I plan on getting back into DIY soon. I've been mixing since 2017 but have mainly been buying my liquid the last couple of years. I have just about everything I need but could always use tester bottles. I'm gonna recycle all or most of my old ones. I just ordered a couple hundred 10ml gorilla bottles from a place I've never heard of. They're in St Louis and have go reviews so that's good. I was gonna just go the eBay route but almost all of the big lots (100 counts) are from China. Not sure where people are getting their bottles from these days.

I decided it's silly for me to mix in 30ml bottles, so I bought some 120ml wide mouth bottles off Amazon. This exact item is not available now, but I'm sure if you like the general idea, you could find some that are similar. It's super easy to mix in these.

Rebuilt my Dead Rabbit RTA. Thing was as sluggish as, I don't even know what. It had two 2.5mm N80 tri-core Claptons in it, so I pulled those out and put two 3mm N80 24awg round wire coils in. Turned wattage down about 20W (to about 42W) and it vapes better than it did. I think it'll be better still after it breaks in a bit.

No kidding, it was taking about 10 hits on those other coils to get them hot enough to put out a decent amount of vapor. Damn coils must have been kanthal or something. Truthfully, I don't remember where they came from - but they look like the coils I make myself with the Wotofo N80 tri-core wire. Don't behave like them, though, although I do mainly use those as singles. I guess it's just too much metal (for my preference) when there are two coils involved.

Rebuilt my Valhalla RDA (41mm) Wasn't getting the flavor I wanted or expected. I had 3.5mm coils in it so I put 4mm in her. Much better. Experimented with a few new flavorings I got a couple of days ago and finished packing up a goodie box for a friend.

Swapped out a battery in the brass Coppervape about half hour to forty-five minutes ago. Vaping a fair piece better. Put the discharged battery on to recharge. Looking at the SQ mods now, just looking, ... Well, so it goes. Oh yes, vaping a bit as well.

I won't dispute that round-wire Kanthal probably does ok. More complex coils, though - I've just not had good results from Kanthal. Crazy-making, me with no patience, when I hit the fire button, I WANT FIRE. I think this is part of the reason I like Voopoo mods so much. Every one I have produces almost instantaneous fire when the coils are decent. (The mod I am using with the Dead Rabbit RTA is a Voopoo Argus GT, so even more that leads me to believe those coils were just crap. Either that, or there's some mighty huge voltage loss on the DR RTA, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if that were true, too.)

Hope you have a good trip to see Mom. September around Harrisonburg should be pleasant if it isn't too awfully hot. It surely has been hot this year, though.

I wasn't going to buy any more juice for a while as I have a pretty healthy stash of commercial and am moving more toward DIY, but it came up in the Your Vape Today thread the other day so figured I should give it a try.

Fired up a SMOK TFV9 from my stash a bit ago and holy moly it can flow a lot of air!

Might freshen up the Big Baby Beast RBA later. If not today, then sometime this weekend along with a couple of other RTAs that are about ready.

There's no need for you to take that on - I'm sure I had hopes too high for it to start with, because of what I think is the excellent job they did with the Key Lime Cookie. The lemon isn't terrible, and I'll have no problem vaping it. Might add some FE Lemon to it, and that could very well set it right. So many lemon flavorings fade, and that very well could be all that's wrong with it.

I'm just now trying the Strawberry in a Mjolnir RDA and it is very nearly as good as the Key Lime. Right now, it's on new cotton, which isn't optimal for flavor, but as it breaks in I expect it will get lots better. I'm very pleased with the Strawberry.

The Shamrock is going into a Kylin M AIO, as soon as I finish up the vanilla that's already in it. That might happen this evening or tomorrow morning.

Shamrock is in the Kylin M AIO, and it's really REALLY good. I will want to try to clone this one.

Actually, on second thought, my Butter Mint Milkshake is pretty close to this. Has no cookie in it, though, so I'll have to try it with cookie, and I might put a dash of white chocolate in it, too. The problem I have with that recipe is that both brands of Creme de Menthe I've tried (FW and Flv) fade really badly after a few weeks. Not sure what to do about that - I figured getting the Flv would take care of it, but no.

I rehabbed some old gear.

Lot of general cleaning, rebuilt the NarCa with 24ga Kanthal which was difficult, and I wiped down the Wraith with USP Mineral oil to restore the rubber stuff. I think it went well...had to glue back on one of the door's magnets as the ancient glue had given up...no biggie.











30W was too hot for me, I ended up with 28.5W and it's perfect. The old girl still chucks.

Hey @nadalama , You'd mentioned something about rebuilding on the NarCa...this is what I do. Not easy at all, but using the Coiler Master's 3mm rod and 24ga K1, it's a good solution and will last for years of re-wicking and easy cleaning, IMO. Ya, one of the legs isn't fully around the screw, but those are big slotted screws..it got wrenched down real good.

Closing the AF just a teeny bit got rid of the infamous NarCa whistle...Milly did not like that sound.

I use the side of the AF channel to create turbulence...no more noise and still enough air for R-DL. Sometimes, I'll also just raise the cap a bit too. Whatever works, I say.



I went for 0.45, it came out 0.48-0.49 depending on if i oversquonk or not...lol....I can live with that.

I found a Goon v1.5 at a shop today but there was no bag of spares in the pouch. Also remember reading (I think here somewhere) that some versions are preferred over others, though I couldn't remember which is which.
I picked it up anyway, don't really need a squonk pin and can probably source/pirate o-rings from somewhere if needed.
I did get a discount on my purchase though not because of that.

They also had the Sadboy Pumpkin Cookie which I've heard some good things about so I grabbed a bottle of that.

Hard to buy commercial juice since starting DIY, not because I make better yet but more that I can't help but think "I could buy eight new flavors for what that bottle costs!"

Will do, though might be a while until I get to it. (Haha, Do Not Open Until Halloween!).
I have around 36 10ml testers in my drawer that are starting to cycle so I haven't been using as much commercial juice.
Actually the only one active right now is the Sadboy Strawberry Jam!

K, might not be a while.
Put a new wick in the Govad, not bad at all. Don't think I have that set up the best though.
Grabbed the Mongrel, but didn't rewick, might be better.
Big Baby Beast RBA needs freshening up so will try in that in a bit.
So far getting the familiar cookie flavor, pretty sweet, a little pumpkin and spice.
Will update again after I feed the Big Baby!

That one is pretty easy...the MCV Underground SQK is a nightmare.
That and my Dos Equis (that I had to modify to make it work properly) are far worse...IMO.

Okay, fed some to Goliath and am getting more of the pumpkin flavor coming through. I only ran through about half a tank, but right now, it's good though I do like the strawberry one better.
I still have their Butter and Shamrock ones to try at some point as well.

I really like the Shamrock one, but contrary to the description (mint milkshake and cookies), I could swear that I taste chocolate in it. I'm an absolute nut about good chocolate vapes - but I realize not everyone is.

I still need to tinker with the Lemon Cookie. That one, as it comes, is just sort of meh. They could have done SO much better! I still think it needs some FE Lemon added to it, which I will do as soon as I can get my hands on my FE Lemon.

Ugh, I did an order recently from Flavor Jungle but didn't really check out the other brands that they carry. I'd heard before that FE Lemon is considered one of or the "best" out there. Noticed that I missed it after I'd ordered.

Well, I found out why the fire button on the Reactor mod had been sticking sometimes...



It must have been cracked previously, and when I went to reassemble it, it all went together fine...I thought. Went to put a battery in and sparks flew instantly. Hastily got the battery out...fortunately I hadn't screwd the cap down.

Yup, it's toast. No way i'm gonna find a new fire button for that. Tried to super-glue the chip back in, nope.

(don't mind the bits of dark stuff on the shaft/spring, it's not dirt, just a tiny bit of Noalox I'd rubbed on there with a toothpic to help lube the button)

The only thing I can think of would be to Dremel out a new button out of wood/plastic or something non-conductive. It's such simple part, but they normally wouldn't need replacing very often.

FAIK, MCM mods doesn't sell spare parts, that I could find anyways for an old mod. Looked on 2F and stuff for replacement parts...nada.

Sorry, no, it's a hope-to-be Shamrock Cookie clone, or something close. I haven't mixed it yet. It's based on a recipe I have mixed before, though, and know in its original form tastes very much like the Shamrock part of Shamrock Cookie. • Built an old CoV RST RTA for my Going-out-of-the-House mod.
• And, I re-wrapped an old LG HG2 battery that had a cracked wrapper. Love that heat gun...it took seconds.

Hubby has been "losing" his mod setting it down in his van a lot, so he asked me to make him a couple mod holders to mount to his dash. He likes the one I have for mine, but can't find anything close to it anymore. It took about an hour to make a matching pair for him I think he'll be happy with. They mount to the little things you can put a cellphone on, and the round things are screwed on.

Recharged my only 18350 battery so I could resurrect an old Lotus tube mod I had forgotten about. It has my one-and-only authentic Flave RTA on it, running some well-steeped Met4 Golden Ticket. It's a better vape than I remembered! Also seems like I remember this atty being terrible for WHISTLING, yikes that gets on my last nerve, but it isn't doing it now, so I'm not changing anything for a bit.

I'm about to build a GV Z RDA that my good buddy @Tornadoalleydeb sent to me. Thanks again Deb! I might just try it out on a Kennedy Cobblestone clone that I haven't had a good black RDA for, so I haven't been using it. There's a stainless Reload S clone on it now, but that RDA is crap and doesn't do the mech any justice at all.

ETA: I've built the Z, tri-core N80 Fused Clapton w/4 wraps, 3.5ID. Comes out to 0.33 ohms. Dripping Sadboy Lemon Cookie on it, and with the airflow completely closed it's still a bit airish, but is giving me some pretty damn good flavor out of this juice that hasn't tasted like much of anything in any other atty I've put it in. The Z is a great match for the Cobblestone, really does look quite good, so it might have a permanent home there.

I can't figure out how all this air is getting into the RDA, but no worries. I don't have to understand it to really like it!
