lens and it barely defines it...

They work even better then they look! I wish I could make Aliens out of 46g...Ive only gotten as high as 40g and even then it seems like the wrap like to defy physics.. Next time I make these I may try to get the wire slightly space through the hole coil like in the second to last picture...then you can see the Ribbon more and the juice could seep in easier.

I love your description of how they ramp up quick. They look like they should. 46g, that shit has to be pretty damn thin!

Its thinner then peach fuzz

I remember way back when I first started building, trying to make a fused Clapton with 42g, and it actually cut a huge groove into my nail and cut into my thumb ........and of course it's so fine you feel none of this happening until you actually stop :tantrum: hahahaha lesson learned..........I feel sorry for you guys working with 40g+, the cramps and carpal tunnel must be insane

They benefit with wicking, they guide and hold the juice. I have a pic of a Tsuka Alien Framed Staple....and thats the peak of the most wicking properties and performance you could have....though it take forever to make and getting it perfect is a challenge in itself...Also not many things can even accept these as they are large...

You want another Master Builder Challenge? Combine the Alien of yours with the Clapton Tsuka of this hahaha

I really dont like the clapton/outer wrap builds, the Tsuka already makes it too big and bulky even with the tiny guages and Ribbon...I could make it but it would only be used in the Coo TS...Maybe one day...

This is what I made this morning..I finally got some N80 Ribbon in yesterday and Ive wanted to make some color intricate builds....making it more then just the build, but also adding another dimension of building.

CSSFC N80/Kanthal Coloring!

That's why it made me laugh, you were saying yours barely fits, and I'm like, imagine trying to install this bitch in anything haha! Not to mention that it would take like 3-4 spools just to make one ahaha, $100 a pair please ahaha.......I'm really liking all these corrugated builds, I barely have patience with straight ribbon though, ain't no way I'm trying to fux with corrugating it too, keep up the great work

P.S. Don't be afraid to send me one of your coil graveyards either *cough-cough* I'd fux with these for sure!

Just looking at this makes my fingers cramp, this is on a damn penny, pretty crazy! Think you could make some Aliens this small?

No he used 50g to make those Aliens....Im barely pushing 40g Aliens...maybe some about 2mm larger then that but not that tiny..Ive done Fused Claptons much smaller then that though..You pay shipping and Ill send a nice collection of ones Ive tossed ;)

That's still pretty damn small, too small for me to even try, I'd destroy all the wire lol..................Sounds like a deal to me, I'd definitely do that, just give me some time to transfer funds into my PayPal and I'll definitely take you up on that offer, I'll send you a PM and we'll figure it out!
It's been kinda fun not having to build for myself recently, and using coils I know I couldn't build myself, thanks to @Poppa (K) nice little collection. I'll be glad to add yours to the growing collection too, love me some variety of awesome coils, gotta make sure there's at least one corrugated build in there though lol

I am practicing my Alien Game for much higher resistances and thinner gauges all around for AdvancedVapeSupply . Since its not something I dont often build I am practicing my game to speed up and yield a clean length. I made these earlier as I wasnt confident I could pull them off, after making them I can see they are easier then I thought and I only messed up 2 wraps on a 8" length on my first try...the original claptoning is the pain in the ass part as the wire kept jumping out of the drill or breaking.

Specs: 3 x 32KA1/40N80 Aliens (6 Wraps/2.5mm ID @ .33 Ohms) Im actually using them and they are hot as 70w on the Velocity/Kbox70!!

I tried making some SSFC's that would be high enough in resistance to run Dual Coils...well I accomplished it but know now to use Kanthal Ribbon and less Ribbon so I can use them on a Parallel Box.
Not a single Flaw on either coil...
9 x .4R/26KA1/36N80/40N80 (4 Wraps/3.5mm ID @ .07 Ohms)

I've seen you running some flattened and squared wire and was wondering if you have a roller mill? It seems to me that rolling some thick (say 20ga) wire till it was nice and flat would give some nice surface area and make it easy for us coil noobs to clapton up (rather than fighting with 2 pieces of round wire plus 6+ pieces of ribbon). It's a shame they don't make some monster ribbon kanthal, say 1mm x .15mm.

I was also wondering if you've ever experimented with a oval shaped coil? It seems we'd be able to squeeze something with more suface diameter in say, the Boreas, if we used something with a slightly oval cross section, like 5mm x 3mm.

Thoughts?

I use a roller thats similar to a mini mill to flatten some wire like single strands but usually a hammer for intricate wire. They make flat wire thats up to 18g but its really expensive, for the price of a spool you can pick up a roller setup. The Radiator coil...Im not really a fan of, you can get the same experience with dual coils or parallels with less effort..

I've yet to see a mini mill for less than a couple hundred, you got a link or a name I could google?

I'm not sure we're on the same page with the oval coil thing... I was merely referring to wrapping (forming) your coil around something oval; the coil could be anything, parallel, clapton, fused, whatevs. No extra effort involved, really.

Its not called s mini mill mill but it accomplishes the same thing with what we use...it works best with wire thinner then 20g. LINK HERE

The "Oval Coil"..its also called the Radiator Coil, its not as simple as wrapping something around a Oval object, it could wrap fine but if its not crazy tight on there it will slightly unravel and be a odd looking ovalish thing...Normally you would make your normal coils, then use 2 round object roughly half the size and pinch the sides with pliers. It could be done with Parallel coils and Dual Coils but I dont see much a of an improvment beyond a single strand build....If your doing a normal coil build or a polished build then it would be nice though

That's a beautiful build there sir... As you have heard from many others already that's a true art form. If you don't mind me asking where do you purchase the majority of you're wire? Looking for a good supplier at a good cost.

For my practice wire I use alot of K.Bee wire, the seller is asaju305 on ebay, For Customer Coils I use Kidney Puncher Wire, to ensure the highest quality wire available is used and they last as long as possible.

I don't ever see myself twisting or braiding wire. For just simple wraps what gauges do you recommend in SS wire?

30 PLY Staple, one of the advanced coils Ive always wanted to make but never thought of doing it when I could have...Also it comes out to .05 Ohms in Dual Coil with 4 Wraps/3mm ID so if you try this and dont own a Custom Lipo PWM Box or a HOG V1 use them in single coil!!!

Specs: 30 x .3R/46N80

Hi Ray! :) What's the flavor like on those?
Well so far the juices I used on it I dont enjoy but was testing them to see if steeping has helped them so I can quite comment yet, Ill try it with some juice which I know exactly what it should taste like and see. It doesnt take much to fire it though, at 2.8V/80w it lights up with no ramp up time....like a instant on switch so its even great on a Parallel box...I think I may do it again but with less Ribbon so I can Dual Coil it while keeping around the same resistance....Maybe a 14 PLY Dual coil next time.

James, have you built with the framed Claptons yet? I have one Boreas base built with it. My new Boreas is here today. My G2 is hot and bothered to have that tank riding it.

Yes I have. As a mater of fact, I was about to install the new set from Ray in my Boreas.
