Animal Study Proves Blushield EMF Protection Work
The Blushield was used in a trial to determine how the Blushield would affect egg-laying chickens in an egg farm.

Use of the Blushield in Minnesota (USA) reported the adjacent hen house was being affected by the use of the Blushield in the barn for cattle. Turns out the hen house was producing twice as many eggs as per normal. This trial was carried out to prove this hypothesis.

Clinical Study on Blushield Efficacy - The Results Are In
Almost three years ago (back in September of 2020), we were contacted by Tom Blue, the owner of a research company and Executive Director of the American Academy of Private Physicians. Tom is connected with a large network of doctors. He had recently discovered Blushield EMF protection devices, and noticed significant positive results from using the devices on himself, his wife and their son. All three regularly track various health markers using the Oura Ring device, and the results they found in their sleep quality and heart rate variability were impressive enough to inspire Tom to reach out to us.

Hi Jimi,

Sometimes all that's needed to shift our reality is a little wisdom, spoken to us with gentleness and a pure heart. I came across this powerful Lakota prayer a few days ago and wanted to share it with you. I hope it helps you on your path. I know it did for me.

Lakota Prayer

Great Mystery,
teach me how to trust
my heart,
my mind,
my intuition,
my inner knowing,
the senses of my body,
the blessings of my spirit.
Teach me to trust these things
so that I may enter my Sacred Space
and love beyond my fear,
and thus Walk in Balance
with the passing of each glorious Sun.

According to certain traditions, the Sacred Space is the space between exhalation and inhalation. To Walk in Balance is to have Heaven (spirituality) and Earth (physicality) in harmony.

At the core of this timeless wisdom is the word "trust". When did we stop trusting ourselves? When did we start giving that trust, that power, away?

In many ways the healing path is a process of reestablishing that trust with the infinite that resides within us, just waiting to be activated.

Does the key to resilience hide in your gut?

mail
Ever wonder why some handle stress effortlessly while others just seem to crumble?

UCLA Health's latest study suggests the secret might lie in the brain-gut connection. The study found that individuals who handle stress like pros not only exhibit specialized brain activities linked to better cognitive function and emotional regulation but also enjoy a robust, healthier gut microbiome with less inflammation and stronger gut barriers.

Through detailed analyses of brain MRI scans and microbiome data, the team identified specific neural and microbial activities that support resilience.

Imagine: if we can identify blueprints of a resilient brain and microbiome, then we may just be able to prevent stress-related diseases like heart disease and diabetes.

So, what's the takeaway? By nurturing your gut microbiome, you can bolster your resilience against life’s pressures, potentially transforming how you experience daily stress.

GUT HEALTH

Gut bugs as predictive tool for cancer treatment

mail
They are small but powerful.

Groundbreaking research has developed a promising tool to predict how well cancer patients will respond to certain treatments based on their gut bacteria.

Analyzing fecal samples from 245 lung cancer patients, researchers identified two key microbial groups: one group of 45 bacterial species linked to better treatment responses, and another group of 37 microbes associated with resistance.

By developing a scoring system based on the ratio of these bacterial communities and the presence of Akkermansia muciniphila (a gut bacterium that can influence the immune system), researchers were able to predict who's likely to respond well to immune checkpoint inhibitors (a type of cancer treatment).

With more testing, this tool could help doctors personalize cancer treatments, identifying patients who might benefit from therapies that adjust their gut bacteria to improve their chances of success. While further validation is needed, this study paves the way for improved cancer care, potentially helping more patients benefit from life-saving immunotherapy treatments.

The simple cure to back pain relief

mail
Struggling with low back pain?

Lace up those sneakers because research unveils promising news for all those suffering from low back pain: walking could be the key to keeping the pain at bay.

The world-first study tracked 701 adults who had recently overcome an episode of low back pain. Researchers then compared the results of those who participated in a tailored walking program combined with physiotherapist-guided education to a control group.

Participants who hit the pavement enjoyed a whopping 208 days of comfort before a pain recurrence, nearly doubling the 112 days experienced by those who didn’t. They also experienced fewer episodes of severe pain.

Walking isn’t just easy on the wallet — it strengthens your spine, kicks stress to the curb, and triggers those feel-good endorphins.

So why not take a stride towards better health and squeeze in some more steps every day?

MENTAL HEALTH

An unexpected ally during life’s big changes

mail
Navigating big life transitions can feel less like a smooth-sailing experience and more like a turbulent ride. But science may have found a surprising way to cope: Being kind.

A recent study followed 193 first-year students through their first semester, checking in weekly on their well-being and kind actions. Students reported on 47 common good deeds like sharing notes, holding doors open, or helping with directions.

After six weeks, students naturally engaged in about seven different types of kind acts each week on average. Those who did more kind acts felt happier, more resilient, and more optimistic. They also felt less anxious and lonely.

So the next time you go through a big life transition, try helping others. It might just make you feel better, too.

Plant–based Poke Bowl with Quinoa

This vibrant plant-based poke bowl isn't just a meal; it's a powerful tool to nurture your digestive health. Built on a foundation of fluffy quinoa, this dish brings together nutrient-rich ingredients like marinated tofu, cucumber, carrots, and avocado, each offering a unique blend of fibers that support a healthy gut microbiome. The pickled ginger and nori provide probiotics and vitamins that aid digestion and enhance gut flora balance.
mail
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 1 tablespoon tamari
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon date paste
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned or shredded
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup edamame, shelled and cooked
  • 1 small radish, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup pickled ginger
  • 2 tablespoons nori or seaweed, shredded
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish
Marinade for Tofu:
  • 1/4 cup tamari
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon date paste (dissolve date paste in a little hot water to thin it out)
Dressing:
  • 2 tablespoons tamari
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon wasabi paste (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon date paste (dissolve date paste in a little hot water for easier mixing)
Instructions:
  1. Rinse the quinoa under cold water in a fine mesh strainer until the water runs clear to remove its natural bitterness. Combine the rinsed quinoa and water in a pot, bring to a boil, then cover, reduce to a simmer, and cook until the quinoa is fluffy and the water is absorbed, about 15 minutes. Let it sit covered for 5 minutes after cooking.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the tofu marinade. Add the cubed tofu and gently toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, or longer in the fridge for deeper flavor.
  3. While the tofu marinates, prepare the cucumber, carrot, avocado, edamame, and radish.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the marinated tofu cubes, reserving the excess marinade. Cook until all sides are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. To make the dressing, in a small bowl, whisk together the ingredients for the dressing until well combined.
  6. To assemble the poke bowl, scoop the cooked quinoa into bowls. Arrange the cooked tofu, cucumber, carrot, avocado slices, edamame, radish, and pickled ginger on top. Sprinkle with shredded nori, sesame seeds, and sliced green onions.
  7. Drizzle the dressing over the assembled bowls just before serving to add a punch of flavor.

Jimi, let’s face the truth: we’ve all got too much stress in our lives.

Our fast-paced modern lifestyle makes it inevitable. No matter how hard we work, there’s always more to do. Every day feels like a race to a finish line that we just can’t ever cross.

Stress is an ever-present threat that is contributing to higher mortality rates, greater risk of chronic disease, and lower overall life satisfaction.

It’s imperative that we actively work to combat stress through any and all tools at our disposal—from improving our work environment to reducing unnecessary activities to increasing time for relaxation and recreation.

Science has discovered another tool for your use: botanicals, aka herbs and natural ingredients.

Here are seven plant-based, science-backed remedies that will help you combat and manage your stress:

1. Ashwagandha – Ashwagandha has the ability to lower cortisol (the stress hormone) and reduce the symptoms of stress. It also increases the release of GABA and glutamate, which can improve your sleep quality. It’s even capable of reducing your perception of stress so you feel better just by taking this herbal supplement.

2. Passionflower – Passionflower has a mild sedative effect that can decrease anxiety, curb stress reactivity, and prevent insomnia. It can improve function of your hippocampus and balance neurochemicals (producing more GABA in the process) to reduce stress.

3. Lavender – Lavender is a highly potent aromatherapy remedy thanks to its scent’s ability to reduce stress and induce relaxation. It can lower cortisol levels in your blood, curb anxiety, and combat insomnia. Research has proven that it can improve sleep quality and increase your energy levels. The terpenes in lavender can calm your brain’s chemical receptors and reduce stress starting in your brain.

4. Rhodiola – Rhodiola is a potent adaptogen that can help your body adapt to the pressures and stressors of daily life, making it more effective at handling stress without suffering wear and tear. It’s proven effective at managing stress-related symptoms, can lower stress response, and even decrease fatigue. It can also decrease nitric oxide production in the body, which in turn can reduce the exhaustion you feel every day, while also increasing your endurance.

5. Valerian Root – Valerian root is one of the oldest sleep remedies, thanks to the fact that it can help your body and mind to relax, even after a long, stressful day. It has also been proven to be highly effective at combatting stress and anxiety, and can have a mild sedative effect. It may even be useful for treating depression and regulate neurochemical production.

6. Chamomile – Chamomile is a mild sedative that can have a tranquilizing effect. It is often used as a sleep aid because it can help you to relax and mitigates the effects of stress on your mind and body. Chamomile contains a flavonoid called apigenin that binds with the benzodiazepine receptors in your brain and can have a calming effect on your central nervous system.

7. Theanine – Theanine, also called L-theanine, is an amino acid found in black tea, green tea, and certain mushrooms. Research has shown that it can have a calming effect on your mind and body, reducing stress, improving sleep quality and latency, and preventing sleep disturbances. It can also combat stress-related ailments and improve cognitive function.
Stress can shorten your lifespan and reduce your quality of life, but only if you let it.

With these botanical remedies, you can take active measures to combat stress on a biological level, improving your health in both mind and body.

Add to that active stress-reducing measures—such as changing careers or reducing the number of extra-curricular activities—and you’ve got the recipe for a healthier, happier life.
Yours in good health,

Hi Jim,
Having good posture isn’t just about standing tall and looking confident (although that’s a nice perk!). It plays a crucial role in maintaining your physical health.
Here are just a few reasons why it's incredibly important to your health:
1. Reduces Back and Neck Pain: Poor posture puts extra strain on your spine, leading to discomfort and chronic pain. By maintaining proper alignment, you can alleviate pressure and reduce pain in your back and neck.
2. Improves Breathing: When you slouch, your lungs have less space to expand, making it harder to breathe deeply. Good posture opens up your chest and allows for better lung capacity, enhancing your breathing and oxygen flow.
3. Boosts Digestion: Sitting or standing with poor posture can compress your abdominal organs, affecting your digestion. Good posture helps maintain the natural alignment of your organs, promoting better digestive health.
4. Increases Energy Levels: When your body is aligned correctly, your muscles don’t have to work as hard to support you. This reduces fatigue and boosts your energy levels, helping you feel more active and alert throughout the day.
5. Enhances Circulation: Proper posture ensures that your blood vessels aren’t constricted, allowing for better blood flow. This can help reduce the risk of circulatory issues and improve overall cardiovascular health.
Fortunately, there's a simple move you can start adding to your routine that can reverse forward head posture.
Here’s how to do it…
1) Sit in a chair…
2) Move your head like THIS for 20 seconds…
And you’ll stand with perfect upright posture…while erasing aches and pains in your neck, back, and shoulders.

Recently I've been pondering two of my loves, antioxidants and skin care, and how they intersect.

I'm excited to share with you a two-part blog on the subject!

In these blogs, I’ll cover 3 ways antioxidants interact with your skin:
  1. As an external barrier/ protectant
  2. As a deep treatment through microneedling
  3. As nutrition your skin receives through your bloodstream

Today's blog focuses on how antioxidants benefit your skin and specific food and supplements.

Hi Jimi,
Most of us are on toxic overload — with synthetic chemicals bombarding our bodies through foods, water, air, cosmetics, and more.
And research shows that this toxic burden is fueling many of today’s most widespread and serious diseases, including Alzheimer’s, cancer, heart disease, and a range of hormonal issues.
That’s why my friend, natural health researcher and advocate Brian Vaszily, created a powerful report about 25 foods that can help your body detoxify safely. These are foods that you might want to start eating right away if they aren’t already featured in your diet.
>> Download your report right here (for free!).
You’ll find out about nature’s most effective fruits, veggies, herbs, spices, and seeds that can help your body to cleanse itself of toxins. You’ll learn about the foods that best target specific organs, including your liver, kidneys, gut, brain, lungs, lymphatic system, and more.
With this report, you’ll also get free registration for The Live Long & THRIVE Summit. In this summit, Brian will interview 22 leading healthy aging and longevity doctors and researchers — each from different key areas of expertise (including yours truly). We’ll share proven steps that can help you to recover from disease and add vitality and longevity to your life.
>> Get it all right here.
Yours for living long and living well,
Ocean Robbins
P.S. On the page right after the free and easy sign-up, be sure to see Brian share how 19 heartless words that a doctor voiced — years ago — have everything to do with how long and how well you live.
P.P.S. Research is increasingly linking toxins to serious chronic and age-related diseases. Biotoxins and heavy metals, for example, are now associated with both dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. And cancer, hormone disorders, and autoimmune diseases are similarly linked to chemical exposure.
The good news is there is a LOT you can do about it, and one of the most powerful steps of all is to eat more of nature’s top “detox superfoods.” How many of them are you already eating?
Get your free copy of the report to find out, right now.

Stem Cells Can Improve Heart Failure
Dr. Chauncey Crandall, M.D., writes:

Patients with mild or moderate heart failure who have high levels of inflammation responded well to stem cell injections and experienced a decline in their risk of heart attacks, strokes, and heart-related death, according to clinical trial results.
Stem cells injected into targeted areas of a failing heart become activated by inflammation and start pumping out beneficial biochemicals, explained lead researcher Dr. Emerson Perin, medical director of the Texas Heart Institute in Houston.
Special: Dr. Crandall Saved His Own Heart With This
“These cells are little factories of different proteins, cytokines and other products that then have an effect locally on the heart muscle cells,” Perin said, adding that the cells also help improve the health of blood vessels both large and small.
Researchers recruited 537 people suffering from advanced heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, which is when the main pumping chamber in the left side of the heart is significantly weakened. Half of the patients chosen at random received 150 million stem cells into targeted areas of still-working heart muscle, delivered through 15 to 20 injections in a single procedure.

Part 1

In our first email of this summer 2024 starch versus fruit-and-vegetable showdowns, we compared selected nutrient levels in 100 calories of potato with 100 calories of romaine lettuce.

In our second comparison we looked at three common plant-based breakfasts; one oat-based, one composed of only fruit, and the third composed of the same fruits with added kale.

In this third email in the series, we turn to dinner, where we look at a similar nutrient comparison for a starch-based meal with added vegetables, versus a vegetable-based meal with added starches. Please note that we're not specifically recommending or suggesting either of these meals, we are presenting them for comparison purposes and to illustrate the nutrient differences between a starch-based meal versus a fruit and vegetable-based meal.

The starch-based meal is a kidney bean-based chili with tomatoes, onion, red peppers, garlic, and lemon, along with one cup of cooked quinoa and one cup of cooked broccoli. In this meal, the majority (80%, 538 out of 667) of the calories come from the kidney beans and quinoa.

The vegetable-based meal includes half of the exact same chili and quinoa in the starch-based meal above, but with 2 cups of cooked broccoli instead of 1, and 1 cup cooked cauliflower and a moderate-sized salad added composed of about ¼ head of lettuce, 1 tomato, 1 shredded zucchini, 1 shredded carrot, and a simple dressing of one tomato and ½ cup mango, blended together.

In this meal, 269 out of 622 calories (40% of total calories) come from the beans and quinoa, while the remainder of the calories come from the vegetables and mango.

As far as the total quantity of food in each meal is concerned, when we cut the quantity of bean-based chili and quinoa in half, and then add an extra cup of cooked broccoli and 1 cup of cooked cauliflower, we are at approximately the same quantity / volume of food as the original amount of chili and quinoa from the starch-based meal. We then add the salad for an additional 1.8 pounds or 831 grams of food. That’s more than enough to keep most of us good and full! This vegetable-based meal also has about 45 fewer calories than the starch-based meal.

__________
Quinoa, cooked (6.5 oz., 185 grams, 1 cup)

Broccoli, cooked (3.4 oz., 97 grams, 1 cup)

Vegetable-Based Dinner with Half the Chili and Quinoa Plus Extra Cooked Vegetables and Salad:
Chili:

Kidney Beans, canned, drained (4.5 oz., 128 grams, 0.7 cups)
Tomato, canned (4.5 oz., 128 grams, 0.5 cups)
Onion, chopped (1.4 oz., 39 grams, 0.2 cups)
Red Bell Pepper, chopped (1.05 oz., 30 grams, 0.2 cups)
Garlic, cooked (1/4 clove, 0.75 grams) (optional)
Lemon juice, raw (0.38 fl. oz., 12 grams)
________
Quinoa, cooked (3.3 oz., 93 grams, 0.5 cups)
________
Broccoli, cooked (6.8 oz., 194 grams, 2 cup)
Cauliflower, cooked (4.3 oz., 124 grams, 1 cup)
________
Salad:
Lettuce, romaine or cos (2.1 cups, 3.5 oz., 100 grams)
Tomato, red, raw (1 large, 6.4 oz., 182 grams)
Zucchini, raw (1 medium, 6.9 oz., 196 grams)
Carrots, raw (1 medium, 2.2 oz., 61 grams)
Dressing:
Tomato, red, raw (1 large, 6.4 oz., 182 grams)
Mango, fresh (½ cup, 4.1 oz., 115 grams)

Each of the meals share many positive nutritional attributes. They are low in total fat, low in saturated fat, and contain no cholesterol. They are high in fiber and are good sources of many important nutrients. They are low in calorie density. These are the types of dietary attributes that help people lose weight and keep it off without feeling hungry or deprived, lower their cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar, and feel lighter, clear-minded, and energetic, in addition to many other benefits.

But does this mean the meals are equally healthful? Please look at the table and bar chart below to see how these meals compare to each other for selected nutrient abundance.

Below is the bar chart form of the table above that makes it especially easy to see the comparisons, where the meal with the higher nutrient value is assigned 100%, and the meal with the lower nutrient value is shown as the percent value it achieves compared to the food with the greater nutrient value.

For example, the starch-based meal bar for vitamin C is 50% as high as the vegetable-based meal, given that the starch-based meal provides about 50% of the vitamin C as the vegetable-based meal (187 mg vs. 377 mg). Starch-based meal values are shown in tan, while the vegetable-based meal values are shown in green.

mail

Both meals are excellent sources of fiber, as they are each made from whole plant foods. The starch-based meal provides 30 grams of fiber, while the vegetable-centered meal provides 35 grams of fiber. The greater fiber content and greater water content of the vegetable-centered meal gives us a greater volume of food and saves 45 calories.

There is approximately double the quantity of omega 3 fats, folate, vitamin C, vitamin E, and potassium in the vegetable-centered meal. The vegetable-centered diet also provides over 6x the quantity of beta-carotene, nearly 3x the vitamin K, and a slight increase in calcium compared to the starch-centered meal.

It's interesting to note that for the starch-based meal the red peppers in the chili are the #1 source of beta-carotene, while the 1 cup of cooked broccoli is the #2 beta-carotene source, and the tomatoes in the chili are the #3 source. The beans and the quinoa do not provide any substantial amount of beta-carotene.

The vitamin C profile fits the same pattern. Without the bell peppers, tomato, lemon juice and onion in the chili, the vitamin C content of the starch-based meal would be nearly zero, as kidney beans and quinoa provide negligible amounts.

This brings up our main point of the article; the more vegetables added to a meal, the greater the intake of these important nutrients, as well as the other nutrients on the chart and many others not included in the chart.

The iron content of each meal was nearly identical, which covers male and post-menopausal female daily iron recommendations, and provides about half of the iron recommendation for pre-menopausal women, with substantially fewer than half of the calorie recommendations for most post-menopausal women. That’s great!

So, what should we do with this information?

As we stated in our last email, we are not going to make anyone wrong for enjoying starch-based foods that are unprocessed and healthy. Avoiding unhealthful ingredients like excess total fat, excess saturated fat, cholesterol, high levels of dietary carcinogens, additives, preservatives, etc. that come as part of a nutrient-poor, calorie-dense profile can truly transform your health and your life for the better. Both meals fit the bill in this regard and that’s great!
Part 3

Providing an abundance of important nutrients is also an extremely important part of the health equation,
and in this comparison, we can once again see that vegetables are generally much more nutrient-dense than starches.

In our last email we saw the combination of banana, orange, and mango was dramatically more nutrient dense for many key nutrients than the meal of oats, apples, raisins, and cinnamon, and the addition of kale to the fruit notably increased the amount of a number of the nutrients examined even more.

But can you live on fruits and vegetables only? Do you have to eliminate all starches to be truly healthy? What about the nutrients not covered in these emails; where do they come from? What options are there for covering all our nutrient bases from eating only plant foods? Can healthy fat sources be included and what are they? How much raw food is important to include in a healthy plant-based diet? Does one have to be 100% raw? What about oxalate, food combining, microbiome health, essential fats, cooked food toxins, blood sugar challenges, cardiovascular health, anti-inflammatory nutrition, healthy weight achievement, and the other important topics in raw food and plant-based nutrition?

And perhaps most importantly, how does one make sense of conflicting and confusing information and how does one fit all these pieces of raw food and plant-based nutrition into a cohesive whole for a lifetime of supercharged health?

What Are Normal Glucose Levels?

Dr. Chauncey Crandall, M.D., writes:

To get an accurate plasma glucose reading, you have to fast for at least eight hours prior to the test. A normal blood glucose level is between 70 mg/dL and 99 mg/dL.

A reading of 100 mg/dL to 125 mg/dL implies prediabetes, while a reading of 126 mg/dL or higher indicates diabetes. Any glucose level over 100 mg/dL is cause for concern and should be addressed through weight loss and lifestyle changes.

Special: Doctor Discovers Sugar Control Method, Naturally

However, blood sugar can fluctuate, so a second test should be performed. The glycosylated hemoglobin (A1C) test provides an average blood sugar level for the past two to three months.

An A1C level of 6.5% or higher on two separate tests indicates that you have diabetes. An A1C between 5.7% and 6.4% indicates prediabetes. Below 5.7% is considered normal.

I can’t stress enough that you don’t need a glucose level approaching diabetes to experience the harmful effects of elevated blood sugar. I’ve seen many people with painful foot problems that are the result of nerve damage from high blood glucose, even though they were never diagnosed with diabetes.

Why do so many people have "hidden hypothyroidism"?

Low thyroid functoin often accompanies most chronic conditions, even diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer's disease.

Yet hypothyroidism often remains "hidden".

Do you have symptoms of low thyroid function but have never been diagnosed with hypothyroidism?

By the way, there is a very long list of symptoms that can be caused by low thyroid function that most people would not associate with it, but the most obvious and common symptoms are feeling cold when others do not and having a low body temperature most or all of the time, especially when you wake up in the morning.

If you have symptoms of low thyroid function but have not been diagnosed with it, then you probably have "hidden hypothyroidism".

"Hidden hypothyroidism" is simply a term I came up with for situations in which a person has hypothyroidism that has not been diagnosed because it "hides" from the methods used by most practitioners to test for hypothyroidism.

If you have hidden hypothyroidism, it's probably because your health practitioners have made one or more of the following mistakes:

  1. Relying only on TSH, T3, T4, and thyroid antibodies for diagnosis.
  2. Using outdated ideas abiut what levels of TSH could exist along with hypothyroidism.
  3. Using overly broad ranges of "normal" values for T3 and T4.
  4. Not looking at ratios between various thyroid hormones.
In the next email or two, I will unpack why these are mistakes and what is being missed.

Hello Jimi,
Chronic stress and anxiety are like background noise. We become so accustomed to these feelings that we hardly notice them anymore. But just because we get used to stress, it does not mean our bodies can handle it better. Over time, chronic stress does cumulative damage to our physical and mental health.
It is vital to prioritize your mental wellness with routines and natural therapies that help quiet your mind and calm neuroinflammation.

Cancer Breakthroughs Summit
Research on cancer prevention and treatment and the cutting-edge innovations that emerge from this rapidly evolving field are among the most pressing topics of our era.
Last year, I co-hosted the inaugural Cancer Breakthroughs Summit with Dr. Michael Karlfeldt, a respected naturopath and cancer care expert. I will be speaking at this year’s event on the role the mind and the heart play in cancer recovery. I hope you will consider joining me for even a handful of these important talks.
>> Click here to register now.
In a recent interview with Haley Dubin, I explored the pivotal moments that shaped my career in integrative oncology, emphasizing the holistic approach to cancer treatment. We delved into the importance of deep breathing for cancer patients, highlighting how it fosters calm and reduces stress, creating a healing environment. The discussion also covered the significance of maintaining emotional harmony, as the heart's balance plays a vital role in overall health and the body's ability to heal. Additionally, we examined the intricate relationship between Galectin-3 and cancer, and the promising role of modified citrus pectin in inhibiting cancer progression and metastasis.
I also shared the essential elements critical to cancer healing, which include physical treatments, nutritional support, emotional and spiritual care, and a supportive environment. These multifaceted approaches underscore the need for a comprehensive and integrative treatment plan.
Lastly, we emphasized the profound importance of cancer patients speaking their truth, as expressing their feelings, fears, and hopes is crucial for emotional healing and empowerment. This interview provided valuable insights and experiences aimed at inspiring and supporting others on their cancer journey.

Hello Jimi,

The connection between the mitochondrial network, chronic fatigue, and Long COVID is rooted in the critical role mitochondria play in cellular energy production. Chronic fatigue and Long COVID both often result from mitochondrial dysfunction, where the cells' energy factories fail to meet the body's demands, leading to persistent fatigue.
Modern-day stressors, such as insufficient sleep, physical inactivity, and elevated psychological stress, exacerbate this issue by inducing oxidative stress and inflammation, leading to mitochondrial shutdown. We have seen firsthand in our practice how COVID has highlighted these underlying issues, as the virus's impact on the body often triggers a cascade of immune responses and inflammation that disrupt mitochondrial efficiency, bringing previously latent chronic fatigue conditions to the forefront.
In the latest episode of the Gordon Medical Forum podcast, Dr. Eric Gordon talks with Ari Whitten about optimizing cellular repair and renewal.

Episode highlights include:
  • Mitochondria, beyond being the “powerhouse of the cell”
  • The critical role hormetic stress plays in mitochondrial optimization
  • Autophagy and mitophagy
  • The gut-mitochondria axis
  • Practical steps to improve mitochondrial function

If you are enjoying our new podcast, we'd love to hear your thoughts! Please leave us a review to help us improve and reach more listeners.
We recommend exploring two mitochondrial support
programs offered by Ari.

Sign up for a free training session:

>> The Energy Blueprint Training
Discover a six-step, science-backed blueprint designed to alleviate fatigue and restore energy.

>> Breathwork & Mitochondria Training
Learn the critical link between breathing and mitochondrial function and how a specific breathing routine can support mitochondrial performance.

We encourage you to also share this information with your family and friends. In our modern era, everyone can benefit from enhanced mitochondrial support. These programs offer simple yet powerful foundational strategies for optimizing mitochondrial function.
To your good health!

Hi Jimi,
Fireworks, picnics, laughter, and fun!

Every year we celebrate our independence, and the unfortunate thing is that the foods most Americans eat to celebrate Independence Day take away our most important freedom—body freedom!

Unfortunately, those foods are an abomination for your cardiovascular health.

When you take actions to support your health, you provide yourself with the ability to do what you want when you want. It’s the ultimate body freedom!

Join me next weekend for “Your Genes, Your Diet, and Your Heart!”

It’s a 2-day online LIVE event that will show you how to read your genetic tests and labs for cardiovascular risk factors. You’ll learn the best foods to support your heart and blood vessels, normalize your blood pressure, and protect yourself from an unexpected heart attack or stroke.

Have a look at this, and if you like what you see, let’s transform your health starting right now.

You’ll immediately get access to a guide to the labs most doctors don’t run, instructions for getting genes tested, and an amazing spreadsheet where you can keep track of your genetic test results, lab tests, symptoms, and imaging.

Join us for an amazing weekend event. All the details are here.
Wishing you vibrant health and wellness,

Episode 378: SIRI TESTIFIES: NEW HAMPSHIRE PART 1
Today, on The HighWire!

It’s part 2 of the explosive testimony of ICAN lead counsel, Aaron Siri, Esq. before the New Hampshire House Committee on COVID Response Efficacy. Perhaps the most powerful testimony Siri has given on the public record, part 2 features Siri exposing the FDA’s failure to protect the public from vaccine harms. Enjoy part 2 of this revealing and informative on-the-record legislative hearing.

Also, today marks the 248th celebration of our Independence Day. It was Thomas Jefferson who said "I think by far the most important bill in our whole code is that for the diffusion of knowledge among the people. No other sure foundation can be devised for the preservation of freedom, and happiness." Knowledge, an informed public, is the key to preserving freedom. Never has it been more important to be informed, and to inform others. On this Fourth of July, it is our hope you will enjoy your friends and families, celebrate the values that made this nation great, and reflect on what you can do in sharing the knowledge you have gained by watching The HighWire, with others.

Happy Fourth of July! Enjoy Siri Testifies, Part 2, today on The HighWire!

10 Best Superfoods to Protect Your Eyesight

Tens of millions of Americans suffer age related losses in at least one of their senses, according to a recent University of Chicago study. And experts warn that once you start losing any of your senses, including vision, you increase your risk of developing dementia.

“People are living longer than ever before in history and with these extended life expectancies comes the likelihood of sensory decline,” Dr. Gary Small, chair of psychiatry at Hackensack University Medical Center, tells Newsmax.

“Sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste diminish in many older adults. In addition to impinging on the quality of life for these seniors, these losses also increase the risk for cognitive decline because less sensory input means less mental stimulation.”

Special: Dry Eye Is Just an Annoying Minor Issue, Right? Wrong!

According to the American Optometric Association, many adults begin to have problems with their vision beginning in their early to mid-40s. These issues may be affected by health conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes, a family history of macular degeneration or glaucoma, or certain medications such as antihistamines.

These foods may help protect your sight:

  1. Tuna. A 2016 study revealed that people who ate the most omega-3 fatty-acid-rich fish, like tuna and salmon, had the lowest risk of sight-stealing diseases.
  2. Blueberries. These violet-hued gems contain anthocyanins, potent antioxidants that cross the blood-retina barrier to provide extra vision protection. Anthocyanins may even improve vision in people who have tension glaucoma, a form of the disease that affects the optic nerve.
  3. Dark chocolate. A 2018 study published in JAMA Ophthalmology reported that adults who ate a bar of dark chocolate could literally see better two hours afterward. The flavonoids found in dark chocolate may help improve vision in people with glaucoma as well as reduce the risk of developing macular degeneration.
  4. Spinach. Leafy greens are packed with two powerful antioxidants — lutein and zeaxanthin — that are stored in the eye’s macula to protect the eyes from damaging light. Lutein is especially good at filtering out blue light, the kind that glares from your computer or phone screen.
  5. Eggs. Egg yolks are also chock full of these two powerful antioxidants. The best part of getting them from eating an omelet is that both lutein and zeaxanthin are fat soluble so they are more readily absorbed by the body. Egg yolks are also a rich source of vitamin D, which studies have shown may protect your eyes against macular degeneration.
  6. Oysters. Shellfish like oysters are rich in the mineral zinc and that helps keep eyes healthy. Zinc helps vitamin A make melanin, a pigment that protects your eyes, according to the AARP. Zinc deficiency may also cause poor night vision, according to studies.
  7. Hot tea. A study by the British Journal of Ophthalmology found that folks who drink hot tea every day are 74 percent less likely to develop glaucoma.
  8. Oranges. Citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C, which helps prevent free radical damage to the eyes, thereby reducing the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. It also builds collagen, which provides the structure for your cornea. In one study of adults aged 49 and older those who ate an orange daily had a 51 percent lower risk of age-related macular degeneration than those who didn’t eat the fruit.
  9. Sunflower seeds. According to a Spanish study, people who eat 2 ounces of sunflower seeds daily derive the eye-saving benefit of vitamin E, which significantly lowers the risk of cataracts and cataract surgery.
  10. Carrots. As the old joke goes, you never see a bunny wearing glasses. But kidding aside, carrots are a rich source of beta-carotene, an antioxidant your body converts to vitamin A, which is essential for good vision. Beta-carotene also fights off free-radical damage. Eating high amounts may lower your risk for diseases like macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma.

If someone told you there are foods you can add to your diet that could potentially increase your lifespan would you believe them?

In 2004, researchers from Japan, Sweden, Greece, and Australia, teamed up to find out if there are foods that are consistently linked with a longer life span, and they did.

The good news is, many of these food items aren’t out of your reach.

For example, they discovered that every two-tablespoon increase in beans and other legumes (like lentils), correlates with an 8% reduction in the risk of death!

And that’s just the start. There are five other foods that you want to make sure you’re eating — it’s all discussed in a masterclass a colleague of mine put together.

Watch the transformative Food For Health Masterclass this week at no cost.

This Masterclass is exceptional, offering evidence-backed insights crafted by esteemed experts in the health field.

John and Ocean Robbins of Food Revolution Network have meticulously designed this course to empower people to take control of their health with food, which is exactly why I’m sending it your way.

In the Food For Health Masterclass, you’ll learn 10 ways to outsmart disease, increase energy, lose any excess weight, and boost your odds of living a long healthy life.

Think about it — if just two tablespoons of beans can reduce the risk of death, what are all the other big tips you need to know about?

Make sure you’re not missing out on this life-saving information. It’s all inside the Masterclass!

Yours in health,
