iJOY Asolo 200W, A mod taste control all wires includes kanthal/stainless steel

not occasional misfires, just seems to not always work when the buttons are pressed to turn it on. I still love it though
My brother and I ordered from the same batch on the same day. His phantom fires (doesn't work when button is pressed) frequently. Mine never does this. His hates cold batteries and shows low battery warning until they warm up. Mine doesn't. His screen has a whitish color illumination, mine is bluish. Odd discrepancies between two units from the same batch.
Yeah, it is going to fire low. Adjusting my usual 33'ishw to 37-40w on the Asolo and everything is good though.
Still finding the taste control rather worthless for dripping as well, as it's always kicking in when it really shouldn't. I have started using it for my Aromamizer tank though, and for that it works rather well imo.
I'll probably pick up the new mini version once it's out + on sale, and after seeing some reviews.

Taste Control is promising, but not working at least for me. I contacted with Ijoy and they ask weird things like set it to 30w with ohms higher than 0.5ohms, make it learn in less than 2 seconds (the device does not let you go to TC mode if the learning puffs are less than 2 seconds). So buy it at your own risk, if it fails, your money is gone, and it is not cheap.
I uploded another video with subtank. I wasted too much time with several rda and rta, with different coils and wires. I even changed the batteries with fresh vtc5 and hg2 but I could not get a satisfactory answer from Ijoy! This is clearly a defected product! @gracechen
Are you trying to do a cotton burn test on taste control mode? None of us can do that.

It is advertised that Asolo will prevent dry hits with Kanthal in TC mode, but mine continues to fire even the wick is really dry and finally burns it. Hi, your english is totally fine. What I was eluding to is how inconsistant many of us have found this feature to be. I use it occasionally, but frankly I find that it either cuts me off early, wont fire (dry coil) when I pick up the device from cold, or doesn't cut off as I would expect. I have found standard kanthal builds, in the range of 0.5 and up get this Taste control feature close to working, but I have never been able to trust it completely to not burn my wicks. I have found the taste control works exponentially better with tanks than it dies drippers...

Mine works good with everything. I tried a Dark Horse RDA .5 ohm 12 wrap dual coil Kanthal and dry hit prevention worked fine. I'm getting lazy and using mainly tanks now. eek55 where did you buy it from ?
Mine works with my Velocity clone, most of the time... But, sometimes I have to retrain it after redripping... Not a big deal... Absolutely love my Asolo...

RTAs 3 different Subtanks, Kayfun V4, 2 different Taifun GT2s, Lemo 2, Ego One Mega
Batteries LG HG2, Sony VTC5, Samsung 25R (all are brand new)
Wicks Muji Cotton, Rayon, Fiber Freaks, Organic Cotton
Liquid, from vg/pg 50/50 to 100/0, all 6mg nicotine level
It took nearly 4 days to prove I have a unit that burns cotton in every combination. BTW, I have friends with the same mod, and most of them are happy. Some say that it cuts off early, but it depends on the wick I guess. So I would be perfectly fine with a unit that cuts off early, rather than causing a fire in TC mode:

So, tonight I put my TFV4 on my Asolo at the same wattage as I had it on my UPV 4 at, 75w... The IPV 4 is a nice warm, dense vape... The Asolo, on the other hand, felt like it was only set to about 20w, I had to kick it all the way up to 100w to get even close... Is my Asolo messed up already?

Mine is about the same. I'd say 100 watts on my Asolo is about equal to 75-80 on my IPV3 Li.

Yep, I just tested my TFV4 on my wife's Sig 75 at 75w and it hit almost identically to the Asolo... YiHi chips must just be more powerful...

Yihi chips are about 10% higher than others.
Well I received an Asolo mini, or as its called Solo mini. I'm a fan of the original Asolo and am still using it. I love the Solo mini. I briefly played with it in Watts mode and taste control mode. works great. This thing is TINY ! Buttons work well now. It truly is comfortable in either your left hand or your right hand. The design is great. Well built. USB Charging works I tried it. You will see in the pictures spring loaded heavy duty battery contacts. Magnetic cover works well also. Comes with a skin like the original Asolo did. I got a black one and it had a black skin. Not sure if the colored ones come with the corresponding color skin. Grace can answer that. Keep the inovative stuff coming ! Everyone has their own preferences and I really like the Asolo line. That's just for me. I know a number of people on the forum have been using their Asolo's and love them also. I'll post more as I try it longer. I just wanted to get some pictures up here for you guys.
The tank is almost as tall as the box lol. With a mini dripper on this it would be super tiny !

It does indeed, but single battery mods are pretty hopeless for me - I can kill one before I get home from a shopping trip

Looks like a very nice mod, pic of it on the right. Now I do see the two videos above on burning cotton but this device is not TC, It has Dry Hit control, and flavor control.

I love my asolo it has never let me down doesn't give dry hit ,works as described in all modesRespect to you Gracechen for being able to laugh about it

So you say that a burning cotton won't give dry hits? Is it possible to claim having dry hit control feature but it can burn the cotton when the wick gets dry? This device does not have temperature control with kanthal, so you can not set the desired temperature, but it has a dry hit prevention feature right? A working taste control mode is not supposed to burn the cotton.
Anyway, Ijoy decided that I have a faulty unit and send me a new one, I am waiting for it.
