If the board can measure it, why not display it? The have a password function, wtf. Isn't 5 clicks enough? They can display something they can measure if they're adding bullshit like a password!Just because we the user cant measure it, doesn't mean the board isnt measuring it and for it to do anything like maverick's video showed, it must be measuring something.
I feel it is measuring it we just don't know how, and how that relates to the measurement we are familiar with (degrees) And because of that we have a lesser degree of control versus the traditional TC of Ni200 and Ti.
So while I am not as comfortable with the way ijoy chose to go with this, they did do something, and this is may only be the beginning. Someone else, hell even ijoy may eventually take another step to doing TC with Kanthal, and someone else may take another step and another one. And eventually there may be devices available that may do Kanthal TC in a way that is totally different then what we are use dto but find accpetable by the masses, or maybe it will be doing it with degrees like we are accustomed.
With a special atty, has a sensor in it. I'd be down if I could move that to another atty and not there proprietary one.Rumors and more rumors but I hear talk innokin has something kanthal tc related in the works, who knows.
510's are here to stay...An Innokin rep posted this morning on reddit that some prototype Kanthal TC Disruptors were being shown at ECC. Innokin is looking for feedback before they lock in the features and production will be in the future.
The good news and bad news: Good - the tank is proprietary and contains a thermocouple or other temp sensing device. It is NOT a 510 thread, which many people beleive is no longer sufficient. IMO, this is the right way to control temp. The rep stated that the unit does not use PWM but can control on a flat line. Also, he said that from early in the development, an RBA was considered mandatory and is well along in development.
Bad: Though the rep mentioned later that Innokin was looking into an adapter that would allow 510 devices to be used (obviously on power and not TC) it appears this is not a priority and is early in the development. I have no problems with moving to a better thread system, as long as it becomes a standard as the 510 did. There is not much detail about how much Innokin is going to work with the manufacturers, if they are going to require a license, and if the license fee will be one that makes business sense for the atomizer company. Of course it will be cloned, but I'd much rather see the known names making stuff for it.

Yes especially when used for financial gainYou consider the ass-raping of colloquial terminology... dishonest ?

Fix the false C/F in taste control mode, have the face fixed, and price it under $100 USD and I will consider buying it.I think if it was under $100, I might consider it, but for around $150 it will just be a niche/curiosity piece.
Edit That's assuming they fix the 510
Hi @gracechen Did you see the issue I am having with the connector on a lot of attachments?

Operate the temperature control easily by choosing the %’ F from 80%~110%. It is most like the YIHI SX mini temperature control box mod and has a Soft~Standard~Power~ Power plus. The IJOY Asolo 200W Box Mod has 80%~81%~82%……~109%~110%.I am not sure of the exact numbers the percentage represents
if i have read and understood everything correctly
you will not ever be able to calculate the kanthal temp.
You lock the temperature in by firing the coil till you like the taste. Then instead of reading or calculating the temp, the device reads SOME measurement
The percentage you can set is based of that reading. so you can go a little hotter or a little cooler
Most users do not want to get a dry hit so in that aspect of using this temp control mode with kanthal it works regardless of the temp setting.. And just a few small issues I found, the 510 spring loaded connector is real tight with not much play with one of my sub tanks having a issue not connecting, the LED light on the screen is way too dim to see at times, and the batteries once in, and cover closed is tight because of the spring loaded battery connectors with being very secure, and no battery rattle but is kind of hard to take off, each time the cover flies off do to the force needed to open.
I haven't experienced this on mine as of yet. exactly what toppers are you seeing this happen with? do they have longer threaded 510's then others? or maybe recessed or flush pins?Hi @gracechen Did you see the issue I am having with the connector on a lot of attachments?

Well it just may be my unit, four different brand name sub tanks had the issue.I haven't experienced this on mine as of yet. exactly what toppers are you seeing this happen with? do they have longer threaded 510's then others? or maybe recessed or flush pins?

Cool look forward to seeing it.smokie's sample may be special, but after he mention this, we check every mod carefully so it can promise won't have this problem happen to other users.
also the spring loading material on retail version is much better then the test sample.
your retail version is on the way, should reach you tomorrow.

Have around 15 sub tanks with all working on all my other mods. I belive it was just this unit which they are replacing.Maybe you need to use the subtank adapter?
You should find one in the large kanger subtank's box.

About the same. Asolo measured with a ruler approximately 3.5 inches high by 2 inches across by 1 inch depth. DNA 40 is 2.94 inches high by 1.5 inches wide by .088 depth. So Asolo is about a half inch bigger all around compared to that depth is about the same. Evic-VT is like 3.37 inches high by 1.8 inches across by 1.0 depth so it's about the same as that. essentially it's right around the same size as both of them. Nice small dual battery box !How does it compare on size to an evic vt or vaporshark dna40?

Hey as long as you're impressed with it who the hell else matters you're the one using the deviceI don't want to be the only opinion lol. But I am impressed with it.
LOL isn't all that mattersI really enjoyed all the negative comments about a mod that (at that point) no one had seen yet.....
