It's worth the "risk" to me. And if it's not to you, you can always wire it to 3 x 18650 IMR batteries instead. Options!

Well, by that logic ANY battery CAN fail if you mistreat it or push it too hard. all youre doing is choosing an equally disastrous endgame just a different type of disaster.
Then again I like roasted marshmallows allows

Any battery can fail, but I'd rather have the one that leaks a bit next to my mouth than the one that violently explodes.

Ok, I get it, that's your choice... personally its nothing I'm afraid of so I choose differently,

And that's totally valid. But the battery is separate from the board itself. Wire it to 18650s instead. You'll get a lot more battery life too. But with the board's safety features, personally I'm not concerned. I'm actually looking forward to trying high wattage on a mod that's almost as small as an iStick 20W.

Your cellphone isn't running a 3C LiPo.

In a device made by some guy in his garage.

Not a valid point... the lithium batteries used in cell phones do not have the amp output capability that typical LiPo's have... or even the amp output the types of cells we are currently using in high drain 18650's ....

LiPo's do have a higher rate of potential failure... I've had one go up on one of my RC planes that had crashed, also had a friend that lost his garage to a LiPo fire... so they can be volatile if they are overworked or have sustained damage. While they do flame up violently... they will only explode if the fire sealed in a container without venting.

the technology we use is totally difference with DNA40, that is why base on their theory, no people able to understand how do this able to work, and work perfectly.
it even know when the tank need to refill e-liquid, in that case it can stop burn the coil on time.

lol i hate to do this but...

what i take from this, and i know im WAAAAAAAAY late to this party, is that GraceChen meant that the people at Evolv dont think other companies can figure out how to get TC to work.

Grace mentions the DNA40 and says "based on their theory... etc". clearly this meant Evolv and not their potential customers.

do people really think they would intend to insult potential customers?

now like i said... i stumbled upon this post and the others soon after, and could not wait until i read the entire thread before posting this. im sure this has been beaten to death so for that i apologize. i can tell from the last page of posts that this thread was a doozy. it just seemed to me that folks here were taking it completely wrong and i felt like speaking up.

now on to read the rest. flame away friends!

All batteries can fail. Proper ventilation, and don't throw water on it...

I rather think he was kidding about the GPS function.

But one feature I would like to see added is a Time and Date function. The Joye Evics have this feature as well as the Dovpo E-Mech.

I find it very useful as I always have my APV handy but I may have to dig for me cell phone when I want to check the time

Taste control⊇temperature control.

Wow! I must say I'm impressed by your marketrdoid powers Gracechen. It truly is the first time in my life I see set theory being used to plug a consumer product such as yours! Very creative.

So now the question springs to mind: in what way is temperature control a subset of taste control?

Please do explain...

No this is something we should of always had at least a slight concern over.

It can happen, but its so unlikely I wouldn't be worried. I would be more worried about being struck by lightning than my phone blowing up( Jinxed myself now, tommorow there will be a thread titled"crap my phone blew up")

^^^^ it was a Samsung

Nuff said -hahaha

No, joking aside, it boils down to taking care of your shit and not overloading it, same thing has happened with any battery.
That was my point, do I need to post pictures of the scraps of a 26650 imr that exploded at a vape meet?
It can happen with any battery
